Aye, I can see that, but unless something major changes, it doesn't look like an SSBF lynch is happening today. If things stay like this, we will just end up with a no lynch today, which is definitely in the favor of scum. We have about 4 and 3/4 days left, so not a major rush yet, but getting closer.

I might change to vezo if it's to prevent a no lynch, but we have 5 days, and I'm more suspicious of SSBF than of vezo. A flip at the end of D1 ALWAYS helps more than a no lynch, as a no lynch D1 essentially beings us back to D1 with one less townie.

Just want to say that I'm here. Really not much to say, as a lot of what I want to say has already been said by other people. I'll re-read everyone in ISO tomorrow and go from there.

Person A attacks Person B who is attacking Person C, so technically person A is chainsaw Defending person C. however, that chainsaw should not be a ground for voting person A unless person C flips scum. IF person C would be to flip town, would you still be suspicious of person A?

That really depends. If Person A has been relatively pro-town, then he's relatively pro-town. However, if Player A has been playing scummy, then him doing a chainsaw defense will not spare him. It will depend on how scummy the player is. If Player C flips town, then the action of Player A decides if I think he's town or scum.

It doesn't really seem to me that not revealing your role is going to make a difference. You're already asking for protection so how is any of that going to change whether or not you reveal your role? Something is not right about this, especially considering it is day one... Are you a lyncher?

You haven't brought up further scummy acts that Friend/Humble Poirot has done and I find it ridiculous that anyone would have proof that a person is scum, unless you're part of the scum faction yourself. What are you going to say if "obvious scum" flips town?

Well, it seems to me (might be wrong here) jay here is basically claiming some sort of sweet role. So either he's scum doing a terrible gambit or he has some role I've never heard of (a distinct possibility, since this is my first non-newbie game, so I have to look up every role I hear about other than cop, doc, or RB).

After looking up "lyncher", I think this is probably it. If you look at jay in ISO, you'll notice he has only 5 posts and of the 2 or 3 that have actual content, he makes it clear right off the bat that he's after Friend. I don't think it's a coincidence (since Friend = Humble Poirot now). I don't know how else he could be so sure (unless he was scum).

Well, one thing for certain. I am not going off on a tangent here based on a three line post. And I won't speculate at the moment why I might think jay is doing it.

Explain, please. It's rare someone would say out of the blue they're 1000% sure someone is scum. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

So... IMHO, jay is either being REALLY dumb, or telling the truth. I'm leaning towards really dumb.

Any player with brains should know that in a normal game, having a role (especially an investigative one) that can be used before N1 is remarkably rare. In fact, I don't know of any roles that CAN investigate before N1. Unless the mod decided to try something new out (which I don't

think

is standard procedure in normal games), jay is making things up.

Here are my options:
A) Jay is a day-cop, who's telling the truth, albeit stupidly.
B) Jay is a lyncher, who's going about it remarkably obtusely.
C) Jay is a jester, which isn't a huge stretch after that post.

Whatever the case may be, his method of producing that information was quite foolish, methinks. I'm unsure what to think of his alignment, but I do find it possible that he could be a jester... or a mafia-aligned bomb? Or some such thing.

Please explain, jay.
