Ok, more seriously I can't maintain caps forever and we're starting to game so I'll play normally since some of you probably wanted to play with me, not me emulating socio .
1. Please provide me with a sample of your town and scum metas.
I...um...no longer have a solid scum meta. I haven't been mafia for at least 6 months, and probably longer. Well, there's one exception, except I didn't count as being in the game very shortly into D1. So, I don't think it's very representative. I have some third party meta I guess. But pretty much most of my recent completed games have been as town. How far back you wanna go and how many games you want?
2. Do you prefer town-hunting or scum-hunting?
Probably scum-hunting. I tend to stand back for awhile and see what's happening before I latch onto someone as scum. You'll often see my mod vote persist for awhile after official RVS.
4. Which of the following are scumtells: lurking, lying, being annoying, off-topic discussion, voting without immediately giving reasons?
Lurking depends on the situation.
Lying depends on the situation
Being annoying...normally not but the performance Ythill refers to means it depends on the situation.
Off-topic discussion...also depends on the situation
And, voting without immediately giving reasons mostly depends on the player and how soon they pony up the reasons.
8. Do you think you should out your town reads?
Hell no.
16. Are there any days or times of day we should not expect you to be posting on a regular basis?
Well, besides meV/LA from later today until August 1, generally between 12 AM and 9 AM EDT.
Now, questions for you
3. Why did you use the powers of two for your question numbers?
5. Do you have something against odd prime numbers?
7. Do you think one is a prime number?
11. Why is a raven like a writing desk?
13. Do you think answering these questions will lead to me discerning your alignment?
Now now, you should WANT me to do that if I'm scum. It means I've been caught.Ythill wrote:

DRK's answer on the town reads question causes me to amend mine to a situational Hell No. Saving someone from lynch, or at least stopping the momentum, if I truly think they are town, is worthwhile."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

...wait, are we flavor hunting? No, I haven't bothered to read the game yet, I've been busy as hell doing a lot of things to make life a little better, and succeeding. It's possible I'll do it today though, assuming you all aren't burning bits with tons of Walls of Text.
I still want to know why the fuck we're on a flavor based scum hunt, since that seems like a ludicrously stupid idea."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

WALL OF DEAAAAAATHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH~! Sorry about this, honestly, the tl;dr at the end is what matters. This is just stream of consciousness as I'm reading.
What's that supposed to mean, Longing? I really hope you have a damned good answer ^-^.TheLonging wrote: UK is a girl??? I didn't expect that tbh.
Why is Haylen trying to be distracting here? Got something to hide?
The TL Faraday drama is pointless and useless.
@Neto: What was the point of this post? It appears to accomplish nothing but make it look like you are paying attention while saying nothing of substance.
@Neto's question: You and Haylen right now, as of post 105.
@Haylen: You're lying. You died in Insane Asylum II as an SK, around May IIRC. You were kinda scattershot. I wish you had been town so I could have a stronger meta.
SFG comes off oddly here. I should know quite well that being angry doesn't equal scum. The problem is her excuses, and appears to be voting based on things not in this game, when there is evidence at this point. What's up with that?
Neto should know better here. This feels fake.
Why do you want a nameclaim, SFG? What about the chance that roles are related to role name, and scum might have fakeclaims?
KittyMo, learn to pay attention. I said I'd be on V/LA. Guess where I was?
What's interesting is Cuttlefish magically appears right after Kitty says something. There was an hour difference though so it might not mean anything.
Why is DRK being voted? Did I miss something?
I don't understand why DRK is scum, Faraday.
@TL: Why, why, and why?. You state three things you support but don't explain why. Explanations pl0x.
And longing claims scum
Unvote, Vote TheLonging
Hi Kitty. Why are you protecting Longing?
HoS: KittyMo
OK, Kitty, let me explain. You are asking us to eliminate evidence. TheLonging has claimed scum. You are asking us to ignore this because you don't like it. How is that NOT scummy? How does that help the town? AT ALL!?
@DRK: Can you elaborate without saying things you shouldn't?
hascow has spoken. I'm still assuming Longing claimed scum.
@Faraday: Fuck, you have a good point. It still allows for Longing scum though.
Yeah, about the win con thing. All the more odd that Longing would bring it up. Why, Longing?
Also,UnHoS: KittyMo. I don't think your reaction is as suspicious at this point
@TheLonging: But why did you feel the need to bring up your wincon in the first place?
This.
The thing is, TL, with Faraday pointing it out and you all self assuredly throwing it at us, it's still kinda weird.
@Cuttlefish: Why?
@Neto: Why is Faraday scummy again?
@Ythill: LEARN TO PAY ATTENTION MOAR! V/LA, DERPSICLE.
That said, that is a townie vote. I want something substantial from Haylen.
@Faraday: Why?
@Neto: Problem is you read very opportunist.
@SFG: Why elaborate on the role? I think the softclaim was dangerous enough.
And why am I being wagoned? Because you all are fucking morons who CAN'T READ?
V
FUCKING
LA
DO YOU UNDERSTAND IT, MOTHERFUCKERS?
Your denseness has pissed me off.
@KittyMo: You know this how, again? Could you elaborate on this? Since, you see, I don't know you whatsoever, or have any understanding of how you would "know" something like that. Especially since OMG, IDIDN'T!
Dumbass.
LINKED FOR FUCKING TRUTHERY
Haylen offers...not a whole lot at this point, but it's more solid than some things I've seen from you lot.
Um...
@SFG: Why the AtE in a non threatening situation?
Dram clearly is being useless. Course, he was also useless in IA II as town. Not sure if want.
Oh, hey, Reck provides reasoning for random DRK hate. I accept it could be true. Neto is scummier. DRK however, can quite easily be paired with him given how loose his attack on Neto was.
SFG's explanation for nameclaims sound townie, if misguided. People design against massclaim now.
Fuck, I'm shot.
TL;DR!
Neto is scum.
TL stands a chance of being scum.
SFG is possibly town.
Haylen is neutral/scum leaning.
Dram is playing similarly to how he did in IA II, so I lean slight town on him despite his anti townness.
Ythill is the towniest town to have ever towned.
Reck seems alright to me.
Faraday I'm getting a slight town read from.
DRK's strange post reads weird or whatever, so prob slight scum.
KittyMo I have little to know read on, is far more likely scum if TL is.
Cuttlefish is...all over the fucking place. I have no idea.
Unvote, Vote Netopalis"Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

@SFG: regarding fake claims, I usually give them individually to scum, i.e. counteracting what you propose.
I have no meta of mod-hascow.
You put me in a tough spot with the rest of your post. remind me to answer it if we massclaim.
Hai hai, we went over that with Longing. The rules allow for what he said, but I still have an eye on him.
That sucks about your friend. I can appreciate that as valid.
Essentially my arguments against nameclaims is that most of the time it outs townie power roles for little town benefit, thanks to fakeclaims and such. Basically, I am assuming most people are at least as competant at modding as I am. I assume hascow at least is. Generally competent mods punish nameclaims. Therefore, I don't trust it. However, the way you approached it read town."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Do you REALLY have to use in quote replies, longing? God dammit.
Anyway, fine on the neighbor thing, though slight scum points for, you know, not considering that you could TALK to DRK to determine his alignment :O.
You claimed scum cause your win con was a carbon copy of the original given in the rules but NOT what was actually given to at least one townie I know of. i.e., me. Kitty seemed very frantic to discredit this line of thinking. Your "two points above" are pedantic discrediting WITHOUT A BASIS IN FACT. You get a blue star for effort thought.
What's interesting is you call it a stupid question for me to ask you why you brought up win cons, but I don't see why? Put up why it's stupid, or put up an answer. Unless you're evasive scum, in which case I'm happy to lynch you.
Yeah, I read that post, really don't care.
What's hilarious is, I'm not tunnelling on you. I actually have a neutral, scum leaning read on you. You are NOT helping it with your post which is a miserable pile of discreditation withOUT addressing the points. It's amazing you think you can get away with this.
See, I think the key misunderstanding isI WAS WRITING AS I WAS READING!I'm AWARE the claiming scum point is dead. Why are you still going over it yourself? Especially if your only ammo is calling me stupid for asking relevant questions?
Why are you scum, TheLonging?
PS: Hilarious how easily you managed to turn my read on you. You could have went with it pretty easily instead of trying to get yourself lynched.
Neto's still scum though."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Hence why lynching him today doesn't seem like a good move!TL wrote: Also I couldn't talk to DRK pre-game.
There is no paraphrase of my win con that would match what you came up with. However, paraphrasing the rules based implication would.
The thing is, why would you bring up you had a town wincon when generally it's assumed you are arguing from the stance of having a town win con?
It was neutral scum leaning, to be precise. It turned to scummier given how you spent so much time discrediting my last post as opposed to addressing anything. In turn, this post works better.
Also, subtle misrep. I said went along with it, by which I meant answered the questions, as opposed to spending an entire, difficult to read, post saying my tells didn't exist or flat out refusing to answer my questions.
Not sure what to make of you now, since I appear to have calmed down."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

@Haylen: IA II is over. Admittedly, I just realized it wasn't over until I got back from Otakon, so you're forgiven :V.

Well, in this case, the argument is less "one has to be scum" so much as "both can't be scum". So since TL has been scummy on his own merit, if he flips scum, DRK is likely town.
At any rate, excuse me if I got sick of being called out by page 10 because people couldn't actually read. I kinda expect people to ACTUALLY READ in mafia games. Apparently this expectation is too high for some of our players.
I accept your explanation for disliking the win con discussion.
Dram wagon is a dead end far as I can tell. Mod meta from a week ago, so it's decently solid."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Some combination of the first two. I get in a bad mood when people who sign up to play a game don't play the game in question. I have no qualms about pointing this out to people, hostilely if necessary. The V/LA thing should have been obvious, and the attacks on me for being away were wastes of posts. I dislike being misrepresented and attacked when I'm not around to defend myself. Hence, why I was rather uncharitable to people who, apparently, can't actually fulfill their commitments to the game.
I would like it if you and everyone else proves that assessment wrong in the future."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

To be honest, I've been getting a kinda townie vibe from TL as well lately. I figured I was just being too soft though, and buying too much into "OBVIOUSLY scum wouldn't do that ohohohoho!" I'm curious what others thing regarding TheLonging."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

This seemed to happen last year as well when I played. I don't know what it is but something weird seems to happen in /invitationals.
Honestly, if the timing hadn't been so as to intersect the start of this with the con, I'd feel a lot more engaged. But 16 pages of silliness kinda breaks down one's morale."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

No. Scum won Simon Mafia II last year...also a game I was in...
Apparently, /in-vitationals with me in them are ones you wanna be scum in . Actually, Simon was lost due to apathy as well...dunno what it is about the group of players I like when they actually get to gether.
@SFG: I honestly didn't KNOW you were a miller since I was mostly scanning posts for oddities when I caught up. I had no reason to mention it D1, and I was dead later. I probably would have brought it up had I been alive.
And yes, I'm biased because I tend to run role madness games, and do stuff like that. I personally like including NK Immune Miller Vigs/SKs/mafiosos (haven't done the last yet, but it'd be fun.)
Honestly, when I first encountered miller with no cop way back in WOMAFIA, I wasn't irritated at all. I found it to be a really cool concept, actually. I think that role meta is a bad thing and it should be questioned. Obviously we're just going to disagree on this, which is fine. I have no logically compelling argument that makes me 100% right.
@Faraday: I figured. What I don't get is WHY I was obvtown. I posted a wall of text that didn't really SAY anything, and suddenly everyone says I'm town."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."
