DRK do you think SFG's questions drew discussion away from the game? Isn't that what you objected to on the top of the page. I don't see why you'd bother answering them if you think that's the case, or maybe I'm missing something here isn't what SFG did basically a RQS (ugh at the terms )
Neto have you actually found that voting without reasons is comitted by scum more often, or is just that you dislike it as a playstyle.
Hopefully cow gets here soon so we can officially start this shindig, I think everyone's confirmed.are you thinking of me when you're with somebody else?-

Haylen's explanation is OK I guess. It read to me like she was setting herself to say 'welp I'm just a bad player' later on as an excuse for any scummy actions she did. I'm always slightly weary of people pre-empting their actions.
I like the cut of yer jib, with the other stuff being finding DRK and Neto's buddy. It's not SFG though, for obvious reasons and all that.Ythill wrote:All the cutesy hugging stuff is okay, but if anyone posts Hello Kitty I will dayvig him/her. Just sayin.
1. There's a search function at the top of the page. Use it. I haven't been scum in a long time though, so you might need to go into the archives.
2. I look for the truth.
4. Objective scumtells do not exist. Off topic discussion is anti-town and should be avoided.
8. I share my town reads, though I'm less likley to give the reasoning behind them than I am with my scum reads.
16. I will usually post at least once per day but the times I'm on vary wildly. I'm often online late at night (west coast of US).
DRK is scum, possibly with Neto. We should wagon the latter, do some other stuff, and then lynch DRK. Faraday is town.

Where's the contradiction? Instead of ya know just vaguely saying it at least point it out if you want it addressed. DRK/Neto scumteam was pulled from the info in the thread. It's not hard to see you should be able to find it. I guess Ythill's buddying me also then? What does that say about our alignments anyway, you actually forgot to take a stance on that in this post.TheLonging wrote:
First off, this reads like a bad contradiction. Second of all, where did we pull the Neto/DRK scumteam from? I can't find anything. Okay, that's fine? I got that you found it scummy I was wondering if you elaborate on why, as I didn't see anything myself and still don't.KittyMo wrote:If you want further explanation, I prefer early votes that are based upon something said in the current game, rather than "lol your avatar is scummy" or "omg I've played with you 3 times, and 3 is the magic number, so therefore you must be scum!" Something about his post doesn't sit right with me, so I'm pursuing it.
TheLonging's post 74 reads like a whole load of nonsense to me. I've still no idea what he's on about re: contradiction and he voted me because I asked him what I thought my alignment was? I mean I guess you think I'm scum from the vote, but why didn't you say that initially?

I followed it, I didn't notice the fact it was late in both games though actually, I thought it referred to the jokeyish nature which seems typical of dramonic from my experience with him and thus not something I see as scummy. I've no real problems with her following up on it though either as it's an interesting line of enquiry and I'd not mind some early pressure in a few different areas.are you thinking of me when you're with somebody else?-

No I said it read (RED) like she was setting herself up as that if she's serious. The fact she said it was a joke and dismissed it as such made me feel better, if she'd tried to play it off as a serious thing I'd have probably felt different though.TheLonging wrote:You say you think Haylen's explanation was OK, yet you say that it reads like she's scum making an excuse later when she does scummy things/preempting their actions. nikkyfish does reck spaz out regardless of alignment? (you seem to have meta knowledge)
@ the longing will you be changing your vote to xreckonerx shortly? reck has agreed with me a number of times now, and i think that qualifies as buddying. thelonging, make it happen.
i'm not being hasty. i've found scum. we've 3 week deadlines but i'd be perfectly content to finish day 1 now, there's no need to fuck around.
oh if we're going to nameclaim let's get it done or don't, I don't want to waste days on end discussing how it's done, i've seen scum use it as a stalling mechanic before. it's okay though as SFG is pretty obv town.
also ignoring questions that are pointless is not anti town, I find it weird that you didn't even make the point that sfg was gonna be clogging up the thread (idr the exact phrase you used).
we need less haylen active lurking more haylen scumhunting itt. we also need dramonic.are you thinking of me when you're with somebody else?-

The last time I saw something like what thelonging posted it was scum crypto trying to be ballsy and guessing the town win con.
That's moot anyway, please read the fucking rules people.
I don't like TheLonging trying to 'confirm' himself by a win con that's said can have multiple variations on the first page anyway? What's the point of that? It proves nothing.

Anyway with reck dead let's move on to Neto. I don't undertsand why her softclaim makes her more likely town from your point of view. If I have a scumread on someone and they softclaim I certainly do not back off, softclaims are easy to make, don't see why it changes anything.

Where did this vote come from? You'd vaguely mentioned them before this, but you'd actually directly adressed her or anything so this sort of comes out of the blue? You didn't see the early DRK/Neto thing (reffered to neto as town) so I'm curious why you decided to jump on the wagon. My gotcha was basically because this looks like a really bad attempt at bussing.TheLonging wrote:

Well it's not so much stuff you've missed but that some of your earlier answers have been poor.TheLonging wrote:
I go through a stream of conciousness most of the time where I write the first thing that pops in my head, and unless it's to counter/ask about something important/make a case, I'll rarely check it over (I did when I tried to argue buddying... btw I have seen that as a scumtell, IRC once (when I first joined there), EpicMafia, on-site, off-site), and it's rarely proven me wrong. I just can't tell whether I'm supposed to discredit what, for me at least, was a close to 100% use scumtell here, I'm just going to give up on thatKittyMo wrote:I am honestly not sure at all if TL is scum because whenever I read his posts, I tend to ask myself what the heck I'm missing, because it is really hard to understand what's going through his mind.

Okay, so reck proves it's not a catch all scumtell at least, I wasn't poking fun, I'm just saying IME it's not a scumtell at all. It's an effective tactic for both town and scum, voting blocks/buddying/trusting players can be really powerful and fuck scum up.TheLonging wrote:

And then I got the feeling that people are just poking fun at my thinking that buddying = scumtell, so I basically gave up on pursuing it.
Not impressed with dram but otoh I'm not liking the people on his wagon and I doubt he's being bussed, more likely he's a counterwagon to TL at this stage.are you thinking of me when you're with somebody else?-

Yeah - though I still think she's less likely scum than DRK/Neto/TL, she slots in behind them in terms of suspicion at the moment as the dram wagon does look bad to me.

Ythill: SyFy Channel
TL: Telltale Games
DRK: Bioware
Reck: Arkham Horror
Dram : MTG
Cuttle : Mountain Dew
Faraday: Christopher Nolan
UK : Tom izzo
SFG: Soccer
Neto: Mafiascum
Haylen: Vermont Cheese
K so my theory's along the lines of ythill.
Nolan = Hascow's favourite director (says so in my role)
Soccer = sport hascow loves. check the world cup thread and that type of thing
Uk's guy is the coach of hascow's college team. Need to do more research on this but it fits into the others as things cow likes/has an interest in.
Haylen's cheese thing, hascow's from vermont. I assume this is popular there or in his area.
MTG is a card game, I'm pretty sure cow plays this from lurking GD
Mountain Dew = drink, uhh I guess mayube hascow might like it?
ms = obv a site he loves
No idea if hascow likes bioware or not, or any of the other's but it shouldn't be too hard to find out.
I think soccer prob would be in his thoughts, (Premier League kicks off soon and transfer speculation has been rampant as it is every year).
So I'm thinking maybe if we find what hascow likes or dislikes we may be able to use the named claims to better our scumhunting. It's not airtight but I think it's pretty good.
Bioware seem more likely town than telltale games who I've never really heard of. Wikipedia doesn't have a lot either but bioware are pretty well liked amongst games (although i'll check the ultimate video games topic to be sure to be sure)
Eh I think that's it. Make sense? I think so.are you thinking of me when you're with somebody else?-

why is the opposition bugging you? I think the main opposition has been reck and to a lesser extend myself. The opposition to the Dram wagon is really starting to bug me to be honest. I might need to reconsider my read on him. In fact, there's a decent chance my vote will move from him before I go V/LA tomorrow.
this is 2 players who one you think has 'been a bit odd to say the least' (I don't think I have ftr, my play's been quite straightforward I think) and the other is someone you don't really have any read on.
however it does seem pretty improbable (and bastardly?) that you and tl would be scum together so derp I guess, all on board tl wagon.are you thinking of me when you're with somebody else?-

Short thoughts on tl:
-He votes me for buddying, but not in the post he brings it up. if he thinks it's such a good scumtell y no vote on me?
- He still seems inconsistent in the application of said tell. Ythill wasn't buddying me (I don't remember why?), Reck was doing more buddying than I was yet he wasn't scummy for it, in fact you didn't even mention his buddying to me at all. I think if you think something's a scumtell you're going to be looking out for it like a hawk, it doesn't fit with a townie looking for scum.
- I don't think he satisfactorily responded to Ythill's questions, he seemed evasive.
- Post 17 is a doozie, hops on the DRK wagon (had previously expressed some mild scum read on her?) and says he's fine with a Reck lynch. Well thanks for fucking mentioning it. Don't buy this, it looked like bussing at the time, but now it just likes a really bad wagon hop.
21- The bringing up the wincon.Nul leaning scummy on this, could be more a personality thing I guess, still no town reason to do so.
23- LOL U GUYS GOT NO CASE XD SO RANDUM. This is just a gut thing but it rubs me the wrong way.
Lied about the night talk - firstly I tend to think not utilising out of thread chat is a scumtell in the first place (I've 2 ongoing examples of this which I can't cite, and a general feel that it works)
Since then it's been nothing really scummy, self voting's null too, but it's been mostly fluffly clogging up the thread and telling us who to look at when he flips town. Woop dee doo.
Colour me convinced. Yeah sorry. It's time to die. He looks like scum who's thrown the towel in.are you thinking of me when you're with somebody else?-
