Nope. Do I need to quote your opinion on this from the RQS? The fact that ~5 townies supported this demonstrates that there were honest motivations for doing so. Therefore, claiming genrally that doing so is a scumtell rather than a nulltell is wrong, and disagrees with your own stetment about how to find scum. Oops.Neto wrote:Townies can do scummy things and they still be scummy.
Huh? We've locked scum into their flavor for later claims, and we have uncovered a possible breaking strategy to be used later.Neto wrote:It's suspicious because there was really nothing to gain from it.
Not yet. However, I think it behooves town to spend some time skimming the mod's GD/GTKAS posts because the cardflips may indicate a flavor break to those who are familliar with his habits, and we might be able to exploit it closer to endgame. For now, we should just keep scumhunting as normal.UK wrote:...wait, are we flavor hunting?Record:Town 10W/15LScum 4W/1LOther 2W/2LNewbie 1L

Faraday: Although I believe that this whole flavor business is silly, I will note that the mod has discussed Telltale games with me before and is a fan.
Ythill: Not necessarily, for this presents a special case. Someone started this and urged others to do the same. Every lynch, there is a majority voting for someone, but some votes may be scummier than others. I need to reread the stuff about the massclaim again, though, to fully figure out what I think about it. I don't feel that there's a decent breaking strategy here, nor do I believe that "locking scum into their flavor" will be all that useful. I mean, it's not all that difficult to come up with a fakeclaim for any flavor that you're familiar with - I've done it a lot and I'm sure that everybody else here has done it as well.My posts are best read in the calm, reassuring voice of Morgan Freeman. I don't sound anything like him, but they sound best that way.

Me and DRK are neighbors. The mod said to me that DRK may not be of the same alignment, thus I believe DRK to be scum. Do you believe I faked my name claim? Why would I do that? Telltale Games and Bioware are both companies that look at each others work, thus it makes perfect sense.Faraday wrote:Nah TheLonging is still scum so it doesn't matter.Show0-1 at MS.net (0-0 offsite)Town:

I really doubt that they look a lot at each others' work - they're very different companies.TheLonging wrote:

Regarding neighbors, there is little agreement in MD. Mod-seeded neighborhoods are viewed as flawed due to the fact that most contain one of each faction, so randomization is recommended with percentages that make the role moot when determining alignment. If this game is a flavor puzzle, I'd say one of them is scum, but it'swaaaaaaytoo early to say whether that's what we're dealing with here.Record:Town 10W/15LScum 4W/1LOther 2W/2LNewbie 1L

Hey, if lynching me will help show scum. I prefer a dramonic (little content over all his posts) lynch or a DRK (based on the fact she might be scumneighbor) lynch however.Show0-1 at MS.net (0-0 offsite)Town:

I agree with the people who have said scumhunting using role names is useless. Everyone's role name seems to be something the mod has a positive view of. I really doubt he took the three he liked least and made them scum.TL wrote:I assume DRK has the same flavor, sort of, inherhis pm
I wouldn't be completely opposed to a TL lynch. It's not one of my top few choices right now and I'd just be voting him purely on the basis of him being a neighbor. I don't find him particularly scummy aside from that.
The opposition to the Dram wagon is really starting to bug me to be honest. I might need to reconsider my read on him. In fact, there's a decent chance my vote will move from him before I go V/LA tomorrow.
Other than that, obv-town keep obv-towning and questionable players continue to be questionable. I'm going to reread and see if I find anything new.-

I will not support any lynch within the first 20 pages or before KittyMo is able to return and contribute. However, I do find Longing scummy at the moment, and I'll do a more thorough reading of everyone tonight to get more solid reads.
I also must say, I haven't seen Rena on #mafia lately either, so her lurking makes null to me. Most likely she's having a bad week or something. I would aak you guys to give me more time to read her, as I'm pretty good at reading her. So please don't lynch her today.

why is the opposition bugging you? I think the main opposition has been reck and to a lesser extend myself. The opposition to the Dram wagon is really starting to bug me to be honest. I might need to reconsider my read on him. In fact, there's a decent chance my vote will move from him before I go V/LA tomorrow.
this is 2 players who one you think has 'been a bit odd to say the least' (I don't think I have ftr, my play's been quite straightforward I think) and the other is someone you don't really have any read on.
however it does seem pretty improbable (and bastardly?) that you and tl would be scum together so derp I guess, all on board tl wagon.are you thinking of me when you're with somebody else?-

The opposition that has been there has been very loud. If Dram's scum, either there are townies out there that legitimately think he's town or there are two scum screaming their heads off to stop the wagon. Either way, there would be something odd going on if Dram were scum.Faraday wrote:why is the opposition bugging you? I think the main opposition has been reck and to a lesser extend myself.

I don't want to dwell on this, but I want to be clear about it in case I'm dead before it becomes useful. DRK is missing my point. If all twelve of us are the mod's hobbies or addictions, then the three that take up the most of his timeDRK wrote:I agree with the people who have said scumhunting using role names is useless. Everyone's role name seems to be something the mod has a positive view of. I really doubt he took the three he liked least and made them scum.currentlyare the ones that are taking over his mind. An example should demonstrate exactly what I mean. For the sake of argument, let's say that a search of hasdg's GD/GTKAS posts reveals that he's currently spending most of his time following soccer, playing mafiascum, and playing a Bioware game. In that case, if we have seen scumflips from Neto (mafiascum) and SFG (soccer), and DRK is still alive in endgame, I'd like the living townies to look very closely at DRK (Bioware) because the evidence in this example suggests a flavor puzzle that indicates DRK-scum. Understand?
QFT.Reck wrote:That entire dram wagon just reeeeeks
This is equally true if he is town.DRK wrote:If Dram's scum, either there are townies out there that legitimately think he's town or there are two scum screaming their heads off to stop the wagon. Either way, there would be something odd going on if Dram were scum.
I owe this game another reread, been focusing on other games for the past couple of days. I should have time to look more deeply into it tonight.Record:Town 10W/15LScum 4W/1LOther 2W/2LNewbie 1L
