Animorph day one lynch sounds like a fine idea. That is actually entirely what I was trying to get at with the questionnaire, actually - question two was supposed to determine whether you got what you wanted, and then research would reveal what you were likely to request. Magna beat me to the concluding punch, but I 100% agree with his results.

Question 1 is obviously silly, but if you didn't answer questions 3 and 4, stop pretending you are important and have a life and answer. If you were actually as busy as you are pretending to be, you wouldn't have time for forum mafia. Information can be deduced from them, you know.

To answer my own questions
1) No response.
2) Yes.
3) I would give him the $200. A life is worth more than that (even a petty theif's), and I don't think I could live with the image of him screaming as he burst into flame for the rest of my life.
4) Depends on the situation. If I were playing the game as a mental exercise and/or for fun, I wouldn't cheat as that defeats the purpose. However, if I were playing the game to prove myself as superior to the other players, then I would do whatever needed to win.

Also, Seraphim's post restriction is annoying as fuck.

If you want me to answer the questions, then relate the questions to the game. I don't normally answer questions anyways because IMO, they do nothing for scum-hunting that the RVS doesn't do. It's just a cop-out for people who hate the RVS, IMO.

I find the RQS to be banal and just as pointless, if not more so, than the RVS stage. I'm not saying that questioning is bad during the beginning of the game but throwing down a survey and expecting everyone to answer pointless questions is just as bad as randomly voting people for jokey reasons. I also dislike the entire idea of there being "stages" in the first place...the entire idea of "Random Question Stage" seems to imply that EVERYONE should be asking random questions which makes the "RQS" even more unfun. It has just as much potential for discussion as it does dragging down the game. So "RVS" all the way.

The first question is obviously silly, but the other three are not dumb random questions like, "what's your favorite color." The second one is designed to try and find out whether everyone got the side they wanted, which is pretty relevant in a game where you supposedly CHOOSE YOUR SIDE. The third and fourth questions reveal how far you are willing to go to get ahead. which is also pretty relevant in a game where some people are TRYING TO GET AHEAD BY LYING. The answers also help gauge people's personalities in general, which is always nice information to have, even if you can't use it in game.

And even if the questions ARE useless, you are wasting more time arguing about whether you should answer them or not than it would take to just answer. What's the point of being difficult on purpose?

You can't choose your role, only your side and your name. Theoretically, Animorph could have TRIED to manipulate his role by submitting an extremely fitting name (e.g., Sherlock Holmes if you wanted to be a cop). However, that is completely unverifiable because, no matter how fitting the name, SaintKerrigan still needed to balance the setup and make the game fun, so he couldn't just plop down whatever fits with each character name. And what if multiple town characters tried to bid for Vig (like CSL, for example)? It's a popular role.

In any case, it's definitely NOT a Vig softclaim. Why would Ani gamble with getting Town Vig (he doesn't even like town) when he could just CHOOSE HIS SIDE as mafia or third party and be practically ensured a kill?

Animorphh is blatantly lying. The Vig claim is an extremely convinent cover story for the fact that he knows he can't squirm his way out of why he wouldn't have picked a killing role, so he HAS to claim one. Lover convinently (AGAIN) deters lynchage. Role name makes NOO sense as Vig.

It ALSO makes no sense because, in order for the lover shit to be true, somebody ELSE would have randomly had to have picked Winnie the Pooh. WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF, OUT OF A POOL OF FIFTEEN PEOPLE SELECTING ANY TWO CHARACTER NAMES FROM ANY AND ALL CHARACTERS EVER, THAT TWO OF THEM PICK NAMES FROM A CHILDREN'S STORY BOOK?

I wasn't trying to use the question to ascertain potential idiosyncracies in the setup, I wanted to see if we could deduce who might prefer being scum/third party.

@Twomz and AGM – I think in a past game SK game someone chose Hannibal Lecter as a Town role. So the focus really shouldn’t be on whatever character Ani chose. Hell, SK could make Rainbow Brite a Serial Killer if someone suggested that Role and chose Third Party.

My point was merely that, if Ani wanted a particular role, he could try and get it by being very specific with his name and alignment parameters. E.g., naming Sherlock Holmes, Town would imply Cop, naming Hannibal Lecter, 3rd Party would suggest Serial Killer.

Andrius #120/24 reads as cocky town, not scum. But still, I agree quicklynch isn't the best play.

When I requested by character, I gave my name and told Saint Kerrigan that God was omnipotent and operated outside the realm of the game, and as such, I had "no alignment."

He assigned me 3rd Party. This is why I asked in my RQS set if everybody got the alignment that they wanted - I didn't get exactly what I asked for. Sure, I was kinda begging for it, but still.

HERE'S THE CATCH - I cannot stay 3rd party forever. As 3rd party, I have no win condition. If anybody else achieves their win condition while I am 3rd party, I lose. Instead, I have an ability where, once per game, I can choose

salvation for all

or

day of reckoning.

If I choose salvation, I reincarnate in human form (Jesus Christ), lose all my abilities, and become aligned the town. If I choose reckoning, I become angry at humanity and invoke Giant Flood 2.0 (Noah's Ark), lose all my abilities, and become aligned with the mafia.

SO…why not just switch right now? First of all, I'd obviously like to be on the winning team, and my ability lets me do that. More importantly, however, when I'm in God form, I have a SHIT TON of abilities, both active and passive. Like, blow-your-fucking-mind-out abilities. After all, I am God. I can claim some of them, all of them, or none of them … as you all see fit. Personally, I think keeping most of them to myself would be the best plan, as I can do some pretty sweet things if nobody sees the coming ahead of time. I'll say right now that lynching me is the worst fucking idea ever, because you will end up in a shitty situation VERRRRY similar to animorphs. However, I also know that, if animorph's ability is like mine (which I suspect it is), he CAN be killed eventually.

I've been playing pretty pro-town this game, I think, so I hope you believe me when I say my intent is to win with the town. I can also say that I am much more useful as 3rd Party than as VT.

How would I feel? Well, I generally don't like being threatened, you'd be shooting yourselves in the foot since I'd lose all my fancy stuffs, and a single lynch wouldn't get rid of me ... BUT if it was a go-town-or-die situation, my brain would force me to go town. I plan to go town eventually anyway, with the way this game is going.

I can't win with 3rd Party, which leads me to believe there are quite a few 3rd Parties in this game. Moreover, I play a dangerous gamble with the side-switching; if I switch too soon, I lose all my stuff and my side could lose, but if I switch too late, then I won't make it in time.

AGM, do you have any sort of powers that would enable us to kill Ani/manho? Also, are they like one-shot Cop, one-shot Doc type things, or are they more God-like?

They are mostly Godly. However, I was able to try ... and fail ... to get rid of Animorph. I have some other tricks up my sleeve that I plan to test out, but I still think lynching him will be the fastest option.

That aside, I think the best way to resolve this issue right now is dayplay. I have a sneaking feeling that there may be A LOT of third parties. Like, a LOOOTTTT. Think about it - my role is unbalanced as fuck in a normal 9:3-esk setup. I can just choose a side, pwnzors them to victory, and then drop to VT/scum at the last second. The ONLY WAY this plan doesn't work is if there are a lot of third parties running around (who I can't align with). HRMM HRMMMMM HRMMMMMMMMMMM.

At the point where that is true, I think at least one scum is likely to be hiding in the active lurkers. Toon Fighter seems like an excellent place to start. For one, WHAT THE FUCK WAS UP WITH THAT ELECTION SHIT. Second, they are not even around and are not posting at all. Also, Zazier.

Out of these players, two are claming third party - myself and CSL. Everyone else is claiming town. However, there were two nightkills last night. One of those kills likely originated from somebody attempting to kill Seraphim. The UK kill, however, is likely the doing of nefarious scum. It is also entirely possible that some other people on the list are lying as well. The flips throughout this game are showing us that people are much more likely to choose third party or scum than town.

I believe it is safe to assume we have a

MAXIMUM

of three townies left. It is possible there are even less … two, one … maybe even none. The chances of the town emerging from this debacle with a win is low, not because the town has played a poor game, but because there is simply too much of a chance that everyone is lying and is planning on screwing each other over at the end. If you're a third party lurking out there, you are unlikely to emerge with a win as well. Maybe one of you will win, but the others ... will die like the rest of them.

And nobody likes to die or lose, do they?

Thus, I propose the following plan that

ENSURES VICTORY

for EVERYONE remaining on the player list.

--The cult wins when it comprises the MAJORITY of the LIVING players.
--I can invite one person to the cult each night.
--I invite a person to the cult. We then lynch them immediately.
--This continues until only three players are remaining, at which point two will be in the cult and one will be left. The cult's win condition will be fulfilled.
--I am God, so I have a handful of nifty powers that will prevent any scum from screwing with this plan. Even so, though, why would they even bother trying - after all, this ensures them victory, too.

RESULT: Everybody wins except for that one person at the end, who gets screwed.

Except they don't. Because there is a survivor in this game. So they just claim, and the last person is them.

So, SaintKerrigan was doing such a good job with the flavor I decided it was only right for me to return the favor. Each night, I sent him a little story (usually an extremely acidic and sarcastic one) that described where I was trying to go with the game. Hope ya'll enjoy.

AlmasterGM stared at his slab of wood, up at the dispersing crowd, then back at the wood. He snapped his fingers and tried to summon a feast, but none appeared. He groaned aloud. God didn't need to eat to stay alive, of course, but who didn't enjoy the delicious taste of food? The lack of Xtra-Zippy Lightning Bolts was annoying him as well. How was he supposed to convince people to come and do his thing when he couldn't shock and awe them with a few magic tricks? He was as good as useless.

Except that wasn't entirely true, and AlmasterGM knew it. No, no ... it wasn't not true at all. If he could forge a devoted following of billions, surely he could convince a few of these unintelligble CAPS LAWKEING and huggling morons to join his side. Whatever a 'huggle' even was.

But that was the problem with morons. They were difficult to convince of anything. Spontaneously combust a bush in front of their face or something and they're sold instantaneously, but try and talk to them? A more difficult task. After all, scientists had been trying the latter tactic for ages, and studies had shown over half the population still preferred the story of the burning bush from a couple mellenia ago.

AlmasterGM smirked and silently patted himself on the back. The Burning Bush of Blistering Baddassery had been a clever idea indeed. But back to the topic at hand.

What do the people truly want? he asked himself. To escape reality.

Unfortunately, the more AlmasterGM thought about it, the more he realized how nice reality was right now. Not that this was reality in any way, shape, or form, but in this strange mystery of a place, two bafoons had as good as claimed their alliegneces to be elsewhere, and although the one had somehow managed to evade capture, it didn't matter. They would be strung up shortly. The townsfolk were working well together. Morale was high.

And high morale was not good for demagogery.

What if the people didn't like the message? They might start a crusade or a witch-burning ... or something. People only wanted to escape when there was something to escape from. Which right now, there wasn't.

That will change, though, AlmasterGM chuckled to himself. Sure, things might be looking mighty fine now, but night is about to fall, and everyone knows bad things happen during the night. Give these folks a few nights to rip at each others throats by day and cower in fear by night, and they'd be practically begging for release.

And he would give it to them.

Night 1: No action

AlmasterGM twiddled his thumbs. It appeared as though the CAPS LAKWEING and huddling morons had tried to lynch somebody. Again. And they had failed. Again. How convenient. Undoubtedly, some bad things would happen during the night and then people would spend all of tomorrow complaining about how awful the night was.

Sounded bad for morale. Good.

Personally, AlmasterGM didn't mind nighttime at all. He was God. Before he created light, there was only dark. It couldn't touch him. And he was pretty certain that, during the day, the townsfolk weren't going to get anywhere near him either.

Safe for the moment, AlmasterGM leaned back, relaxed, and fell asleep.

Two nights wasted lying in wait ... his cover perfectly intact, his identity completely masked, his town play perfect ... when some newbie imbecile had to come along and try and expose him. AlmasterGM was frustrated. Nobody wanted to join his cult. And if he couldn't convince at least one member, he'd lose.

It wasn't fair. They were all

They'd be perfect for a cult! After all, he'd been fabricating complete and utter lies for the past 3 days and with every lie they just believed him MORE, not less! They weren't even bothering to question the absolute ridiculousness of his role. They were

Unfortunately, the player list was dwindling. If he continued to recruit, he might be outed. There was room for only one more swipe before he went to Plan C.

And oh wouldn't Plan C be glorious.

AlmasterGM was extremely annoyed. He had planned this moment down to the letter. The fullclaim had been carefully crafted over the past few weeks - the words woven beautifully together so they would appear to confess the fully uncensored truth, play on xenophobia by demonizing the NPC "Charles," be forceful but not overbearing, compassionate and compelling … with just the right twinge of emotional appeal to finish.

Of course, the plan wouldn't ACTUALLY let everyone win because he had lied about the specifics of his win condition, but unsurprisingly, nobody was clever enough to realize that. After all, if a group of clowns was foolish enough to buy into the idea of a player who could change his own alignment and possessed a wide range of broken superpowers, they weren't exactly going to be closely examining the rhetoric of a win condition, were they?

It was all sooooo deliciously evil. And, consequently, perfect.

Until the fucking idiot Seraphim ruined everything.

AlmasterGM had never lamented his lack of Xtra Zippy Lightning Bolts more than right now. Seraphim was already dead, but that wasn't enough. AlmasterGM wanted to desecrate and incinerate the body into a thousand little pieces, and then damn his soul straight to hell. Why why why why why, Seraphim? Why did you have to play the troll? WHY NOT TAKE THE MOTHERFUCKING EASY WAY OUT.

AlmasterGM let out an exasperated sign. Now he was completely at Andrius's mercy ... or rather, at the mercy of Andrius's stupidity. AlmasterGM could only hope Andrius would go along with the plan and not reach out and steal away his win.

Game wise, I had my entire charade planned from Day 1. I intended to just lie dormant until the late game, then start recruiting people from factions that had taken a lot of hits and would fear a loss, and then finally reveal myself and wait for everyone run to me. Bulletproof meant that, with good dayplay, I could take as much time as needed. I had the "God" fakeclaim ready in case anything went wrong - I figured it would work well because this game was so confusing and had so many roles that it would be easy to falsify results. People would also be very hesitant to lynch a role that could help them out so much. The cop investigation threw a loop, of course, but that only meant I had to skip the "waiting" step. Otherwise, everything went as desired.
