On N5, I was considering not self-protecting so that I could use it N6, but I figured I would have a decent chance of either killing the last scum (who I thought was MS 1.0) or getting the last scum lynched (in case it was bv or Zazie) before it came to that. bill had me fooled, and I didn't actually consider him a serious candidate for the last Mito until I realized on D6 that Zazie couldn't be scum.

I'm not really sure how I feel about this game.

I mean, on one hand it felt like a number of townspeople (myself included) played pretty poorly. But on the other hand, the town lynched 4 scum in 6 days, which usually means the town should win. That said, the JP lynch was somewhat of a fluke. About five people seemed willing to vote him, but he wasn't necessarily going to be lynched until he got Executed by inHim.

If this game illustrates one thing, I think it's that two-faction games are really hard to balance or control. It looked for a while that the town was in good position, but then with no crosskills happening, it became "WE LYNCHED FOUR SCUMS IN 5 DAYS AND ARE PROBABLY IN LYLO" and then we mislynched, but then they crosskilled each other and we lucked out. Kinda silly when you think about it. A town that lynches four scums in 5 days shouldn't have to rely on getting lucky to win. But that's what went down.

My eternal fatal flaw shone through again. As I posted in a postgame not too long ago, "In every 3+ person scumgroup, I always manage to decide that exactly one of them is very protown." In this case, despite some reservations about Bill, I managed to do that with BOTH scumgroups. Ugggghhhh. My D1 was terribad, my D2 (suspected JP, didn't get a chance to vote him) D3 (suspected inHim, didn't get a chance to vote him), D4 (quadz) and D5 (Vezok) were fine, but then D6 was just an abomination. I guess I feel like I played kinda okay but certainly not well enough to win. If there's one positive I can get out of this endgame, it's that I can now finally point to a game and say "Sometimes people keep Glork alive because he is the biggest fucking moron in the room."

Thoughts:

-Midnight v2/Zaz, from a player perspective, was far more scummy than Kdub. There were some minor scum-tells that I read (though I won't mention). I will say this though, the big thing was the claim: Sigmund, a sword user. I was well aware that both of the players with abilities on the scum teams weren't given fake-claims. Midnight v2's claim didn't fit with "slashed repeatedly."
-my name was mentioned a lot in the QT. Approximately 48 times, in fact. Most of it pretty nasty ("That bastard Bill"..."kill that mothrfcker"...)
-too many power roles concentrated onto too few Town players (again)
-still dislike the 2 scum-team system. I have played approximately 5 games where 2 scum teams existed in my long "large theme park" mafia career (only 2 at this site, however). Town record in those 5 is 3-1-1. Bottomline, the end result is mostly dependant on crosskills.
-It's difficult for me to nominate a Player of the Game. Personally, I think Kdub/myself played the best here, but we both lost so that's irrelevant. Glork certainly didn't play his best game, but compared to the rest of town...eh, POG to Glork.

Glork, I would have liked to have killed you, but I feared doc protection. I was also afraid of killing you in the same night that the other scum team killed you, though it didn't matter since that happened with Prana anyway.

This was my biggest fear. I was planning to fakeclaim Guile from Chrono Cross exactly for this reason, but once I realized we were posting images, I PMed Kise telling him to upload a pic, but he didn't get the PM in time and I had to claim my actual character to avoid looking suspicious for not claiming quickly enough.

Also, I started to suspect bill as scum because I knew JP had gotten safeclaims from the Chrono games, and it seemed unlikely that Kise would give the opposing scum leader safeclaims from a much more obscure game.

My fault for not realizing that I would probably have been asked to post my character pic during mass claim. My only recommendation to Kise would be that if you are going to give safeclaims, give everyone on the team a safeclaim, and/or don't allow players to post their character images (equivalent to quoting your role PM IMO).

quadz had investigated Zazie early, so we knew he was Kou Leifoh. I actually didn't realize that the last Mito had to be Eve until D6, when I was looking at the PE wiki page. That made me realize that MS couldn't be scum, so I shifted away from him and onto bv, who was equally likely to be lynched. My reasoning for killing you (bill) was that you were more likely to be scum, and if I didn't hit scum, there was a chance the day could continue and MS could mess things up by voting too quickly and allowing scum to quickhammer. In the event I was wrong, I thought Glork probably would have deserved the scum win more since he would have played me brilliantly in the neighborhood QT. He turned out to be town though, so it's irrelevant.

I'm fine with posting our scum QT if quadz and JP agree.

Nah, I'd have to give Player of the Game to Reck, by a mile. He was very clearly the most accurate, and did the best job of leading people in the right direction. His opinions were scattershot throughout, but at the end of days, he landed on the right people, all the time.

*ahem* Who called Bill as scum? I caught him midgame and no bugger bothered to see it. Had he been the lynch after Vezo town would have been in a stronger position.

But I agree with Glork, the balance was off, it was a great game by all accounts, but after a run of spot on lynches to have the town win come down to what was basically a prisoners dilemma thing meant it went out on a bit of a damp squib.

Also, anyone who has yet to slap Chrono... please do so now.
