Game Specific Information

• This game is a semi-open. All potential roles are listed in the next post.
  
• The town is the offense, and the mafia is the defense. Each team may score only touchdowns.
  
• If a member of the defense is lynched, the offense scores a touchdown. If a member of the offense is lynched, the defense scores a touchdown. If no one is lynched, no one scores a touchdown during the day (including if someone is pardoned with the linebacker's ability).
  
• Both offense and defense can score during the night. Defense scores by causing a turnover. Offense scores if they accumulate 100 yards. (Yards carry over to the next night. Any yards gained in excess of 100 are lost and won't do anything)
  
• At least one RB, TE, and LB are in the game.
  There is a single QB in the game.

Lynches

• Lynches require a majority of votes. At a deadline, if there is no majority, there is no lynch. You may
  Vote: No Lynch
  . A no lynch requires enough no lynch votes to prevent a majority for a lynch.
  
• Once a person has been lynched, the game is in twilight until I post the death scene. Players may continue posting anything until then. The lynch cannot be undone.

Activity

• Players must post at least once every 72 hours or suffer a prod. Suffer enough prods and I will replace you.
  
• If you will be gone for 72 hours or more, let me know.
  
• Day one will have a three week deadline, subsequent days have automatic two week deadlines. These can be extended if it is requested.
  
• If you do not send me a night choice by deadline, you will do nothing that night.

Roles

Town/Offense

You are a Quarterback. Each night you must do one of three actions. Failure to submit an action will lose the Offensive 7 points and give them to the Defense.

• Throw a pass to a player:
  Target a player and throw the ball to them. If they are offense and can catch, the offense will gain yards. If they are defense and can catch, the pass will be intercepted. You can't throw to the same person two nights in a row.
  
• Hand the ball off:
  Hand the ball off to someone to gain yards. If there is no one who can run still on the field, you will fumble.
  
• Hold on to the ball:
  Keep the ball yourself. This wont net you any yards, but only a Defensive Lineman targeting you will cause a turnover.

You win with the Offense when all players on the Defense have left the field.

You are a Running Back. You can catch and run the ball to gain yards. You will gain 50 yards for the offense for running or catching the ball.
You win with the Offense when all players on the Defense have left the field.

You are a Tight End. You can catch the ball to gain 50 yards. In addition, each night you may perform one of these actions if your team has enough points. Using an action will subtract the corresponding number of points from your team's score.

• 7 points - Target a player to protect them from being inured during this night.
  
• 14 points - Target a player and see if they are on the Offense or Defense.
  
• 21 points - Target a player and injure them if they are on the Defense.

You win with the Offense when all players on the Defense have left the field.

You are an Offensive Guard. You have no special abilities and are unable to handle the ball.
You win with the Offense when all players on the Defense have left the field.

You are an Offensive Tackle. You have no special abilities and are unable to handle the ball.
You win with the Offense when all players on the Defense have left the field.

You are a Wide Receiver. You can catch the ball for 100 yards!
You win with the Offense when all players on the Defense have left the field.

You are a Back-up Quarterback. In the event that the Quarterback leaves the field, you will take over for them. You inherit all their abilities.
You win with the Offense when all players on the Defense have left the field.

You are a Fullback. You can run the ball for 50 yards. Each night you may target a player and prevent them from being injured at night.
You win with the Offense when all players on the Defense have left the field.

Mafia/Defense

You are a Linebacker. You can intercept the ball at night if it is thrown to you. In addition, each night you may perform one of these actions if your team has enough points. Using an action will subtract the corresponding number of points from your team's score.

• 7 points - Target a player and prevent them from performing a night action. This will not stop this player from running or catching for yards if they can catch or run the ball.
  
• 14 points - Intercepts a pass (if one is thrown) this night.
  
• 21 points - Target an additional player this night to injure them. This injury cannot be prevented.

I had pretty much just copy and pasted rules from another game I modded, but I just noticed that before it had the "at deadline, the player with the most votes will be lynched". This has been changed to "at deadline, if there is no majority, there is no lynch". Sorry for not catching that sooner.

Basically, now you need a majority at deadline or there won't be a lynch.

• This setup was cool and I like the concept, but I hate the fact that there's only really 1 town power role (yes, I am sour about it).
  
• Are you running this in a large?

Town kind of had two power roles. The TE, obviously, and the QB acted like a weak cop. They could confirm some people (WR's, RB, TE) as town and the CB acted like a framer. The offensive guards and tackles and defensive tackle acted like investigation immune townies,
I'll think about running it as a large, it's quite complicated (as seen by messing up the night actions the last night) and I don't have much free time. Inhim also PM'ed me after he died, about how he intercepted the ball, but it said in his PM he couldn't handle the ball. I meant that to mean he couldn't recover fumbles, and he would be able to intercept, but my PM was very unclear. I don't think it affected anything, though.

As far as setup stuff, I kind of just hoped no one would ask "what if ...." basically anything, because there really was no good way to have multiple TE's using a common pool of points. I'm not sure how to balance that out in a large where there would be multiple PRs. Other things, the QB keeping the ball really doesn't do anything, I couldn't think of anything clever for that (other than getting sacked, which doesn't provide much incentive to do it). If anyone has any brilliant ideas for how to resolve these questions (or other things you thought of) please let me know, it will greatly aide a future large game with these mechanics.

Gameplay wise, I thought it was unfortunate that the Linebacker was lynched day one, bye bye mafia PR, and the Tight End was killed night two so the points wound up being mostly for show. I actually meant to start both sides out with 7 points, but I forgot about it until like mid day one, and then I figured it was too late. I think Kdub did a good job for the scumteam, but he had a lot of help from the town, but none from shotty.

Role wise, Kdub was a Cornerback, Mari was the Running Back, Raj was a Wide Receiver, and the rest you all know.
