Forgot to add my activity disclaimer.
I'll try to post at least once every 24 hours. However, I'm about to face an onslaught of midterms and reports, so I'll probably be on V/LA fairly often for the next couple of weeks or so... I'll announce those as necessary. Walls of text will scare Equinox away and extend any V/LA she's on.
Oh, yeah. Don't end Day 1 ridiculously early plskthx.-

OH HAI.
Apparently, my questions have garnered me popularity votes. I love you guys, too. I'll answer the questions and explain (not that there's much to say there) tomorrow. I'm going to give some of the others a chance to respond without me influencing them.
In the meantime...
Unvote, Vote: singersigner
It's 7 to lynch; you would have been the third vote. Afraid of getting caught in the wrong bandwagon?-

That's a very interesting reaction. (Antihero's is interesting, too.)
I will answer the questions. I can promise you that. I am just not answering them right now. Besides, standard questions... standard procedures, right?
Also, you commented before Nexus's vote, which would've made you the third vote, had you voted.-

I did some metagaming.
HEY, QUADZ08. REMEMBER MINI 1005?
Didn't someone do an RQS in that game, too? With the same question? Oh, yeah, didn't someone else accuse Tasky of trying to rolefish?
You've been through this discussion before, scumbag. You know better.

If it were my intention to rolefish with that question, it would not have mattered whether or not I answered first. So, tell me, how is waiting for everyone else to answer -- something I have done for all the games in which I have done an RQS -- going to benefit the hypothetical Equiscum? If it benefits scum so much, why do I see the vast majority of players doing an RQS answering their own questions last? Further, if that particular question benefits scum so much, why do I see town players ask it so much?quadz08 wrote:Yes, in fact, I do remember Mini 1005. I happen to agree with the fact that it can be construed as rolefishing, and you not answering (which you still haven't done) is not helping that case.
You're chasing after a red herring, and you didn't have a problem with the questions (save for your "OH THE WIFOM" response) when you first answered them. You brought it up onlyaftersingersigner did.
No other comments? >_>Pomegranate wrote:And Lowell is scummy as usual.

Everybody hold on to your hats... This is going to be one mind-blowing revelation!

4. Order
The one person who refused to answer #1 because it was not "game-related" received +10 scum points. It's tied to question #2. I asked to get a sense of how active the game was going to be. Standard question, etc.
#3 wasnotgame-related. Given all the controversy that just happened, nothing I say is going to look good, butfuck it,it is what it is. I actually didn't care how you answered; as several of you have already mentioned, it's a WIFOM question that one can't use in any sort of analysis. I threw it in there because it was a standard RQS question. The giant stink you lot (and by "you lot" I really mean only two of you) made over this is telling, so I'll give singersigner points for that one.
#4wasgame-related, but I may have masked it a bit too much for it to be of any use. I'm working on a question that would tell me how certain players think, which would hypothetically lead me to NK analysis later in the game, without making it look like that was my intention. We'll see how this run goes.
/in before "Equinox crumpled under pressure! She's scum!"
I'm a bit more than miffed that I even got pressure for thisshit. It's reasonable to expect it in a newbie game, but here? Come on.-

Quote wall incoming.
To actually address RQS responses:
I forgot that I got into a huge quote war with you. Thanks for reminding me to avoid getting you into that.Nobody Special wrote:1) Pacific
2) Walls. That's all I can say. I get a little quote-happy. Deal with it.
3) Any answer I might give would be very WIFOMish, so, I plead the Fifth.
4) Chaos all the way, baby.
Possible future lurking from #2, but I do that too, so who cares. >_>Zed wrote:1) Eastern.
2) Active, I have the time to check the thread multiple times a day. I might not post everytime, though.
3) I'll tell you later.
4) Chaos ftw.
Makes sense. As long as Mafia doesn't interfere with school.singersigner wrote:1. Pacific...NS, where're you from?
2. I've been a lot more active before these past couple of weeks. Not as much with school and band taking over now...but enough to invest in my games...if that makes sense...?
3. Pick another question.
4. I'm OCD. So order.
/shrugquadz08 wrote:1. What is your time zone? Arizona (so Pacific, right now)
2. How much activity can we expect from you? a pretty good amount; I'm pretty busy, but check in regularly

4. Chaos or order? I'm watching "Watchmen," so I'm gonna say chaos.
+25 brownie points to Sevei for her response to #3. +10 town points to Sevei for response to #2 -- that's transparency, folks.Sevei wrote:1. What is your time zone? CST
2. How much activity can we expect from you? Um, 2-3 quality posts a day?
3. What is your favorite role? I've always rather fancied the role of Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing.
4. Chaos or order? Chaos, Bebe. (But in the totally chaotic good way.)
Good luck with your job search.Nexus wrote:1. What is your time zone? GMT
2. How much activity can we expect from you? Depends on whether I get a job. Helping out at a school for two weeks, but should affect majorly
3. What is your favorite role? Nice try
4. Chaos or order? Chaos
To summarize:
Four players in Pacific, one in Central, and one in Eastern, so I have a pretty good idea of what to expect from these folks. GMT I'm not so good with, but I can deal with that.
Five players answered "chaos," and two players answered "order." One of you decided to discount your response by claimingWatchmeninfluenced you, but whatever. Sevei claiming "chaotic good" is interesting. Dunno what it means. +5 town points to the others who put up with the question and just answered it.
Thanks for answering.-

Six* players are with chaos and two players are with order. Looks like a losing battle, singersigner.-

V/LA until Wednesday
Real-life load surge. I'd initially planned on replacing out, even PMed a couple of people to ask if they were willing, but I think I'll try this instead of flaking out so soon. Right now, I'm looking at cold meds and an increase in workload for school, so my access is going to be limited for the next couple of weeks. I should have foreseen this (except the sniffles and headaches), but I was stupid. Anyhow, V/LA 'till Wednesday to see how much of this I can get taken care of; it would be a lot better for me if I didn't try to multi-task. If this doesn't work out, search for replacements will commence again.
I'll address the stuff I need to catch up on later today... assuming I don't crash. And if I crash, I'll address them on Wednesday.-

Okay.
I fail to see the deliberate misrepresentation. Antihero's post made perfect sense to me when I read it; the first quote from singersigner is the most recent post to which he's responding, and his response consisted of two quotes from singersigner. Those two quotes were in chronological order.Sevei wrote:You quote Singer out of order and then dismiss her calling you out about it; I have read and reread that post of yours and it still looks like a deliberate misrep.
Some do; some don't. It's one of those things players need to check prior to doing it.Nexus wrote:I always thought that every rule set had "No spoilers" and suchlike?
If I were to compare your response to the other responses I've seen in other games (including my own) to that particular RQS procedure, yes, you were pressing the issue. I don't think that's scummy, though.singersigner wrote:I stand by what I said. I wasn't insisting. I made an RVS vote for the random reason that Equinox hadn't answered her own questions yet. Then in response to her sayingwhyshe hadn't answered her questions, I said "why not?" Then I said ^this.
Well, nowAntihero wrote:That was an, and that should be obvious from the post. You are really not building a case off of THAT are you?honestcopy/paste mistakeIam.
This cannot be a copying and pasting mistake. The order in which you pasted the three quotes from singersigner was not entirely chronological, but it was perfectly logical. (See above.)
I can accept claiming that it was a "fail" because it resulted in two players misunderstanding your intention. However, now you say it was an "honest mistake." Really?
On the other hand, we don't have much to go on when we're reading you if you go with this tactic. Transparency is pro-town.Zed wrote:I like to watch how things play out without my intervention, because that gives me more to go on.
Also, if you actively intervene, you not only get more to go on, but you also can trust the results of your efforts because you know your own alignment.
[/soapbox]
Overly defensive?springlullaby wrote:- Equinox is not getting town points for her over defensive reaction to people not liking her questions. Why are you not content with your questionnaire getting reaction since it is what you were apparently aiming for?Seriously?
You also seem to be under the impression I was reaction fishing with the questions. I was, to an extent. All of that was explained already, and I'm happy with the responses I've gotten so far. What I neither wanted nor expected were the noobish "OMG SCUM" responses to what I thought was a standard RQS.
Record-breaking two votes. Too scared to pile on?springlullaby wrote:FOS Equinox, I haven't counted, but seems there is plenty of votes already there.
Are you in the habit of making multiple FoSes like that, springlullaby?
Question: You don't think it's strange that someone went to the trouble of explaining each RQS question? You even gave me town points!a2rudeboy wrote:Equi for me is getting town points, even though the exchange over the questions rifled me a little bit. I will say however, that that is the first time i have seen someone rationalize their thoughts behind their RQS, which is refreshing in my mind.
Let's start with this:
SCUM: Antihero > quadz08 > Pomegranate > Nexus
Antihero: Backpedaling.
quadz08: Stretching a case on me based on my RQS questions. This may just be due to a difference in opinion about theory (which would make his attack a null tell), but I'm not happy with how he chose to tag-team with singersigner (which is a possible scum tell). He's disappeared, though I saw him post elsewhere on the site that he was busy IRL at the moment.
Pomegranate and Nexus: To steal from Sevei, they're "commenting from the peanut gallery." Nexus has been slightly more helpful than Pomegranate... but only slightly. Need more comments on the past 5 pages.
I'm either null or leaning town on the rest.

Oh. Wewerethinking of the same post, just not the same area. I saw that the first time I read it but not the second time. /self-slap
Yeah, that is an honest mistake. But why the discussion about quoting "out of order"...? Mind is blown at the moment. Saving this for after my V/LA.

Reviewing the argument you and Sevei were having with him. I was under the impression it was over how he ordered your quotes, but now that I realized he'd actually messed up the quote tags, I may have missed the gist of the argument entirely... so I have to look again, but after Wednesday.
singersigner: It was a revote. My vote was on quadz08 earlier, and then I switched to Antihero when I thought he backpedaled. Now that Antihero has explained that it wasn't a backpedal, Antihero isn't my top suspect anymore.-

No wonder you were absent. I'd wondered.
Good to know I got a few town reads right. Scum reads, though...
Sorry about replacing out. To be quite honest, I was apathetic about this game on Day 1, and when I tried to read the thread to catch up and couldn't understand anything due to meds, I gave up. So, yeah, this marks my second flake-out. Many thanks to Uite for agreeing to replace me. <3
