I am also interested in knowing why Equinox thinks his answers would influence ours. Perhaps you were just waiting to see if anyone would actually answer your rolefishing question, before putting your own answer out there?

Yes, in fact, I do remember Mini 1005. I happen to agree with the fact that it can be construed as rolefishing, and you not answering (which you still haven't done) is not helping that case.

Ok, I'm back. The homework monster has been subdued, at least temporarily.

Right now, the scummiest player seems to be Zed. The singer/Equinox(now Uite) thing is mostly a null-tell, as others have said. (On that note, HI UITE!!!)

Zed, your ISO #6 is... a stretch, at best, and overall you're presenting your hunch as much more than just a hunch. You most definitely are grasping at straws with that case, and then you deny that you're doing so. I don't discredit the
possibility
, but right now, there's almost no point in bringing it up at all. Speculating about scumbuddies on D1? Come on, now. It just seems like an attempt to produce content, while not using any actual evidence.

In response to Uite:

Why were you so eager to go after Equinox for rolefishing? See second question
How is it rolefishing in a game without special roles? ... That's actually a really good question. I hadn't thought about it that way.
Why is the singer/Equinox thing mostly a null-tell, when you attacked her over basically the same thing? The argument in itself was a null-tell for both of them, was what I was attempting to say.

Zed:

Wait, let me get this straight:
Zed, ISO #6 wrote:Now I'll share my hunch. Lowell and Antihero are scum buddies.
Zed, ISO #16 wrote:The stupid half was adding Antihero into it because while I was slightly suspicious of him at the time, I don't think they're scum buddies.
You said they were scumbuddies, and now you're saying that saying one of them was the stupid half, and the other was the serious half? That doesn't even make sense. You attempted to make a specific case connecting them as scumbuddies.

Uite wrote:Those aren't answers. Why were you so eager to go after Equinox? Why didn't you stop to think about what rolefishing actually is before you did so?
I was eager to go after Equinox because in my head (due to my non-existent experience with open setups) her question could've been fishing for roles. I didn't think about the implications of a question like that in an open game versus in a closed game, because it didn't occur to me that there
could
be a difference.

Uite wrote:But you do know that in open setups all the roles are known right? And that that's why they're called Open? Considering the setup is crucial in a game like this, I find it very hard to believe you weren't aware of it. Also your "non-existent experience" is a blatant lie, since you're also in another ongoing open game, and that's been going on longer than this one.
Yes, I am aware of the setup and the fact that all roles are known. I simply did not think to consider it, because I've never had to before.

As to the experience thing, I am currently in two Open games: this one, and one other, which started 2 weeks prior to this one. It was still in Day One (or maybe at the very, very beginning of Day 2, I don't remember exactly) when this game started. Saying I have "non-existent experience" might not be technically true, but it might as well be.

Zed wrote:But it isn't self-preservation, its more like town-preservation. It is more beneficial for the town for an innocent to save themselves then it is for an innocent to let themselve die, usually. Sometimes the townie is just a distraction, and I don't think I'm all that distracting here. So yeah, I'm going to try to save myself.
No, Zed, it's more beneficial for the townie to try to get someone scummier lynched. Self-preservation isn't going to save you here; quite the opposite.
Zed wrote:quadz- Yeah, my original hunch had them together. Then later I changed things and I didn't think of them that way anymore. I thought some of my other posts made that clear, but I guess not.

When and why did you change your mind?

And no, I didn't repeat what you said. It seemed to me that you were saying "yeah, I
am
self-preserving, because it helps town," whereas I said that being self-preserving does not help town. If I've misunderstood you, please correct me.

While the reasoning was pretty weak, it was an attempt at scumhunting, noting interaction between players of the game....Something quad has not done at all up to this point. Yet he is attacking Zed for creating a weak case.
When all you do is tear down other's cases without building any yourself, you aren't helping the town, and there's a scummy motivation for this.
I felt like Zed's weak case was pretty scummy, personally. She essentially created what I think is a non-existent connection in order to make both other players look scummy. She later backtracked pretty severely on this, as I pointed out in #187. She later said she changed her mind because she was more awake and capable of rational thinking later on; I'm not a huge fan of that excuse.
chesskid3 wrote:ISO 13: Buddying with Uite. "That's actually a really good question, I hadn't thought about it that way"
The continued attack on Zed reads to me as opportunisticly attacking a weaker player who is stumbling, not as someone who is trying to actually hunt scum.
Right, OK. Somebody makes a good point which I hadn't thought about and I admit to that; OBVIOUSLY buddying.
And yes, heavens forbid I point out a clear contradiction. It's obvious that I'm just tunnelling.

As I've said at least once before, I simply didn't think about it. I've never had to before. I know this isn't an excuse for NOT thinking about it, but it's not a scum-tell, just a stupid-tell.

Yes, that must have been my insidious plan, because what you said I did and what actually happened are so similar. I pointed out somebody as scummy, putting myself out there and very much in the light. You say I started a bandwagon without being in the back-and-forth at all, which is CLEARLY false.

I disagree that I haven't done scumhunting. The case I made on Zed is legitimate scumhunting, and if you disagree, then we have different definitions of scumhunting.

I'm sorry that Lowell and Antihero are on your wagon, but that seems to me like it's their decision, not mine. I'm confused as to how this is a scumtell for me.
