When I get home with my Bible, I'll putt out the passage I'm referring to. That's not one of the ones that I have memorized.

And you're lucky that you're not in the religion class I aide.

Pagan ! Isn't your avatar a photo of us (or should I say me ?) in a religious classroom, by the way ?

Oh and I know who Joseph and Mary are (irl, not in the game)... Image
For now, I'll ask Thoth to come up with reasons why I should be voting for him, and I'd like him to respond to those.

Anyways... in other news... there's a game of mafia going on...

Fritzler's backing up of Squonk's claim is good enough for me.

May turn out I'm wrong - but we'll get a 2-for-1 at some point down the line if that is the case.

Back to my previous tack -
unvote, vote: SSB

Due to the dropoff in posting, I am imposing a
retractable deadline for Wednesday, November 23rd, at midnight
. Using plurality voting rules, the
minimum number of votes required for deadline lynch will be 5
; however that person must have at least 50% of the
cast votes
. If 7 other votes are scattered elsewhere, no lynch will occur. An uptick in posting will result in a retraction of the deadline.

Since there are 15 players,
a normal lynch may still be achieved at any time by 8 votes on one person.
Any questions, let me know.

o my.
Exodus 1:7-22 wrote:But the children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly, multiplied and grew exceedingly mighty; and the land was filled with them.
Now there arose a new king over Egypt
, who did not know Joseph. And he said to his people, "Look, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we; "come, let us deal shrewdly with them, lest they multiply, and it happen, in the event of war, that they also join our enemies and fight against us, and so go up out of the land." Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh supply cities, Pithom and Raamses. But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were in dread of the children of Israel. So the Egyptians made the children of Israel serve with rigor. And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage-in mortar, in brick, and in all manner of service in the field. All their service in which they made them serve was with rigor. Then the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of whom the name of one was Shiphrah and the name of the other Puah; and he said, "When you do the duties of a midwife for the Hebrew women, and see them on the birthstools, if it is a son, then you shall kill him; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live." But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the male children alive. So the king of Egypt called for the midwives and said to them, "Why have you done this thing, and saved the male children alive?" And the midwives said to Pharaoh, "Because the Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women; for they are lively and give birth before the midwives come to them." Therefore God dealt well with the midwives, and the people multiplied and grew very mighty. And so it was, because the midwives feared God, that He provided households for them.
So Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, "Every son who is born you shall cast into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive."
Matthew 2:1-22 wrote:
Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king
, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him."
When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled
, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. So they said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet: 'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.' " Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. And
he sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also
." When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod
, they departed for their own country another way. Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying,
"Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him."
When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt I called My Son."
Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.
Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying: "A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted, Because they are no more." But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, "Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child's life are dead." Then he arose, took the young Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel. But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea instead of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned by God in a dream, he turned aside into the region of Galilee.
ok the first one isnt too important to this game, but it was the story you were mentioning. then the second one is important because its Matthew's account of the wisemen-herrod. note matthew is the only gospel that mentions the wise men and herrod.

Maybe. I'm not sure. I've got the Passion that I still got to watch first. I got it, but I just haven't got around to it yet.

In order to move before the deadline, could we please get a wagon rolling ?
I presented a case on Darquiel and haven't seen anything concrete on anyone else. If someone thinks he has anything better, please speak up. Else, please join for at least the sake to avoid a last-minute lynch before deadline, which is quite often disastrous.
For now, I'll ask Thoth to come up with reasons why I should be voting for him, and I'd like him to respond to those.
