except i really dont understand why GW would push him for a claim... knowing that he is town (if you're telling the truth) and knowing that there may not be enough support for his lynch. why the hell wouldn't you try to move the lynch somewhere else? unless i'm missing something, that seems really stupid to do what you did. it's possible im missing something, i guess.

What you are missing, Podium, is that while you were pushing for two other lynches, people were not following you. Implosion was STILL the main lynch. Which meant, come deadline, he was going to die. Had I tried steering it away from him, someone would link us, but not as masons, saying I was chainsaw defending him. Most likely, it would have been you or Zd to do it. Probably you. So, instead, the better thing is to just let the claim happen early enough for the wagon to be shifted.

I view Day 1 as primarily an information gathering exercise. My primary goal is to get as much of a read on as many people as possible. Implosion hadn't really pinged my scumdar during reread, but his recent posts have indeed been bad. Coupled with the fact that my strongest Town read thinks it's a good avenue of inquiry I am inclined to lend him my support, and hopefully in the process move implosion out of the ??? category one way or the other. (It also gives me a chance to see how Fate acts with more blind votes behind him) An implosion votes seems a sufficient info gathering action, prompting me to go for it since I didn't have any more promising alternatives in mind. (As I said, I am caught up, but have only begun analysis)
I feel no need for my vote to be restricted to players I already think are scummy.

Well there was some, but then I saw your flip in SuperHero and I realized that you weren't scum.

Masons are always naturally scummy to me though. Their play is always tinged with a (well I have ___ to back me up, so I don't need to do things I normally would do as town).
