Dram can't resist making a catchup post and NOT attacking his buddies. He's like me when he's scum - he knows who the bad guys are, so it's easier to appear townie if you're hunting the bad guys, therefore he buses. It's his MO when he's scum. He's done it in countless games with me.

But how do you differentiate when he is scum/town from catch up posts? Does he never post votes in catch up posts as town?

More importantly, for some reason everyone seems to be assuming that there's all these magical traps against MCing, or that it won't work for whatever reason. What if the Mods actually said to themselves "So since we're telling them there's 4 of each colour, so we better make the Scum better than normal to compensate for the fact that the Town are obviously going to mass colourclaim, and so get an edge over a standard 1-4-4-16 game."

Fluff post since the argument is about the numbers of scum in a hypothetical mass claim and not the roles each scum may have. Who do you think is scum?

Call it gut. I know dram better than anyone else here on this site (for obvious reasons) and I've rarely ever been wrong about him. If you look at Caffwagon Invitational (link in my wiki), dram was scum from D1 and you can read in the mason QT how I pegged him as scum but didn't want to be a NK threat since I was a mason so I defended him.

First off: don't just make blanket reads and ask OTHERS for their thoughts. That's called letting people make a case for you.

Second off, your list has Starbuck, which is plain wrong. Vi gets it.

Third, your list is missing dramonic & NPIAU. Unless you want to fill those two into your lurker slots.

I think your read on The Stove is interesting. I feel like they've been staying pretty under-the-radar and out of the fray, but I'm not sure if that's actual scumminess or lack of motivation to get really involved in the game.

SK reads are kinda lulzy. Plus there's no need to be SK hunting yet, IMO, especially when we have a giant ass list of scumbags that need rope.

Pressuring at this point in D1 is kind of useless because it takes 12 votes to get people close to a lynch.
Just lynch them; even if dramonic's Town I know from experience that lynching him carries its own therapeutic effect.

I don't know much about scum CHOOSING to be in a hydra, but I know AGar would have picked scum and I don't really think PZ would have lobbied hard for Town.

Plum is probscum for being in her own little world for so long.
MoI and KK are scum essentially by default, plus MoI has the boost of being scummy anyway.

I read Plum as town. I'd like to think I know her well enough to say this with absolute certainty. But I don't. But that doesn't change my read. At all.
And this isn't me defending her just because, though I do admit I like playing with her/modding with her/ etc.
