I think a lot of the issues people are having with the game could have been remedied by a simple solution: this game really needed to be advertised as a bastard mod game (and not just because of the cult).

That more than just the mod and back-up should have looked over the game. Take a look at the first post of the Large Theme Mod thread.

Before requesting to start signups you need to do two things:
1. Get your game setup looked over and reviewed by someone who has experience in large theme game setups.
2. Find a qualified back-up or co-mod. (You cannot mod a large theme game on mafiascum without a co or back-up mod.)

Those are two separate items.

I still fail to see your point, other than you inserting your own opinion. And if inserting your opinion is your only point, then stop trying to make it look like more than it is. To me all it looks like you're doing is jumping on the "this game sucked" bandwagon when in fact you have nothing more to say than "yeah me too" with a side of "no u" if anyone says anything back.

I agree that the game could have used a little bit more reviewing and refining. Is there anything beyond that?

being revealed. That was one of the worst things for this game, imo. Even though dana took it back later, the damage had been done. That coupled with the 4-per-faction thing was what really screwed over the yellow team. Again, the red team needed no help screwing themselves.

the signup thread, which was pages upon pages of advance setup speculation.

For example: Andrius hopped on the wiki and tried to find out exactly which Lantern Corps would be most likely to have a Mason Recruiter. He chose Violet as his second choice. Unbeknownst to him, if he'd have chosen it as his first, he'd very likely have gotten the Mason Recruiter role. But that is just one example of people playing a game who care about the setup and want to inform themselves so that they can better play the game.

I didn't know which way you guys were planning to go with the game. Black Lantern Corps could have easily just been it's own faction from the get go without a recruiting ability or you could have just pitted the lantern corps against each other just as Kats states below.

This. It didn't matter WHAT rules we had in play for who he could recruit. The only scum he tried to recruit was unrecruitable. Other than that, he always recruited town. Yeah, maybe an even- or odd- night only recruitment would have been better, but he would have almost definitely lost that way without Town even lynching any Black other than him, and him only at the very end. That doesn't seem like a very powerful anti-town faction.
