Ok, getting caught up. This is being done on my phone so I apologize for the lack of quote tags/links.

First, voting blocs seem like a really bad idea, especially with four scum. Can anyone show an example of this working well?

I'm not liking mist's play at all. On page 3 she asks when the seriousness starts, when there were clearly some things that could be commented on. Then, she makes an inane comment about shadows. Now, she's joining the jackalope wagon because he's following others without good evidence. Sorry, but I'm not exactly sure what the excellent evidence against jackalope is that merits being put at l-2 already. I understand the concerns of him being non-committal, but mist's vote just seems opportunistic considering the rest of her play thus far.

Nika, how is it that jackalope claimed scum?

Dammit I didn't mean to submit that yet. I wanted to add this--

Ice, it seems very odd that you don't have a specific idea of who might be scum on bloc. Didn't you say that scum might want to start the bloc for x and y reasons? If any scum are on there, either one of them must be don, or they are on there by total accident. So specifically, why are you not voting don?

don, slow down? This game is agonizingly slow. How long does it take to read 6 pages that have almost no content in them?

Not necessarily start, but maybe join or profit from.

I'm not voting for don simply because he seems to try to start a voting block in any game he's in, so I don't see it as a scumtell in his case.

Conspiracy-- Last game as mafia: http://mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16263
One of my last games as town: http://67.222.17.61/forum/viewtopic.php ... highlight=
I'm returning from a bit of a hiatus, and since coming back I've only had two games and both as scum. This town game isn't very long but I was there start to finish. Feel free to look me up in the archives if you want other examples.

Ice--but you weren't talking about joining or profiting from the voting bloc, you were talking about there already being scum
on
the bloc. If that were so, don would have to be one of them and chosen others, or, if don were town, he'd have chosen scum by complete accident, so... how is it you feel so confident there is scum on bloc?

don, can you give an example of a voting block being effective? Do you have any sort of idea what the success rate of these are?

If I was werewolf why would I claim it? I was just joking around. I just ment werewolves FTW because many games had werewolves in it.

Wow, it's like you didn't read any of that. I know why you think it can be useful for scum, but that does not explain how you can feel so confident that there are indeed scum on it, especially if you think the person who created it is town.

Mist, is there anything else you'd care to contribute?

"don, can you give an example of a voting block being effective? Do you have any sort of idea what the success rate of these are?"

couple of games, can't remember numbers or names. but a diligent profile of my site history should reveal them. and no, no idea of the success rate, though i haven't seen a game with a voting bloC where scum has prevailed.

"don, Can you post your last game where you won as mafia? and one where you won as town? I have a suspicion, but I want to see your playstyle first."

its your suspicion. i'll let you do the legwork. i am not a big believer in meta, so feel free to experiment.

"don, slow down? This game is agonizingly slow. How long does it take to read 6 pages that have almost no content in them?"

6 pages takes a block of uninterupted time. i don't get many of those. once i am caught up, staying current is not as difficult. but if there's no content then i will simply not read those pages. how does that sound?

Bolded means the vote was added between the last votecount and this one. struckthrough means the vote was removed between the last votecount and this one.

I know that Chevre I just did that so people can see the current vote count a lot easier. That seems very hard to read to me.

ConSpiracy I am town. Is that townish enough? Nah jk but I don't know what I should do to please you. I dont have any thing I need to point out. Nothing went off on my scumdar yet. I will be sure to post when something does though.

My initial vote was based on a misunderstanding. When he said, "Especially if you're scum," I took it as an accusation. TJ corrected me, but then went on to scum it up with his votes on ConSpiracy, so my vote stayed.

This. Usually I'd attribute this kind of whining to scum, but I'm too amazed that he is whining at all to actually get a read from it.

Your last post before you started bitching about the game's speed was two days and two pages prior. If you can't keep up with a page a day, go back to the newbie queue.
That said, you seem to be posting from a phone. Is that the case?
