We are not IC together because Baby said we were different faction ICs, gambiting his entire team's game on MoI (his faction buddy), Me, and ABR being the ICs. This means neither of us is Riders.

LLD and Exe are the last of the Skulls, so neither of us are skulls.

Since neither of us is Skull or Rider, we cant BOTH be IC...

— Day Four: Planning and Execution

He never saw it coming.

On the way to the concession stand (hey, everyone needs to eat, even in times like these), the hapless citizen strode warily along one of the park's twisted myriad of paved pathways. One could never be too careful, especially in times like these. But as he passed a certain clump of bushes, he heard a sudden shuffle just behind him and to the right. He turned his head in fear...

Just in time for a strong pair of arms to lock around his head and neck. One grabbed his jaw, one held the back of his head in place. His eyes grew wide with hysteric panic, and he began to struggle. He did not realize until the split second before—what was about to happen...

With a sickening crack, the killer wrenched his victim's neck at an unnatural vector, snapping it like a glowstick at a night club. Which, coincidentally, was where the park staff found the young man's body that night when they opened; what remained of the body had been shoved into the audio closet... after having been butchered mercilessly.

The game was the same today, but the players were different. Paranoia had swept the park after people began dying. Usually the even-headed people were the first to start planning. And usually the people with the guns were the ones who were most paranoid. It began to show.

Just the day before, a woman had been screaming about a man stabbing her in the back for his own gain; today, it was a man who brought the same charge against a woman. He implored the citizens to put her out of business, because she had been killing them night after night in a series of planned murders. She came out with eyes blazing, accusing him of exactly the same thing! As the park-goers of Metropolis looked around at each other, they didn't know what to do, or who to believe. And so the man began to rough up the lady, telling her things about her that he'd always hated, and shoving her around.

"I'll be free from you now," he said with a smug grin. "Just watch. They'll see my side of things, and you'll be just like that jilted lovergirl from yesterday. Friendless. Brainless. Helpless. Hopeless! You'll die by their hands, and I'll be right there to watch, laughing all the way."

And with that, he punched her in the face, and as her head snapped back, blood streamed out her nose and down her face, marring the beauty that had once graced her visage with the crimson stain of guilt and betrayal.

And he was not the only one. Another stepped in to strike a blow at her, and another. One of the first was the man with the gun from yesterday who'd shot the girl screaming betrayal, and another was the man who'd taken a baseball bat to the head of yet another woman, but on the first day. Everyone was getting into it, and began to beat the living daylights out of this poor girl.

She screamed at them, "He's part of the Inner Circle! Can't you see? He's orchestrating this whole thing and you are walking right into a trap!"

Another one this time, a girl, stepped in with some metal knuckles and punched her in the stomach. She coughed up blood.

"Why didn't you strike the first blow on him, then?" someone asked.

"Because, I thought I could trust him! At least,

, anyway! I was... I was..." her voice faltered.

A newcomer to the scene had appeared in front of her. He held a knife, and he walked toward her with a silent but purposeful stride.

He plunged the knife into her heart, silencing her pleas.

He'd been watching. Waiting. Observing everything that had gone on.

And now he had seen it happen, and he was going to find out who had done it. Never mind that the person was wearing a mask; never mind that he'd been led on what felt like a wild goose chase across the city for almost half an hour: He knew it this time. This one was one of

them

. He'd been tailing them in his undercover patrol car for miles, through boroughs, under bridges, at stoplights, and finally, crossing back and forth between city and state property at the edge of the city's border. When the luxury sedan turned south and traversed the border one more time, heading directly toward its destination, he smiled. They were leading him home.

Nearly twenty miles outside the city limits, the vehicle he was tailing slowed to turn onto a dirt road, hidden until that point by overgrowth, more of a game trail than a street. The rough packed dirt was full of bumps, and the car's tires sent up loads of dust. He kept his distance, making sure to stay carefully out of sight and hearing. Creeping along at an extremely slow rate of speed, he came to a stop before he crested a hill, wary of making himself a silhouette in case they were scouting behind them even at this point. Looking at the road, he could see the other car's tire tracks continue on over the top, and in the sky he watched the dust trail intently. It continued for another minute at least, becoming fainter and fainter. But soon it came to a stop, and the trail dissipated.

Elated, he stepped out of his car, checking his weapon and ammunition. He went around back to the trunk, and pulled out a bulletproof vest. A necessity in times like these. He reminded himself that such a devious organization would undoubtedly have taken the same precaution, so he reminded himself to shoot for the head, if bad came to worse.

He crept to the edge of the hill, watching carefully for any movement as his line of sight peaked the horizon and spread down the other side. A farmhouse, old and by the look of it, abandoned for years, stood a few hundred yards down a slight slope, in the middle of an otherwise barren hillside. And parked just next to it: the vehicle he had tailed for over an hour now. He scouted around: There were trees in a forest nearby, and scattered shrubbery speckled the landscape, but there was no obvious path of cover from the foliage to the structure.

He decided some was better than none, and chose the path with the greatest amount of cover (which was still sparse, by anyone's standards), and sneaked toward the farmhouse, weapon drawn.

As he drew nearer and nearer, he watched the windows, and cracks in the doors, for any sign of movement; for any flash of light, perhaps off a metal gun barrel waiting to end him. But nothing was there to be seen. He reached the front door without event, and his heart let out a little sigh of relief. He put his ear up to the door...

Voices, speaking gently and in hushed tones. He was listening to the killers at this very moment. His pulse began to quicken: They were discussing who they were admitting to all manner of horrible deeds, and discussing what the next plan would be! Heart now pounding in his chest, he decided that it would be better for him to sneak around to an alternate entrance so as to avoid any booby traps they might have set at the main one. Halfway around the building, he found a window with no panes left, and slipped inside. The voices were louder now.

He listened to the conversation for another few seconds, and was about to make his move, but then the topic turned: They began to discuss who they would kill next. His blood ran cold. He heard intimate details about each and every person they discussed; some were things that nobody could have known. And then his heart skipped a beat as he heard his own name.

"Him? Nah, he's too valuable at this point," one of the voices said. "We've tricked him before, and we can do it again. He can help us lead everyone else off a cliff, and by that time, it'll be too late for anyone to stop us."

A soft chuckle escaped the lips of a more sinister-voiced conspirator.

"What makes you think that he's not being tricked at this very moment?" the voice intoned.

His blood froze in its veins.

"What do you mean?" asked the first voice again.

"Don't play coy," said the deeper voice. "It's not very nice to keep him hanging. After all, you were the one who planned this op."

"Aw, why did you have to spoil it? I wanted to see the look on his face!"

"No, it's gone on quite long enough." the deep voice replied, and then it gave a command, "Take him."

And at that moment, the man knew he was a goner. He knew it even before he felt the cold steel of a pistol barrel come to rest against his sweating temple. He cursed to himself. All of his planning, all of his investigation, his tracking, his research; all of it, down the drain. This had all been an elaborate dry cleaning run. And he had walked right into the trap. And only now, at the end, did he understand.

He closed his eyes in bleak despondence as the bullet penetrated his skull.
