I predict the Sk will kill someone who hasn't voted, to try and stop us from blocking AND lynching.. Because of his previous behavior.

If ABR is really town who really believes Mute is scum, then there is ZERO reason to oppose a Mute Lynch/ABR Block. For that matter, there's no reason to opppose Mute Lynch/Anyone Block. In the event that town ABR is wrong about Mute, then there's good reason to SUPPORT the Lynch & Block plan.

Yesterday ABR might get away with bullshit like thinking block could stop a doc protect, but if he really thinks Mute is the last scum, then there are no kills to jail/doc tonight.

The only player with incentive to stop a block tonight is ABR-Nightrider (opposes ABR-Block) or ABR-DSK (opposes Anyone-Block).

I explicitly outlined all contingencies with how to react to them.

IF DSK kills someone who has not Striked someone, THEN remaining players Strike the consensus candidate for the Lynch. Block fails in this case. Equivalent to not doing the Lynch & Block plan.

The worst case would be if DSK kills KK AFTER Magua strikes. In that case, ABR & Mute both get roleblocked & there is no kill tonight. Tomorrow we repeat with one less player than today & guaranteed Block & Lynch. If Mute is scum, then we have 2 chances to lynch the SK. If Mute is not scum, then we have to lynch ABR the following day & get 1 chance to lynch the SK.

This is EQUIVALENT to the non Lynch & Block plan. If we flat out lynch Mute today & he is scum, then we have 2 chances to lynch the SK. If we are wrong & ABR is scum, then lynching Mute now means ABR kills someone tonight. We only get 1 chance to lynch the DSK.

With Magna, the level of WIFOM is just too high -- when you know he's not playing to your win condition, you can't take what he says at face value.

All that said, Mute's claimed antitown. Either we lynch him and he's the town IC, or we lynch him and he's the last mafia. Either way is good in my book.

This may be irrelevant (now), but I stand by what I said about ABR Day 2: if he's scum, he's expendable scum -- and now, all the expendable scum are dead. His play has been aggressive (to a fault), but it's been town.

So if ABR is blocked, Mute is lynched, flips town, and no kill happens... we think ABR did it is the gang banger? So then we lynch ABR, he flips town... the last gang member points and laughs at everyone. Did I get that hypothetical scenario down right?

So the gang member points and laughs at everyone as we lynch ABR and roleblock someone else. Either the gang member NEVER KILLS -- good -- or the gang member CLEARS THE SUSPECT WHO GOT ROLEBLOCKED. Seriously, how can anyone even argue with this plan?

Also, if Mute's claim is true and he is the town IC, that still leaves last night's kill is unaccounted for. ABR is wrong, and we should still roleblock someone. Best case, Mute is last scum, and the roleblock does nothing. Worst case, it either stops a kill or gives us a clear. And at this point, I'm very much wanting to roleblock Kise. ABR's reticence I'm willing to chalk up to him being ABR. Kise, not so much.

We were on a roll as town and scum was fucked even without the ICs revealing the scum teams. Once the town VIs were gone (Thad/Toog), we were able to focus on the real scum.

Shoot for ABR. He's confirmed town and confirmed non-doc at this point. He's probably going to be useless at finding you, but town can just play the numbers game and doesn't need a brain. Shooting blind and hitting a doc is only going to limit your future PoE. It also removes the doubt that Plum's been trying to place on Magua/KK (which, btw, is why Plum is number 3 for potential DSK).

One of them had been being very quiet.

Looking at her, standing by herself, off to the side, a decision was made by the indiscriminate killer. It was not the time to let the lurkers lurk and the skaters skate. It was time for blood. Walking over, the hunter buttered up the prey, making small talk with the girl, and just sharing some back-and-forth about how things had been going in the park, about how scary it was... and who would be likely to die next. When asked this question, the girl seemed thoughtful for a moment, and then decided to herself: "I don't know, actually. Everyone seems equally likely to be someone good, but at the same time I don't think I could trust anyone."

"With your luck, and standing alone by yourself like this, it's a wonder you're not dead already..." said the spider to the fly.

"Oh, but I'm covered. I've got a pistol in my boot that I can reach quickly if anything serious is going down." the fly replied.

"Really now..." the killer mused, smiling sweetly, all innocence. "And what would you do if, say, I were to do something like THIS--!" and rammed a huge hunting into her chest. She choked up blood almost immediately, only seconds after her lungs ruptured. The look in her eyes was nothing but shock and disbelief. There was no fear, for she already knew what had been done and what must unfortunately follow. And indeed it did follow.

The killer pulled the large knife out, and then plunged it in again. And again.

And again.

Choking up blood, she could barely talk as she struggled to utter: "I ... you ... who..." just before she expired.

The killer wiped the knife clean on the dead girl's clothes, and disappeared into the bushes.

You surrounded him. Each and every last one of you. Not all of you were wielding weapons of opportunity, but not a one of you was going to be left out of this.

"It's him." Kast said. "It's got to be."

"How do you know?" exclaimed others, mostly those too squeamish to get any blood on their own hands.

"It's in his eyes." he replied. "Something about them doesn't feel right."

Everyone looked into Mute's eyes, looking for something to betray his evil nature. It was obvious to those who perceived him in the condemning light of confirmation bias, but not so much to those who hadn't been paying much attention to the recent goings-on. But like sheep, they could be led to do even the most undesirable things as long as they blindly put their faith in the self-proclaimed leaders.

"It's him all right," Kast continued, and this time he hefted a 6-iron he'd found in AGar's old DJ booth. He ran at Mute with a gleam of rage in his own eyes, and swung for all he was worth at Mute's head. A meaty crack was heard as the victim's head snapped to the side; his neck had clearly been broken.

"Why did you kill him?" someone screamed? A woman, it sounded like. "He was an innocent man!"

"Was he?" Kast demanded, looking around at everyone, challenging them with his flashing eyes. "WAS HE?"

He reached into the newly dead body's trouser pockets and pulled out all manner of personal effects, attempting to ascertain the allegiance of the one he'd just slain, for any kind of proof that he'd been evil, malicious, or had connections with anyone else who they'd found had also been. And he found what he was looking for. A cell phone. He flipped it open, and began paging through the contacts list.

"Here!" he stood up, holding the phone so all could see. "He has contacts from the Night Riders on his phone!"

The rest of the crowd clustered around him intently.

"See? MagnaofIllusion, Baby Spice, AlmasterGM... they're all here." he spoke, vindicated in his own right. The naysayers in the crowd quickly fell silent, and no more dissent was made.

For they had killed another gang member.

And that's not all.


Suddenly, Mute's body fell to the floor, it began to shake... his mouth opened, and a ghostly green wisp began to emanate from his gaping throat. You could see his eyes, albeit closed, moving around violently, as if he was in R.E.M. sleep and was having a terrible nightmare. The heavy purple bruise on his left temple coupled with the unnatural angle of his head's attachment to the rest of the body completed the ghastly illusion.

And then it got really weird.

Partially unintelligible gibberish began to issue forth from his lips, speaking at a mile a minute. He spoke so fast it made most of your heads hurt, and you could feel sympathy for him regardless of what you could hear him admitting he'd done to you. The spirit of his body was making him ramble on and on about the killings they'd planned, and executed with military precision. Where had it gone wrong, where was it still going wrong? He mumbled on and on, and finally, you began to understand. He

was

the one... like Kast had said, but in a different way. Not the one who deceived you all, the one who had lied and killed you in your sleep... he was the one who could set you free, and teach you the ways of the world in such a way that your mind would transcend earthly things. The one who could lead the way.

But all of a sudden, in the midst of his rambling, a sharp, clear voice was heard.

"Enough!" Kast shouted, and advanced again toward Mute's body. You moved to stop him, indignant that he would harm the one who could show the way to all of you. But he did not listen, and shouted at each of you, throwing you off of himself and brandishing the club as if he'd never let you stop him from killing the already dead body that lay in front of you. And he got through. Standing over the body, he swung with the already bloody club, again and again, battering Mute's still-mumbling visage even as it spoke; destroying bone structure and rending flesh from flesh. Only when Mute's head was a bloody pulp did he cease his repeated blows. And suddenly, you no longer felt the way you had before. The voices in your head had stopped.

And suddenly, you began to understand... you had just been saved. From an enemy that fought with more than just physical weaponry; they invaded your mind instead, using your body as a soulless shell to accomplish their will. But now you had all killed the last one, and one of the stronger among you had incapacitated its hive mind's most-used husk, saving you from its influence even from beyond the threshold of life and death.

Finally, those vile, deceitful, double-dealing miscreants had been put out of their misery, and everyone could go about the business of their daily lives without the worry of being stabbed in the back all the time.

Finally... you could have some semblance of tranquility in your heart, and would now not worry about not waking up the next morning, every time you tried your best, and usually failed, to drift off to sleep.


Finally... you could feel some measure of peace, and claim it as your own... or so you thought.
