No real choice, DK. Cop claims, you follow the cop's lead until there's a solid reason to do otherwise.

Mastin, can you explain why you investigated someone who was, at the time, a strong scumread for you? How is that in line with your discussion article on cop methodology?

@Toon: That thought has crossed my mind but I'm not willing to risk it right now.

Silver gained respect from me in TWBBS after becoming a Neighbor as being a competent player. My scumread was also weakened by certain posts. More than that, Silver's opinions this game looked like--while not necessarily correct--they were on to something. And Silver isn't likely going to be NK'd, not even after this claim. Silver's only risk was lynching. That's why I debated the target (Silver) before I got a result, as well as whether to claim after. Inevitably, I decided the smartest play was to claim, because I felt that if I didn't, I'd regret it more than if I did.

More or less.

Well Mastin's revelation comes as a bit of a surprise. I'm still not voting subzero because I still don't see anything in the case against him.

@Mod: can we get an updated vote count?

Wait wut.

No idea what to think about mastin's claim. It seems pretty farfetched, but I also don't see a reason why he would fakeclaim it, even if he was scum with his buddy on the chopping block. At this point my mind is stuck in WIFOM City.

I still think a Toon or Deity lynch are our best bets today, and we still have time for either. Remember that we can get a plurality lynch at deadline, so we don't need the full 9 votes to avoid a no lynch.

My thoughts exectly. Whoops should of read the rules >_>

Ehh back on Toon fighter then
unvote

VOTE: Toon Fighter

The reason why I switched is because I figured I would'nt get the 9 votes on Toon.
However if we only need a
majority
then that is more possible.

Anybody wanna explain why they think he is town?

Nah, he's on my scumlist too. Second behind the Silver/SubzeroSith pairing, in fact.

However, with Silver being tentatively cleared by Mastin, my earlier strong read that one or both of {Silver, SubzeroSith} being scum takes precedence. Depending on flip, NK, and new developments, I'll be up for a Toon lynch on D2.

Please no Toon lynch. Toon's one of my few town-reads which have remained strong town-reads.

It should be Amor or SubzeroSith today, in my opinion.

I still stand by my call that SZ/Silver is town/town and find it amazing that so many of you are just sort of drooling and nodding that "it *has* to be one scum there"

Okay, here's a shocking question that I want answered;

WHY does there have to be one scum between Silver/SZ? Let's even go now with our absolute evidence that Silver is town - why does that have to make SZ scum?

Yeah...

More Amor votes, please. Toon Fighter is an acceptable alternate.

Just to make it clear I will support an Amor lynch over a Subzero lynch, if there is not enough interest in lynching in lynching Toon.

I apologise for being all over the place with the last couple of posts but I was really caught on the hop by this last minute cop claim.

While I'm definitely not sold on mastin's claim, I'm not willing to doubt it this late in the day, especially since I don't want to lynch silver anyways.

I don't buy the theory of "if mastin survives, he gets lynched" either because it's SELF-DEFEATING BECAUSE YOU ANNOUNCED YOUR INTENTIONS TO THE SCUMTEAM.

A few things...

First, Pine's vote is TERRIBLE. He has agreed with us (ICE and I) on both Toon and Silver, having been on the same wagon as us both times, but when crunch time happens and he gets scared off a wagon, what does he do? Completely forgets the scumread he has on Toon and votes for us without expressing any prior suspicion of this playslot. Seriously--check his ISO--nary a peep from him about us aside from at the very beginning when people wanted the hydra's identity verified. Pine reiterates his "suspicion" in #432, which is funny, because he said when he voted us that he didn't have time to consider it. Now, apparently, he has, and we're his #1. If Toon flips scum, I will demand a Pine lynch tomorrow.

@Surye: Why exactly are you convinced there has to be scum between us/Silver again? It seems like everyone is just saying there has to be a scum without actually, you know, saying why.

@Mastin: Why does townAmor = scumThor? Not following you there. If it is because Thor suspects Amor, you suspect Amor, too, so should we lynch you for a townAmor flip?

Mastin wrote:My scumread was also weakened by certain posts. More than that, Silver's opinions this game looked like--while not necessarily correct--they were on to something.

This is incredibly vague. Which posts? What opinions? Mastin, you just completely shook the game up, you should be giving us more information than this. (I can't believe I'm actually asking you to write more...)

Still would rather lynch Toon over Amor. So,

Unvote. Vote: Toon Fighter.

you. I voted for Silver for my own reasons, following my own logic. It's shit like this that make me certain that your argument with Silver was not Town v. Town. You both employed tactics like this, which are really just elaborate ad hominems and misrepresentation, and at first no one could tell which of you was bad scum and which of you was bad Town. I chose Silver based on his performance in a previous game, and I'm glad that Mastin has now set us back on the right track. It now occurs to me that as soon as the Silver wagon picked up speed, you mostly dropped off the radar. Now suspicion is back onto you in earnest, and you pick up your old scumtactics.

You're the lynch today, and with deadline fast approaching and plurality rules in effect, I'd like to hear a claim out of you.

Actually, I'd have to agree with Sith on your potential scuminess here.

You were one of the big "ring leaders" driving Silver's case.

- A post by you during Silver's case.
More votes on Silver please. It's time. We're getting into that phase where productivity drops and we just start tearing at each other and messing with non-tells while scum sit back in either resignation or satisfaction.

I am not certain of your scuminess, but I am pretty sure there had to be some scum on that wagon.

SZS's guide to decoding Pine's scummy-ass reply:

Italics
indicates AtE.

Underlined
indicates exaggerations or misrepresentations. Pine voted with us on both Toon and Silver--we've basically been on the same bandwagons for almost all of D1. And we have not dropped off the radar--check our ISO. We have been one of the most active playslots in the game.

Bolded #1: That's not the point. You voted with us, as in, on the same person.

Bolded #2: Tactics like what? Picking apart posts? Guilty as charged.

Bolded #3: Of course scum want a claim out of us before we're at L-1.

PEdit--Mastin, since you're posting, I want answers, pronto.

Why don't you claim, then we'll start talkin'. Otherwise, we start by hangin'. You, that is, not Toon.

Toon shouldn't HAVE to claim. You SHOULD.

With less than 24 hours to deadline, with plurality lynch rules and three sizable wagons (including the votes standing on Silver) no one is likely to GET to L-1. So SZS, if you have a claim that you think will clarify your Towniness, now is the time to make it.

Players who haven't yet justified why one of silver/SZ had to be scum.

Mastin

Player who claims an either/or and won't even back me on it. What is your case for SZ, really? I bet it's gak. Let's lynch Amor.
