Seriously. We need to have a no tolerance policy for people taking duels into their own hands.

And you know what, you want to be all stupid and allow that shit? Fine. But when you get down to lylo, you are going to have to lynch those people who took dueling into their own hands. Some of those people will be scum, some will be VI's, and some will be headstrong town. So you have your work cut out for you winning this game. Based on just their posts regarding other players and their suspicions who do you think has abnormally high chances of being scum?

Well I think theory is important because 1)scum push anti-town strategy; and 2)we can't let anti-town strategy rule the game (even when coming from mistaken town).

I haven't focused on theory totally. I also think amrun is giving off a little scummy vibes (first back off somehting as a joke, then voting DK in the midst of much important discussion), I think Ludi's suspicion of RF and toasty was really ridiculous. I also am undecided about the greyice thing. He asks me why I think AGM is scum (can't he build his own case?), then when AGM calls him scum he votes AGM. I also think he had a line in there about loving death, which made me uncomfortable.

I don't know, I can try to look at things without considering mechanics at all to perhaps give myself some perspective on the larger picture -- but i really feel strongly about the mechanics. I am absolutely certain that we can find scum pushing the anti-town strategy. We need to pressure those people to find out which ones are scum.

Okay, sorry, thought it would be easier if we know who you found most scummy in that list, and if you summarized each person's level of scumminess. Is the list you provided in list from most scummy to least, then?

The list is pretty much from scummiest to least scummy. I will probably summarize as I go along, and repeat reasons, I just didn't want to clog the thread unnecessarily, or spend too much time doing something just for you (as lovely as you may be )

Don't like this vote either. That was actually a misrep. Ludi said the reason toasty might think of 2 scumteams in the first place is because his own is small and then commented on flavour speculation when it was the subject being discussed.

After questioning Ludi, Ray Frost "can't think of scum motovation for excluding it?" Then why say he 'had an issue with it?. 'The bad vibes from Ray increase.

Icerint - post 129. Huh, I actually missed that the first time he I read those posts. My first thought about hypothetical team numbers if there was two seperate mafia teams would be three members each but it does seem odd Ludi posted as if that was surely the case.

This is a fair point, but what do you say to the idea that voting "no winner" of said duel is, in effect, like voting both players? So, I mean, we're still getting information out of that.

It is true that the town will get info out of it.
Imagine this scenario however, 4 or 5 players say to you ' we think you and C-Worl are the two most suspicious people in the game. Duel each other for a double kill now or we'll lynch you(requiring the town majority). As town what would you do?

Really though I could see Magister as scum but aside from his flavor thing I don't think his posts have been more likely to come from scum than town. My read on him is basically slightly scummier than null.

Discussing the duel mechanic = helpful. Discussing who your favorite character in theme = not helpful. It might not seem like it, but I am trying to be generous and assume that some people advocating scummy strategy are just wrong.

That does not explain why Myko is consistently mis-characterizing me as "passive" and "holding back." I mean, ask yourself, do you think he could honestly think that?

Or why he is stomping on my suspicion on Ludi and Amrun without saying he thinks they're town or why he disagrees with me.

Or why he questions my treatment of Ludi (is that a slip?) while he does the same thing.

Or why he considered four votes on him a wagon. I guess technically it is, but it seems kind of like... not that huge a deal.

To be completely as devil's advocate as I can be, I would have to say Myko might be town if he was 1)wrong and reckless in his first suggestion to spring a duel; and 2)being arrogant and obnoxious in his reactions to me. I think it's more likely he's scum.

Based on his play. His first bunch of posts were setup speculation, which was at least interesting, and beats general RVS, but didn't particularly add any reads to the thread.

He added to me to the scum list pretty clearly off Vi's #150. His 'scumhunting' consists of quoting something someone said and nodding vigorously.

Plan:

Why not play this game as normal. Then, if you are town, and you are about to be mislynched and there is no way to save yourself, you should Duel the person you have the biggest town read on so that in your death, we empower a townie. If someone hammers then they are auto-scummy. If someone refuses to L-2 duel, then an elected townie can force a duel. This should help us empower town as often as possible. Anyone who hammers is scummy. Anyone who duels without being elected is scummy. Anyone who duels someone else and flips scum should be heavily considered as scummy but not guaranteed (scum could wifom it).
