And I don't really get the point of roleclaiming in a newbie game, because everyone is going to say they're Vanilla Townies, since the PRs will get killed at night by the mafia if they confess and the mafia won't roleclaim as scum for obvious reasons.

That's one reason that I didn't change my vote as soon as he started coming after me. I was trying to gather information first and solidify any case I may be able to put together. But since it appeared that I was starting to run out of time, I figured I'd get my thoughts on the record while I still could.

No. You're wrong. That was the case in the F11, because there were little (25%) to no risk (75%) of having a cop in town. And even if there were a cop, the scum did have a role-blocker. Now that the only role-blocking ability is on the town side (Jail-keeper) the situation have changed. Claiming a Town PR is dangerous for the mafia.

nah, power roles should claim PR so they don't get lynched. If they claim VT they might get lynched. There are advantages

e.g. doc protection. a jailkeeper could stop the kill. The scum could leave the PR alive to make them appear scummy

PRs should claim PRs

we need them alive ad they deserve special protection so we can't just throw them in the VT bucket.

If they really are a PR their play will (hopefully) not have been scummy enough to merit a lynch

The boundaries of scuminess are rather unclear in newbie games.

Then instead of doing nothing but asking everyone for opinions why don't you ask for a hammer ? Now that noragar has claimed there are only two solutions (id est : the ones I have proposed) I am more inclined to lynch him because D1 lynch are mostly irrelevant.

I don't want to express any reads before noragar's case is settled. Giving infos before an hammer help the mafia to pick a target at night.
