First of all, I've always maintained that I thought Mastin more likely to be third party than main scum team.

Second, until that question was posed to me on the spot, I hadn't given any thought at all to it. I decided early in the day to block Mastin. So in the thirty seconds between reading the question and typing the reply, I was still in the "two scum and one SK left" mindset.

Now that I've had a while to think on it, I think NS is second most likely to be SK, as he's cop-cleared but unforgivably scummy, Maxous is A good choice to block, as are you and nham. Zepher's a more distant candidate.

Simply put, I haven't considered it much at all, and today's flip will be very important in the decision. I'll have all night to ponder the pros and cons of each option.

Pine - why a SK rather than a vig?

Wait that's poorly worded >_>

Why do you think there is a Serial Killer in this game rather than thinking there is a vigilante in this game?

16 players, 4 scum means 12 town
assuming no SK means 1:3 scum to town ratio.

WITH an SK that turn it into 5 scum, 11 town, and close to a 1:2 scum:town ratio
Assuming that Pine IS in fact a town RB, then an SK in the setup would make sense.
I doubt we'd need a roleblocker otherwise; it'd be a pretty anti-town role considering we had a cop, and I'm going to assume we have a doc too.

On that same foot, a vig makes sense too, but IDK.
I'm terrible at setup speculation.

I only thought Mastin was an SK because it made sense to me. I have no basis for speculation into an SK otherwise I don't think.
I personally think that should we lynch scum today, the vig should claim tomorrow.
(Also, I realize the question was directed at Pine. I just wanted to put in my 2 cents...)

I feel like there's more I want to say but I'll leave it at that...
hmmmm..
or something like that....

Oh no worries. It's just that Pine seems assuming here - with what Toon mentioned and all. - I think that may of been the first point I agree with that Toon has made in this game :). I saw what he saw, the first time.
Well if there is a SK remember that he likely killed Wraith on N1...of all people. There would be an
obvious
suspect for a SK based on that kill. Maybe too obvious though.
Then again that kill seemed a bit of an odd choice for a vig as well.
I look forward to asking why the killer chose Wraith (well if I'm around - but I hope somebody asks). Surye had an obvious reason for being killed (Mastin telling him to)

Could be a vig. But better to assume the worst, then your surprises are pleasant ones.

Besides, if it's an SK instead of a vig, we can no longer afford to not search for them. SKs are often bulletproof, so hoping for a crosskill isn't likely. Gotta lynch an SK.

Mastin and NS are the most likely suspects.

Toon Fighter wrote:I do, and did find Maxous suspicious, I just had better places to put my vote on before the last few days. I was off during D1, and D2 was DK time. silver seemed better for the first time of D3, but now it's time to go on Maxous. And I'm liking this wagon very much so far.

You do realize that before your vote on Maxous, the only time you ever mentioned any suspicion of hi was post #735? And in this post, you never gave a single reason? So... yeah. It really looks like you were just sheeping your way onto the wagon. Same as you said you would with Pine in #754. (Yes, I isoed you after this comment of yours, because I never remembered you mentioning Maxous before your vote.)

silverbullet999 wrote:VOTE: mastin

I don't see the maxous case, also it sort of occured to me that mastin came in today saying we must lynch either me or pine and we'll win... now that's changed in the same day.... disturbs me.

This is goodposting. I can see what the Maxous case is, but it isnt good enough for me to vote for him. However, Zepher, Pine, Uite, and you are above mastin in terms of my suspects. Although, I am finding it hard to determine who your partner would be, and I seem to have dropped you down the list of scum suspects, so...
UNVOTE:

In fact, upon this SK logic being repeatedly presented, I am finding Zepher and Pine to both be seriously scummy. On the other hand, jmurph, a confirmed townie, has also joined in the SK fun, so maybe this isn't what I think it is.

mastin2 wrote:mastin2 (3.5) – Maxous, Silver, NS, Pine (honorary member)
L-1 --> Maxous (4.5)– Toon Fighter, jmurph3, mastin2, Pine (about to jump off), MrZepher

Our lead two wagons.

And know what?

I'm fine with that. Since when I flip town, Maxous gets vigged. And if we SOMEHOW were both town, Zepher gets lynched.

Scum death, guaranteed.

This plan involves up to 6 deaths (including scum and vig/SK kills), of which at least one is likely to be scum. With 10 remaining players, that leaves 4 alive, possibly including 1 scum. I would prefer a plan that removes the scum before we get to lylo, so how can we best optimise this? Consider, if Mastin is scum, his most likely partner is Zepher (at least I think so). But Zepher could be scum with other people, and is legitimately more scummy than mastin. Thus, I believe we should lynch Zepher rather than mastin. Who agrees?
VOTE: Zepher

You mind pointing out a case there Nham?
You can skip over the Day1 stuff, it's not exactly difficult for me to go back and see what was scummy about my play.

I TOLD YOU. VIG ME. FUCK.
It's a waste of a lynch to lynch town.
At least with a vig it's expected for town to die. We can't afford to myslynch during the day.

L-1 --> mastin2 (5.5) – Maxous, silverbullet999,
Nobody Special
, Pine,
jmurph3
, MrZepher (waiting for claim)

If they think I'm the SK, it's VERY possible both scum are on me, lynching me for what they THINK will be free town-cred.
Since I'm NOT an SK, of course, that means that you definitely can see 1-2 scum in this wagon, no?

(And see below for why--even IF I were the SK--I wouldn't be the ideal lynch today.)

If it's not two, then I'd think Nhammen would be the second.

Toon continues to bleed town-tells with every post. In particular, his viewpoint of me, as well as pointing out what he sees in Pine.

On that same foot, a vig makes sense too, but IDK.
We don't have an SK. Look at the blasted freakin' kills. Wraith was my choice for being lynched Day 2; taken out Night One. Surye was also my choice for Day 3; taken out Night Two.

That's not an SK. Or even if it was, that's a SK who's actively hunting scum with their kills.

AKA,
-If they're a SK, they're aiming no differently than if they were a vig, and we shouldn't SK hunt until we're down to a single mafia member. (Come on, really, this is common sense; let the SK shoot scum suspects for us like they have been!)

-If they're a vig, they're aiming for scum. In particular, they hit people who were highly-probable mislynches both nights.

Fun stuff. Actually, should be quite obvious when looking at the above. Killer, of course, but not scum or serial. Eh, might as well say
vig

(should be quite obvious who should not be the lynch today [myself!]--
if

Essentially. Plan was, lynch Zepher/Maxous.
Regrettably get vigged; unavoidable consequence of the gambit, but a necessary one. Which might've doubly been effective, considering I stood a chance of drawing the scum kill as well due to all the people thinking I was the SK. With a claim of Vig, I obviously would get the real vig's, well, vig, but might attract the scum NK along with it, since they'd presumably not know me to be lying.

And with a lynch today on Maxous/Zepher (preferably with them flipping scum, but not guaranteed), and my death tomorrow, work from there.

So, yeah. Gambit ruined by not reading the claim more closely and realizing that it was yet another move to try and get the real scum dead as quickly as possible.

And, of course, I was hoping it'd be obvious it wasn't a scum gambit to get me targeted, since, well...
-Godfather dead. What other scum role would be kill-immune? (Answer: None.)
-Roleblocker, Pine--allegedly town. More than that, no way of knowing who the real vig would be. Hence, real vig's shot on me couldn't be stopped.

In other words, I was hoping that it'd be blatantly obvious I was town trying to get vigged, rather than scum trying to make the vig waste a shot on me.
