dueling rayfrost would have also lost us the game because he was telling the truth about redirecting duels in his claim.

So, some thoughts on this game:

Town came out of the gates with about the worst start they could. Miller dead before claiming and causing that whole ruckus would have been bad enough but then topping that up with the universal backup taking, literally, one of the two bad results out of the gate? Additionally, Toasty powered up was one of the easiest ways to deal with Zhuge Liang (he would have been redirected BUT he would have seen Rayfrost see who he got redirected to).

From there it just kept going downhill townside. Juls got killed for being right on spot. Bodyguard gets lit up...and then the SK (who seriously is the reminder about vetting because Lu Bu starting a duel was NOT something I expected ever) wastes an additional lynch for the day.

And then it never re-stabilized.

C-Worl managed to squeek out doing nothing forever which, with this set, was really surprising.

What went like I expected:

From start town had two major powerroles that scum were going to have to deal with because they'd be apparent early - Gamma and Vi. I fully expected gamma to claim out of the gate and use that double lynch - which gave multiple ways for scum to have to dodge.

Annnddd thats about it. This one went off the rails as fast as possible. The only scum dead was in a duel to power up scum - a huge gamble at that point that could have backfired something fierce.

As for balance:

I knew it'd be swingy (and I hesitated about Zhuge Liang from the instant the game started) - however, the town had a lot of juice and a lot of potential if it could get on the right track; a dayvig and double lynch that powers up the winner is a pretty powerful set of tools. Myko had the right idea with getting powered up early (he COULD have copied Vi's dayvig) but the results were less than stellar.

I still think it was balanced decently. 4:1:1:14 with multiple clearing methods for town.

And, yes, Maxous Daylight would have stopped EVERYTHING - it, in essence, makes no night phase.

P-edit: It's mostly me talking to myself about /outguess. Not much different from the thread itself. I was sure there were more scum what with town basically having 3 kills each day.

Someone else can share it if they want, I guess, but I'd just as soon it weren't.

In my defense my role easily sucked balls. I had no real incentive to do anything so I didn't. Somehow that got a strong Town read from Vi. She protected me for at least a whole day or two. By the time she started pointing out my inactivity no one really cared about me anymore. I could literally post whatever whenever and people would talk about me but nothing would happen. Add to that the town kept swinging their dicks into duels before anyone had time to think. Too bad no one used that dueling plan you had made at the beginning of the game.

QFT. I think T-Bone's demonstration that scum could swing their dicks, too, was a good decision.

I wish the dead thread people hadn't known the outcome so soon. Might've been fun to see them participate in the set-up speculation and so on.

....No, Red was town. A miller that, due to me not forseeing him NOT claiming that, ended up being a true death miller.

The three factions that did not have the town win condition were Lu Bu, you, and the scum.

1. Duel mechanic: Fun!

2. Setup: I had a good time /outguessing it, but I was disappointed that it ended up being so simple. I like my imaginary set-up where Vi is a sneaky scumqueen better. :P

3. Meh, I think there were few enough scum-scum that it'd be silly to claim it was unbalanced. I feel for Gamma, though.

P-edit: The events that take place in the Jin storyline in DW7 are just late Wei...Jin didn't exist until after the conclusion of all of it....

P-edit 2: We just didn't want to WIFOM with the doctor.

Well, yeah. I just phrased it that way because Katsuki was being a jerk about it in thread. It was pretty clear from the write up that RedCoyote was NOT SCUM in some sort of fashion. Didn't realize it was a miller until post-game.

It was a neat set-up, SpyreX. Thanks for letting me play even though my survivor experimentation did not go as well as I'd hoped.

if I didn't <3 you so much I would seriously call in the lynchmob for you allowing redirecting from a scum player and doing the kill in the same night.

Dueling was very largely anti-town as expected.
Setup was...interesting but I don't really have any problems with it aside from the above stuff.
