Town has no reason to soft claim like you did. They would, instead, I don't know, maybe scum hunt and get a more attractive wagon going. Try to get out of it without making themselves a NK target. Scum motivation is obv - makes your fake claim more believable later on. Scum is also not concerned about being a NK target, so.
