[Day 5, DEFCON 1 - Endgame]

PookyTheMagicalBear cackled like a manic as he downed his eleventh shot of vodka.
"Now's the time," he said aloud to the empty room. He had long since sealed himself off from the rest of the EURFOR command team, who had been able to complete the exceptional task of getting themselves all killed immediately after the war started. After that disaster, Pooky trusted himself and only himself to make all the calls. And if talking to yourself made it easier, why the hell not?
"The Americans think they've got all their bases covered. They think they can hide like cowards in their underground bunker. Little do they know I've got a little surprise for them…"
Pooky unlocked a glass container holding an oversized red button and placed his hand over it. It was a cluster nuke, a highly specialized and deadly weapon that the EU had developed just months prior. Launching at a target would detonate a crater large enough to cause an earthquake.
None of Washington, D.C. would survive. Not even the White House bunker.
But Pooky wasn't just going to destroy the Americans. He was going to do it with style.
He then picked up the phone and dialed a number.
"Operator," a voice answered.
"This is PookyTheMagicalBear with the EURFOR," Pooky said. "I would like to speak to the President of the United States."
"…one moment please," the operator responded with a pause.

"This is the President of the United States."
"Hello, Mr President."
"You have blown our capital to shreds and we are about to retaliate and destroy you. What is you want?"
"I'm aware, I just wanted to tell you something first."
"What?"
"…LOL."
With a nonchalant slap, PookyTheMagicalBear hung up the phone and pressed the red button, signing the death warrant for Washington.
"Novices," he commented.

Suddenly, a booming sound echoed from the sky. With a ray of brilliant light, the heavens opened up and unleashed a fury greater than any nuclear weapon - a fury of not just a thousand suns, but a billion. For God believed in honor above all other things, and the Europeans had fought with none. With blazing speed, the light scoured through Europe, destroying every last remnant of the EURFOR and leaving only American forces soaring overhead.

A single beam of sunlight shot through the mushroom clouds onto the White House lawn.

America - ripped, torn, and obliterated - would live to fight another day.

PookyTheMagicalBear was modkilled on Day 5 for a violation of Rule #14.

As I indicated in the dead thread, I was extremely annoyed the game had to come down to this. I loved this game otherwise and thought it was going super well, so having the endgame resolved this way was disappointing (especially since the town didn't even NEED to quicklynch Hez and could have gone to legit 3-player lylo). That said, thanks to everyone for playing - I had a great time modding. As always, constructive criticism is welcome. There will probably not be another DEFCON for a while (my next game will be Portal 2 Mafia), but I always take comments into account for future design.
