Something IS up with Reck, but apparently it's not due to his alignment. The Careful Reader will be able to find many non-Mafia things that it could be.

Now, to qualify: I've interacted with Reck far more OUTSIDE of Mafia than in actual games. I think I've played with him twice. I should go back and re-read some of this games, but he's Innocent here so it hardly matters in this game.

I don't trust your claim, but Reckoner's reaction (being avidly willing to lynch you despite having been cleared) struck me as very town. His scum reaction would be to jump back onto Palisade in the event anyone actually believes NS is a cop, because being cleared is fun.

More thoughts on investigation immunity in a Normal:

The wiki Normal page says that a Non-Sane Cop is explicitly Non-Normal, so I'd have to think that any player having investigation immunity would be verboten. That being said, a Godfather is Explicitly Normal, so.

Without getting into setup speculation, I'll just say that I think Reck is trolling with his bullshit claim up there. I've apparently pissed him off, which is fine, but the fact remains that I am town, I am a Cop, and if you keep me alive until LyLo, I can investigate and help. I'm quite willing to be lynched at LyLo, if you keep me alive until then.
