I was a watcher, got pretty lucky, we would not have killed celeb N2 otherwise. I liked having the neighbours in the game, but they did seem to favour scum if anything.

@cooldog imag was killed cos he seemed unlikely to be lynched (mostly parama's idea, I think i would have gone for xvart).

Definitely wouldn't have gone for xvart - like I say, I came to conclude the neighbours were town-town. Choosing between you, Parama and deselby would've been tricky - I think I'd have wanted Parama lynched first of the three of you. Either way, I would've taken longer than a few hours over it though... ;)

As we approach the end of resistance, it's sad to think that we placed our hope

The scumteam here might not be obvious due to an excessive level of scummyness from town players but there has been one obvious scum since day 1 and people need only calm down to realize contradictions of the zodiark13 kind.

Forgot to say above, but nice flavour, Humble Poirot. Concise but well-written, and the scenario makes an excellent basis for a mafia game.

I now have a CoolDog policy lynch policy. I don't care if it gets me voted out D1 in games. If he's alive in a game my vote is on him.

I f$%#ing hate games with neighbors in them. Most worthless roles there are.

For what's worth, CooLDoG, you were driving that train so maybe you shouldn't laugh that much. :neutral:

I'm mildly dissapointed by the lack of comments but I can understand people trying to get away from this game as fast as possible.

Though I was happy to have the neighbours in the game, they do seem "worthless" as far as aiding any faction.

@HP - what was the thinking behind including neighbours? Was it just to add intrigue, or to affect balance in some way?

Good neighbors can be an asset to town. I know because I've been there. In a town neighborhood. It's safe to assume from the start that the other one is scum just to prevent foul play but, as you go, you can manage to build trust and use it to your advantage.

It puts town and scum in interesting situations. There's a bit more outguessing the mod, there's 2 less VTs but no addition of game-breaking power roles.

I think these neighbors worked quite well for a while, with don being sometimes scummy and xvart being pro-town. The fact that don claimed first made him less likely to be scum, as scum would prefer killing the neighbor before anyone could make the connection. I do not think the problem here relied on neighbors. Scum's actions were mainly decided by the PR info they got n1 so they pretty much had an optimal night strategy which they followed. Town's problem ran along the lines of most town players being scummy, impatient and those who were pro-town enough and stopped to think before acting didn't take an active role in stopping all the madness that ensued.

Sorry for my delay in responding; been a busy week. Good game, everyone. My sincerest apologies to don for doubting him in the final hour. Sorry for my play early game. I wish I would have pushed on Parama harder; I always felt an itch that Parama was scum but it was all so roundabout and circumstantial that I never could have pushed it without looking scummy myself. This game is further proof for me that I need to focus on not tunneling so hard and step back and look at the bigger picture once in a while. I was having serious deja vu with this game and the early D1 one shot vig claim since that exact thing was claimed in another game I was playing at the time.

Did the scum QT get released?

Thanks Humble for modding and inviting me to play. I liked the setup, although I now can say I hate being a neighbor due to the constant doubt. Looking back, I now realize that what I did in the final night of the QT with don I was basically setting him up to be scum no matter what, which I shouldn't have done.

I don't remember who it was, maybe havingfitz that made a very valid point about Beck refusing to follow the town's direction and the comparison to the people that strung him up were wrong so why should he trust their judgement. That was an astute observation and should be said more often in similar situations.

dead qt is the most active i've seen. i enjoyed the challenge of being neighbors and i am satisfied to have read my neighbor correctly. you can't win 'em all, but players in this game should learn from it. day 1 pr lynches are always bad. only other thing beck could have been was sk. scum rarely, if ever, claim vig(let alone one-shot). sorry beck, had i been able to be more active i would have done everything i could have to stop that lynch.
