Nope. I need to do a LOT of re-reading, I avoided this game during the night phase out of shame but gut instinct is that it's not Newman and I don't agree with Slaxxs read either thus why I want to talk with him.

Y'all can thank me in the postgame, by the way, by nominating for the Best Replacement scummy.

Ghostlin? Called it. Got him lynched.
LLD? Called it. If I didn't get her lynched, me tossing bricks at her sure as hell don't help her.
Hiphop? Town? Called it. Y'all had listened to me and we'd be sipping Margaritas right now.
Ethos? Called it.

Right here. Right goddamn here. Better than half the scum in the game, and I replaced in at L-1.

That's what's cooking today, folks. Cooking with gas. No townies harmed in the making of this production, just nudge that ChaosOmega under the table there, that's it, slide the tablecloth down a bit and... we're good!

And, in case you're wrong and Ethos is actually town, what then? NK you for trying a last-minute leadaway? NK Newman?

I mean it, Grey. Put some thought into after this as well as right now.

After this? Fuck, you're confirmed town with a hitman. You were overbid yesterday, that makes you even MORE confirmed town, 'cause you weren't overbid by flying monkies.

If Ethos is by some fucking miracle town, then I guess it is Newman. You really think that?

Unless I'm Properly Paranoid and I'm right in offhandedly thinking you're the SK, then yes, I think Newman is it.

You know what?

I'm actually peeved.

I know you're town, so this has to be honestly your suspicion. You're telling me that you think there's a chance that the Hiphop wagon went through, 4 players in 6 voting for it, no self voting, and scum is the one sole player OFF the wagon?

WUUUUTTTTTTT

Magua: Can you choose to pay more to raise the bid on an auction than $1 more than the lower bid?

For instance, say I bid $200 on an auction with a minimum bid of $40 and no one else is bidding. Can I choose for the winning bid to be $101 rather than $40?

While I see the implications of this, I assure you I had bid $100 beforehand and didn't get to snipe it myself.

Well fuck, there goes all my money. Hope they buried it with Seacore.

Based on who is left, it has to be Ethos. I'm down for his lynch and our win.

It wasn't quite so dramatic to point fingers at eachother when everyone was sitting at their own quarter of the table, but that's what was going on.

At least, until the phone rang. Again. There was only one person who could be on the other end of the line. Mr. Moneybags.

"Yes, sir?" I stuttered.

We all waited to hear what he would say.

Mr. Moneybags got right to the point. "You got this Ethos guy there?"

"Yes," I said, looking up to meet Ethos' stare.

"Guy looks like an angel?"

"Yes," I said again.

"Get rid of him."

"What?" I couldn't help but exclaim.

"Highly religious themes are testing poorly in the technology sector," Mr. Moneybags explained to me as if I was a dolt. "His funding's cut. Toss him." The line went dead.

HellloooNewman and GreyICE were already stringing Ethos up; I merely helped complete the deed.

Ethos,
Entrepreneur
, was lynched Day 7.
It is now
Night 7.

For the last time, I woke up. Eyes glazed, I took survey of the ruins of the offices. On my survey of the cubicles, I stumbled across HellloooNewman's dead body. Dejectedly, I scarcely even paid it any attention.

There weren't many to gather. GreyICE and Voidedmafia. They stood, glaring at eachother over the conference room table that stood between them. Each one yelling that the other was the culprit, each one telling me to help one string up the other...

HellloooNewman,
Entrepreneur
, was killed Night 7.
It is now
Day 8.

I held my head in my hands. This decision would be hard; both of them presented good cases on the other, but neither could lynch the other without my help. I stared back and forth between the two, unable to make up my mind.

Exasperated, GreyICE took his cellphone out of his pocket, and sent a quick text message. Before I could even ask him why, the conference room phone rang again.

I put it on speaker.

It was Mr. Moneybags.

"Yes, sir?" I asked, but I already knew. I already knew what was coming.

"Voidedmafia. Kill him," Mr. Moneybags said.

GreyICE handed me the extension cord as we strung him up, my arms following the rote motions.

The man surveyed the results of the day as he fired the encrypted message into the aether, a last eulogy to those he felt a true kinship with here. Organized criminals? They were called criminals because they had standards. They knew the importance of family, they knew actions had to have consequences even if the laws that the Capitalists bough with their money would never convict them.

Break into a man's home and steal his TV, but find he's in and kill him in a fight? Twenty to life. Twenty to life.

Set safety standards that are ludicrously low, and unleash a horror on Bhopal that would have shocked the Schutzstaffel with their scope and audacity? Bad executives! No bonuses for you this year! Have some fines that you'll never even pay.

The mafia, these 'criminals' wouldn't have accepted that. Their families died in that? Their friends were killed? Their sister's babies born with deformities that have them living the few minutes of their tortured lives outside the womb in screaming agony. They would have enacted the death penalty on each and every one of those criminals. It's what they deserved. It's what justice required.

They were too short-sighted, of course. They'd do anything for their own personal family, but they couldn't see that every man trapped in this was a brother to another, every woman who suffered in this system a sister. In that respect, they were as dangerous as the Capitalists, for it was okay if atrocities happened as long as the atrocity didn't happen to them. They would even inflict them happily, in the name of their family, on Comrades and Capitalists alike.

But still, the man had felt a deep kinship with this lone woman, fighting for her Cartel, fighting for her right to break the system as it broke so many others. He wondered if he could have aimed a gun at her, tightened his finger on the trigger. Could he have voted in these sham trials to hang her, watched her body twitch and die and know that he had contributed?

The man would never know, and in his way, he was grateful.

These Capitalists that would hurt this woman's family? They would all die. Her family wouldn't control this market, but nor would anyone else.

He surveyed the other results of his sabotage. Some directed at the Capitalists, some directed at their systems. Any one of them still alive could save the systems with a simple touch of a button, a code phrase entered into the system, but if everyone was dead, then that code would never be entered, the system never receive it. And if that happened...

The man smiled. A death, but not in vain. The market they coveted would no longer exist, but her family would be safe. Everyone's family would be safe when he was done.

And if a few atrocities were committed along the way? No more than they'd done in kind, no more than were being committed every day. The man knew his heart would be cut by every one of them, and he welcomed the pain. His brave new world might be built on a mountain of corpses, but his could top the stack, and the world would be free, free to move forward without ever knowing what he'd done, free of the shackles that bound them all.

But first, there was work to do, places to go, people to kill.

Though, I don't see why we couldn't have had a night phase, since there was still a chance to kill the last guy.

Also, I was seriously contemplating NKing you tonight, Grey. And TOO BAD, I WAS ANYWAYS!

In case you were wondering, there was a love potion that prevented Voidedmafia for voting for me on the last day, so I was actually entirely unlynchable.

Also you couldn't have killed me, even with hitman :P
