Actually I do believe it's from the perspective of a player who wants to put suspicion on town when his buddy flips.

Actually that analysis is driven by the perspective that Meran is scum (much like my reaction was based on Meran-Town) but I agree that it is a possibility.

The fatal flaw to this is the part where Maru later says he didn’t really suspect them, thus allowing you to say “Aha, lie”.

No reason for scum to do that as opposed to just going with the previous scum-call.

Meanwhile OMGUS (which is basically in a nutshell what you are slapping on him) isn’t a scum-tell … Town do it all the time. LLD has a little phrase about that, BTW.

I have a pretty strong stance of not of not claiming until at L-1 myself with a proffered hammer when I am Town. Go see Seinfeld Mafia as an example - as a Town Tracker I refused to claim at L-1 because no-one offered to hammer. Also go see ooba's Song of Fire and Ice Mafia where I refused to claim at L-1 as VT. I've only deviated once and that was a special circumstance.

This "Paraphrasing takes seconds" crap that DGB popularized is bullshit and I totally want to strangle everyone who clings to it like it is good Mafia Townplay.

Now I can totally understand scum who want to use that crap to quicklynch ... but not Town.

The difference between your example and the example of Meran is that Meran isn't actively trying to prevent his lynch. I'm sure that if we read your examples, we'd see town-MoI putting up a courageous fight against the forces oppressing him.

Meran is doing no such thing and is merely professing weak promises of "I'm going to tell you so" and variations of the same.

Also, saying that I'm calling for a quicklynch is a little insincere...I want him to claim. Plain and simple. His refusal to claim is stalling up the game. Whether or not he's preparing a fakeclaim is irrelevant. There are no other options at the moment and Meran is certainly not professing them. If we're going to lynch someone else, it won't be because of Meran's play, but his claim.

LMP's KGB Mafia - Derp-Town Sensfan hammered an unclaimed Bulletproof Townie without asking for a claim under that banner. Scum went on to perfect victory.

Ooba's Song of Fire and Ice Mafia - DGB pushed me as scum because I didn't claim at L-1 before anyone offered under that banner WHILE I WAS ON FUCKING V/LA FOR A FAMILY VACATION. I was VT and flipped that way because too many stupid Town believe that crap.
