Congrats town. I had a lot of fun this game even though we lost. The only intentionally non-townie thing we did all game was kill Vi so it was almost like you had an extra player. :)

I have a question: If Snake and I had won the game the night before day 5, would you have considered it a fair, or earned victory? Would you say that we deserved it?

Well it was more of an open question for anyone to answer, so by extension, yes you.

You didn't get lynched and there wasn't any role technicalities to stop your lynch so sure, if you had won it would have been fair and earned. Locke/Snake lurked a lot but people know that scum lurk so ignoring it was not ideal for town. Town also made some bad choices. The Anxiety and springlullaby lynches were particularly bad. I don't complain too much if scum or town win unless they back into it (like if the town just played really dumb and you benefited from it). That wasn't the case here.

Now, I want to know why we were targetted the first time (and was it N1 or N2?).

Here's the mafia QT.

I can't remember why I shot you night 2, I'll look it up in my notes though, I think that I thought you were a PR. Gonna check right now.

Oh, I remember now. I used PoE, and tried to keep players who were not too variable in the game and didn't seem as dangerous. Your hydra was a fine candidate.

Vigged you later to push the kill through, but the vig didn't work out.

Yay go saulres!

I was feeling pretty crappy about our play after we were killed but it actually turned out we had pretty good reads. No worse than normal at least. I do feel there was a real clash between the newer players and older players in this game as well. Each group finds different things scummy and I got frustrated when no one seemed willing to at least discuss the differences without deciding we were scummy for it.

We have a QT that's pretty short and just ends up being a place where we word out our posts. If Zach wants to post it, I'll let him.

I just wish I'd shot Saulres now. Ah well. Oh any of you looking for another game my Ghostbusters game is in signups.

I actually find it hard when replacing in as scum, to figure out the predecessors motivations, so it's quite hard to formulate opinions either way.

I think Saulres grew a lot during this game. As I said in the QT, I think he should just learn to filter out some of the theories. It's going to be hard if he gets a scum draw to fake the same activity too. I definitely think he should keep playing too. Anxiety, is another story. I don't want to come off mean or rude because that is not my intention here but some real words of advise to you is to don't have a pity party if someone suspects you. Don't shut down and not answer questions. Don't threaten to lose the game for your team. If you aren't willing to play the game WITH others then you don't need to play. Just an observation. Again, I don't want it to seem rude. I was legitimately irritated during the game about these things.

I'm going to also say that Saulres should consider staying to play here, as he is someone that I would much enjoy playing with in the future. Perhaps too much setup speculation (it was the speculation that allowed scum to almost win day 4), but he is definitely a good player and shouldn't quit because he lost his motivation in this game. I would be sad, anyway, if he did.

Saulres for this games' Town MVP, easily.

@juls

you are not being rude or mean, your perspective is definitely legitimate and understandable. i have a tendency to play anti-town and i did get carried away at times. my joke about self-hammering was in response to you saying i would fuck up lylo; i realize now it was an overreaction. as i am still learning what is acceptable play in mafia thank you for taking the time to bring this to my attention. i am sorry if this detracted from the game.

As long as you learn from this game and use it to play better when you play again, it's all good.

I'll join the campaign calling for saulres to keep playing. His improvement in this game alone was a good thing to witness.

Already said it once, but thanks again for modding, DDD. I'm glad I delayed my mafia break (again) for this game. The setup was really well put together and everything seemed to operate just as you had planned. That's the sign of great moderation, imo.

Thanks to everyone on the player list too. I enjoyed playing with everyone in this game, though I probably would have been a little more frustrated at times if I was actually town. Congrats on the victory town.
YOUR AD HERE

Too busy with work to play mafia right now but I shall return some day!

Our quicktopic is pretty boring. I don't really see any sense in posting it.

Oh and Vi, I absolutely loved your post restriction. I know it was annoying and you couldn't communicate for shit but it was so fun to read.

Thanks for the compliments, folks. I was aiming for a potentially swingy but balanced and fun game and I think this mostly delivered.

I'm just glad the cadre of minor flaws and the one larger flaw didn't come into play at all. As you can tell I didn't include the names of partners in the neighbors or scum PMs or the mafia kill flavor in their PMs which I was quick to rectify once I realized both facts. I also implied that the SK would receive notification when their BP ability went off which I didn't intend to do and had to tell them that much. More importantly Junpei wasn't allowed to make the scum kill which wasn't intentional and was more a legacy of an earlier design and it could've had serious issues if he had been the one in LYLO because in a 1 v 1 he can't NK and there's no possible lynch there which means scum can't get a majority but town couldn't eliminate all the threats to the town. I probably would've called the game in favor of scum at that point but I'm glad it didn't come down to it.

I enjoyed watching the game progress and I think it was a decent blend of older and newer players and luckily the older players aren't the arrogant sort that I detest so that while their were clashes about play style it never got out of hand or obnoxious. I'm not sure why saulres is considering retiring from the game (which is a funny concept anyways) because he certainly has a fair amount of potential. The town was on the right track on D1 in that they lynched a lurker in SL, the only problem is that they lynched the town lurker and not either of the scum ones in LL or GNR. I'm also still not sure why N2 went the way it did with scum shooting into the player they knew was BP and the SK deciding not to kill that night, it became even more odd when scum didn't follow up shooting into the then no longer BP player they'd just shot the next night. To answer Junpei's question; I wouldn't have objected if the mafia had won N4 not because the mafia had played well to that point but that the town hadn't really done anything to deserve the win; they'd lynched the one lurker but never really threatened the other and no one other than Amrun was really that interested in lynching you and the town had mislynched three times already.

Man, it was satisfying to see that Junpei flip.

What did the Amazing passive do? I must know!!!!

I totally agree with Juls about both Anxiety and Saulres. I'd be happy to play with both again.

Anxiety, you really frustrated me a couple of times during the game, but as long as you laern from that, it's fine. Everyone has those compulsions occasionally.

Saulres, why are you quitting?! I've played with you both times and enjoyed it both times! You are improving at a very rapid pace and I'd love to see how good you can get. You did a really good job this game!
