Abarat Mafia is a Mini Theme based on the first book of the Abarat series by Clive Barker. Flavor knowledge is not required but will significantly increase your enjoyment of the game. (Read it while you play!) This game

will have spoilers

for the first book, but it's okay, because the first book mostly sets the stage and there isn't much to be spoiled.

It is a two-faction game between the Forces of

Day

and the Forces of

Night

. As a consequence of this, there are no jesters, cultists, lynchers, or survivors.

Abarat Mafia was reviewed by Empking, Spyrex, and Zoraster. Spyrex will be the backup moderator in the unfortunate event of my absence.

This is a hydra friendly game. Do not join if you hate hydras. However, there can be no more than

heads per hydra;

no exceptions

. Also, no more than

players can be in hydras (eg if there are 2 3-headed hydras and 1 2-headed, that's it), simply because with too many people the thread has the potential to explode.

When you do, pick up Absolute Midnight. (I assume you haven't read it because it's only been out two months and you'd probably still have Abarat fresh in your head if you had.)

Abarat is a light-hearted fantasy romp without too much substance but lots of heart, Days of Magic: Nights of War is a solid read with a strong ending, and Absolute Midnight is absolutely AMAZING.
