Ah, I misread chamber's earlier comment; he was in fact ambiguous about getting aguilty rather than merely holding back a guilty.

If nobody wants to try and analyze various people's play in order to hunt for the other recruiter, I'm willing to
unvote Y, vote Shamrock
. At least it will give us some insight into the Red Guard structure.

Ugh. I am in the same position as shamrock, and I have been since day 2. I recieved a recruitment letter like this on N1. I said I did not want to join them, but I was forced anyway. Besides the fact that I now have to submit the name of someone everynight, my role and alignment has remained the exact same. Its an interesting twist of fate.

I've only been hinting the entire game about this, should I have died before I revealed this info. Obviously that won't happen now though.

Shamrock wrote:By the way, there's a special mechanic for how the Red Guards work. Every night, I submit someone I want to see die (and I assume all the other Red Guards do this as well). The leader of the Red Guard gets to choose between these submissions for a kill. I was asked for a submission by the mod on night 3, but I didn't send one. I was not, however, asked for a submission on night 4, which would seem to conform with our theory on Yunans recruiting on evens/killing on odds.
FoS: Tamuz

I am NOT going to out myself for someone based almost entirely on gut to have nonlisteners and scum and skimmers to fuck it up. If you would have read, all of Shamrock's posts where he says 'every other' are speculation.

I beleive Shamrock, because also something else happened to me.

I figure I might as well say that the Elite Red guards tried to recruit me on N2, and I rejected them in a similar fashion. The Elites work in a different way in that I wasn't forced to join them or submit possible night kills to them. The PM telling me I was invited to the Elites told me specifically that the Elites were inviting me.

I beleive Shamrock, because my first invitation did not specify what type of Red Guards I was joining, while my second specifically said Elites.

Wow... we caught 2 scum in one day... easily. At least, that's how it looks to me. I don't like this whole "but my alignment didn't change" thing. Usually when you're recruited and you say you don't want to be recruited... you die... right? That's what i'm used to seeing.

If there are these 2 competeing scum groups like we think there are, and they're recruiting instead of killing, it would explain the lack of NKs in a game this large.

If I have a guilty I'd like to hold off, i regret how quickly I gave it on the third day, valuable information can be had through observing interactions
it's not guilty and has no relevence to the current discussion
So.... you dont have a guilty?

I consider shamrock still not clear as he could have access to that info if he is, in fact, a genuine redguard.

Should we try to direct the Red Guard choices? Perhaps have Bacde and Shamrock target each other?

Why, Thok? If Bacde is Innocent and has admitted to being in the same boat as Shamrock, I think we can trust them both. So there's no reason to put either of them in danger. (Since, now that the word is out, they would both be in danger of being nightkilled.)

I think we should use them as potential (though mostly ineffective) Vigilantes. Just have them send in whoever they think might be scum -- or whoever we think is scum. At the very least, it would limit the Red Guard Leaders' choices, and we might get ourselves a cross-kill if Elite and Yunan do not know each others' members.

Wrong. Shamrock still could have that info (including the "there is someone else out there with this")if he is evil! He is not cleared yet!

Haven't we unsuccessfully bandwagoned him every day so far?

Glork-having them target each other could theoreticaly slow down any recruiting that happens.

Also, have I missed where chamber is cleared? A mafia cop isn't that unlikely in this setup (maybe 20% right now). Yes, he did give us Fritzler, but notice that Fritz is listed in the casualties as
unnamed
Red Guard rather than either Yunan or Elite; perhaps chamber just gave us a person who declined recruitment also?

(My really paranoid theory for the day is that chamber is the second recruiter and that's where he's getting his cop info from.)

No, Chamber is not cleared for sure. Maybe we *should* lynch Bacde or Pooky as a tester. I'm somewhat inclined to believe him for now, but I haven't ruled out the possibility that Chamber is scum of some kind.

Also -- though Fritz was an unnamed Red Guard, his alignment was revealed as "Maoist," whereas all of the nightkills have been on "People." I don't know for sure, but it seems to me that Fritz accepted his recruitment. Why he wasn't given a specific alignment? I don't know, I can't answer that. But right now my gut tells me that Fritz's situation is different from that of Shamrock and Bacde.

I still think that even if they're telling the truth, they might be a minor threat to the town, at least until someone can answer this question:
Yosarian2 wrote: I also wonder what would happen if we had 3 people left; 1 scum, and 2 "pro-town" red guard. If everyone's dead or in the red guard, wouldn't the scum probably win, even if some of the red guard supposedly would still win with the town?
However, we've probably got bigger fish to fry; if we can find and kill the recruiter and the game dosn't end, we can worry about picking off the remaining red guard then. So
unvote
for now.
