the only thing that leans toward red being scum instead of lanse is red's behavior. and the fact that red would be just as likely to scumkill fate. but i think Hoppster made the choice to kill Fate. Hoppster fears Fate. Me, not so much.
I think he figured red would mis-kill town, and that he'd take out Fate so that he could continue his retarded accusation toward me about me and Sky "bussing" one another. (when really it was him, as I pointed out) Either way, Hoppster didn't expect to die, but he figured townFate had a better chance of catching him than a guy who replaced VisceraEyes.
in fact, killing Fate was a MONUMENTAL fuckup on his part. Keeping Fate alive would have enabled him to plant doubt in peoples' heads as to Fate's alignment--- especially if they had killed me last night like they should have. But, then again, Fate's just about the only person who's harder to mislynch than I am
