Hello.

The chair recognizes the motion to go to caucus Immediately, but since no amount of time was specified, the chair will impose and arbitrary length of 48 hours from the time it passes (if it passes).

Delegate from the Phillipines, this motion does not require a seconder. Instead, you should vote in favour.

Thank you delegate from the United Kingdom for speaking opposed to the motion. Voting will now open on the motion to immediately go to caucus for 48 real time hours.

Delegate from Brazil, you are out of order. The delegate from the United Kingdom is not speaking on the resolution. They are simply speaking on a proposed motion.

Delegate from the United Kingdom, you are out of order for answering.

...

Now, since it is clear that there is no interest in the motion to go to caucus, I am entertaining the motion to close debate.

And since there are 8 votes, we'll skip the part about speaking against closing debate, on I will annouce debate closed.

We now go to voting procedures on this resolution. Please vote on Resolution 002 as it stands, which is how it was originally proposed. A delegate with more time could be so kind as to find it and post it here.

PLEASE VOTE NOW ON RESOLUTION 002, as proposed by the United Kingdom. You may vote in favour, opposed, or abstain.

Finally, I'm replacing Werebear, by request. I have one in line. This should not take long.

Sorry about the pace. The holidays and this country are ruining things! I didn't think it would be this chaotic!

MUNSCM 002
: Weapons Inspectors

Acknowledging that investigations often turn up nothing;

Noting that more experienced players will be more dangerous than inexperienced players if evil;

Noting that said players are more dangerous if they have veto power

1. Requires that weapons inspectors be sent to China.

Correct?

Votes: opposed to MUNSCM 002
, thus killing it, I think?

Also, the delegate from USA wishes to request a leave of absence as there are pressing domestic matters which require my attention. I apologise for an inconvenience and will return in approximately 5 days.

In light of the USA's veto of this amendment, the delegate from the Phillipines would like to move once again for caucus, to begin after the vote for caucus and continue for 48 hours.

Obviously some non-procedural discussion would be of benefit to all parties, as well as enable all countries to revitalize their ambassadors and return their focus to the tasks at hand.

The delegate from Chile would like to clarify that he is opposed to
Munscum 002
, and would like to ask the chair if voting is currently permitted on moving to caucus.

I think Munscum 002 is totally done, with Talitha's veto.

I second the motion for Caucus.

By the USA voting opposed to the resolution, it officially fails.

We are now in "limbo" between resolutions, and the only things we can do are procedural, like ammend the Agenda. Please note the updated Agenda on Front page.

I am entertaining the motion to enter into caucus for 48 real time hours. A delegate who wishes to may speak opposed to the motion. Otherwise, please continue voting on the motion.

Also, I ask the submitter of the next resolution, United Kingdom, to PREPARE to submit their resolution, but not do so until the current motion on the floor fails, or caucus ends.

Finally, Diatoma is replacing Werebear. If there are any other people who actually wish to be replaced, please let me know.

I don't like dropping out of games unless I'm going on holiday, but the pace of this game is really too slow for my liking.
With an eager replacement available, I think it's better if I'm out.

Well, we will see if we still have 15 willing players when the next round of replacements comes through. I admit it is very different... perhaps much more suited to a real'time chat game.

Back to the motion. Votes for motions will be counted regardless of whether a speaker steps forward to speak against. Really, it is just an opportunity to actually SPEAK against the motion. Once 8 people vote in favour, caucus can begin.

Umm... we need a couple more replacements for anynone watching.

I officially announce the beginning of Caucus. All procedures have been lifted for the next 48 hours. Say productive things!

bloojay will replace Phoebus
Diotima will replace God

To those new players, you will have received an email if you are evil. Otherwise, you are innocent.

So, the current player list is...

Flying Dutchman (replacing Werebear) - China
bloojay (replacing Phoebus) - France
Fishbulb - Russian Federation
PolarBoy - United Kingdom
Talitha - United States

Leonidas - Algeria
Diotima (replacing God) - Angola
bigbenwd (replaced Quagmire) - Benin
EnPaceRequiescat - Brazil
shadyforce - Chile
mathcam - Germany
Dragon Phoenix - Pakistan << passively seeking replacement
massive - Philippines
ZONEACE - Romania
Thoth - Spain

Again, we're in Caucus. Talk talk talk!

OK, I can talk normally now :D

Good for a change.

The last 2 resolutions failed, and I think we DO need to SOMETHING.....

I think we need to send the inspectors somewhere randomly, and let another random country get the results. Tomorrow the team should be sent to the result-receiving country, and another random country should get the results, if you get what I mean. This gives us the best chance of discovering something evil.

Also I want the MABM deployed in a country randomly selected by the chair,
but not revealed to the countries untill the next day
. This will give us a chance, even though it's a small one, to survive the night with all of us.

I think wasting a country at this moment is useless, so I want to get a resolution not using our bombs today.

I will submit 1 big resolution for all these things.

I think it's imperative, still, to weed through the veto-countries first. Remember that if one of them is evil (which I think is viable), that they can affect which resolutions get passed and which don't. I liked the reasoning behind sending the Weapons Inspectors to China first, but I'd be willing to do any of the experienced players (four of the five veto countries, mind you) first.

I'm really hating the MABMs. There's no way to use them effectively and gain information. I think the right angle is to make sure you include either revealing which country was protected first thing in the morning, or sending the protection choice to a random country as well.

And I think everyone will tell you that "lynching someone" is a must. We only have the Weapons Inspectors as cops, we can't trust either (a) the results or (b) that the investigated OR receiving countries will be alive come the next morning. We can't sit around and wait for them to turn up conclusive evidence. We need to start weeding out people now. Again, I'm still thinking a veto country wouldn't hurt.

So isn't the best solution to send the investigation and the protection to the same randomly-chosen veto-power country, and then randomly send the results to another randomly chosen veto-power country. (I say veto-power for the recipient because its unlikely there's 2 evil veto powers...so collusion on this front is minimized).
