Okay, clearly I need theplague42 around so that the mod team contains at least one person with a work ethic, but...

Turn 76 Resolution

jmj3000: 2-1=1

jmj3000 takes a couple fast breaths, and dives out of cover to try to reach the shotgun. He makes it about halfway there before his injured leg gives out on him and he tumbles to the ground.

Conveniently, this unexpected change of velocity means the aliens' fire misses him. Inconveniently, the aliens' fire hits the shotgun, shattering the stock and sending the remnants skittering away down the street.

jmj3000 is lying in the middle of the street with the Beretta (containing two rounds) and a bag full of now-pretty-much-useless shotgun shells.

CSL: 3-1=2

As she tries to flee, CSL discovers her leg won't support her weight. As she scrambles down the street on her belly, she hears the mecha stomp out of the building and, a moment later, sees the green dot of the targeting laser appear in front of her and skip across the sidewalk onto her.

animorpherv1: 1-1=0

As the hum of the aliens' lasers recharging fills the silence, animorpherv1 tries to sit up so he can reach his wound. He manages to just roll over, but bumps the cauterized husk of his heel against the ground and screams out in pain.

His scream is interrupted by the second round of fire.

animorpherv1 has perished.

theamatuer departs the kitchen and turns down the hallway. As he glances in the doorways along the hall (one leading to an office, the opposite to the bathroom), he hears quiet sounds of movement in the room at the end of the hall. Treading carefully, he sneaks up to the door and opens it a crack...

...where he sees a young man and woman looking back at him, obviously interrupted in the middle of a game of chess.

JDGA and Katty Bard have joined the game.

Dodging between the mecha's legs, Mist7676 spots a hand-hold near the base of the machine's tail. She leaps up and grabs it, then pulls herself onto the machine's back. Bracing with both legs and one hand against the bucking of the mecha beneath her, she grabs a handle and opens a hatch on the back of the machine ... where she discovers the cramped compartment in which the alien is currently controlling the machine.

Turning away from the stranger at the door, JDGA returns his attention to the chessboard. He deftly moves a knight and sits back with a smug look on his face. Katty looks at the board in disbelief, before violently flipping the table to the side and rising to her feet. Nonplussed, JDGA gets up and walks over to theamatuer, who is breathless from his flight upstairs.

"What's eatin' you, mate?" JDGA asks.

theamatuer practically screams back in frustration. "Have you not seen what's going on with the world at the moment? Zombies walking the earth, giant ships from space, millions of people dead. We need to move NOW! Three of these grey freaks are following me right now. They can't be more than a minute behind me. Do you have any weapons?"

Katty speaks up. "No, we haven't needed any yet. I'll go and search the apartment now. I'm Katty Bard, by the way, and this is JDGA."

"I'm theamatuer," he replies. "I'll guard the door while you two find something to fight with. Is there anybody else with you?" JDGA and Katty both shake their heads. "Ok, well there's a few other survivors I was with but I got separated from them a few hours ago. I'm not quite sure where any of them are; I think I remember somebody saying something about a large metal structure downtown. We should probably go check that out after we deal with our current problem."

A few blocks over, jmj3000 is lying on the sidewalk of a street near the remains of his shotgun. He is surrounded by 9mm ammunition and is holding a Beretta with two rounds in the magazine, as well as a bag of shotgun shells. His leg is injured, although not too severely.

CSL is also lying on a sidewalk, also with an injured leg. A mecha is next to her and is traversing its gun towards her.

Mist7676 is currently attempting to climb inside one of the large mechas. She is currently facing the back of the alien that is piloting the machine.
