I don't think that I've spammed at any point in the game. I don't know about spam being scummy. It might show a certain level of happiness with the fact that nothing is going on. And scum are probably feeling happy right now with the level of participation. Mostly though, if at some point ppl want to look back over the thread, they have to sift through the junk to find relevant things, and that's not helpful.

Now, I don't really see any good reason why, but I don't like this post of Fircoal's. It's a joke, but...I dunno. Anyway, onto (hopefully) clearer things.

Fircoal's post 104:

There are only 7 players in this game. 4 votes is a lynch.

As SL points out a few posts later, you only have to look 2 or 3 posts before Ernie's vote to see that it's not the hammah. Could be an attempt to get Nightfall to claim, thinking the game is over, although I don't think Nightfall is stupid enough to fall for that. I know I'm reaching a bit here, but in a game this bereft of anything to go on it's as good as anything.

Ripley's post 140:

This game just refuses to gather momentum, doesn't it?

Ernie would be my choice for a lynch right now. I didn't like any part of the Nightfall thing, the not counting votes, not knowing if he'd hammered, the awful reasoning for doing it.

I'm still wary of putting him at lynch -1, because it doesn't seem like this game has anything like enough content to go to night. But something does need to happen. I'm going to try and find time to reread and reconsider the game later tonight, and if I don't find anything new I'll probably be voting for Ernie.

a) I don't agree with any of the second paragraph. It's pretty clear that Ernie knew he wasn't hammering, and that the other players got him worried afterwards for no reason, and I think that seeing if scum would pounce and hammer was a pretty good reason to do it in such a slow game.

b) In the same post in which you complain about the lack of momentum, he says that he's wary of putting him at lynch -1. That would be a pretty bloody good method of getting some momentum going, and if someone jumps on and hammers - hello, scum.

I had some minor reservations about Nightfall before the whole Ernie thing started up (see post 82 for details). Reading through again, I still feel uneasy about him. The almost total lack of content is a problem, but in this particular game it hardly even stands out from everyone else. But I've been in a couple of games lately where a scum about to be lynched started saying "guys this is a terrible mistake if you lynch me it'll be down to lylo tomorrow and you don't want that..." - you know the kind of thing, where they completely avoid addressing any of the charges against them, and I just got that feel from a couple of Nightfall's posts:

For good reasons this time. This is good posting, with a good case and helpful intentions of trying to find something scummy - and succeeding.

Ripley's case on Nightfall sort of disappeared - people basically said "Ripley looks protown" and then talked about whether that was a null tell for him. If it had been just one person doing that I would have FoSed them for trying to take the heat off a scumbuddy, but quite a few people did that, so I can't. Nightfall, could you go back and answer Ripley's post about you, please, and if you did, please tell me where it was as I must have missed it. Until then (and possibly after),

The 3rd quoted post of me, I thought at the time Ripley was pro-town, which now I realize that it's a null-tell since he does it in other games. The scumteam was just an idea that I had that until disproved made sense.

2) I didn't really see anything that you said about that quote as evidence, or really something that really would be scummy.

3) What reasons were made clear that they couldn't be scum buddies. Wouldn't it be better if they were known as a group that isn't likely to be buddies together. So they furthered themselves apart. So if one of them is lynched then, the other won't be under as much suspicion. I know that trying to find scum-tells is a pro-town thing.

I'm confused about that. Your last post doesn't make sense. It seems that you first said that you were disproved, then 5 posts later you asked what reasons there were for Nightfall/Ernie not being scumbuddies. Those two things don't make any sense together.

I gave some reasons for not thinking they're scumbuddies in my post 155.
