Kingmaker meets Roman History and the principle of Collegiality.
Instead of one King, there are two Consuls with absolute vetoing power. The Town also gets to elect Tribunes to protect its interests with a limited veto. Each day will also have a maximum length of 4 weeks.
216 BC, Cannae. Hannibal, with 54,000 men on his side, faces off against a 87,000 large Roman army, the largest army Rome had ever amassed. It proved to be one of the bloodiest battles of all time as Hannibal's superior grasp of tactics decimated the Roman army killing around 60,000 of its men while suffering but 16,000 Carthaginian losses.
212 BC, Rome, Hannibal infiltrates Rome. Can the Roman Republic and the Roman Senate survive or will its grand history be subverted by anarchy and Carthage?
Note: the 212 BC-thing didn't actually happen.
