Can you upgrade an office multiple levels a week?

Independednt of the last question, is the upgrade resources cumulutive or one-off?
(i.e. from going from level 1 to 3, is it 7 timbers or 5timbers? Going from level 2 to 3, is it 5 timbers or 3 timbers?)

(Can I shotgun Asia? I'm a Jap...)

Isn't it a good idea to numerically code each trade? So instead of

Trade 1 timber for 85 coins with Lawrencelot

It should be

Can you trade goods with goods?

Are the trasactions instantaneous? i.e. Asia buys slaves from Brittania. Does it arrive in asia instantaneously or do I have to wait a turn for the resource to arrive?

If you want to upgrade an office, do you have to have the required resource in your province? If so, I can see this is going to be a problem later where we can't physically occupy the resource in that province to upgrade to the next level.

Suppose you own Graecea and Alpes. Then follow these steps.

1: Buy wine in Graecea (9000G)
2: Sell wine in Alpes (12000G)
3: Repeat these step n times.

Then your total profit would be 3000(n+1)G depending on how many times you care to trade with yourself.

I have a problem with this.

The value changes every week, yes, this would make a game fairer. But I see a few problems.

For example, I have full capacity on timber at this moment. But I might not choose to sell it this week, but timber price has decreased since yesterday. But if I do this, I can't buy anything next week. So it is unadvisable.

I have thought of all possible solutions, and I'll explain why some will not work.

1. Scrap phase system

This will fail, for the reasons discussed previously. (Keep buying from your region then keep selling it to rome/vice versa, making you infinitely rich.

2. Scrap Rome, and limit people to one region.

A long term solution, and it is closer to a classic trading game. A drawback is it is quite a radical change to the rules, and the game itself.

3. Bite the bullet, but increase all the maximum capacity to feasible levels.

Increase the capacity because you'll need to have space later on in the game. I haven't considered all the factors in this one so it could be flawed.

Thing about this game is if you get a decent region, then you don't trade with other people. That would be helping others to get richer, and if you are winning, it is not in your interest to do so.

No one is doing it right now, because the game hasn't progressed anywhere far enough. If your regions are such that you can trade with maximum profit, then why bother trading with anyone else? Trading will only help those who are less well off, and that is not in your interest if you are winning.

Okay everyone. I'm going to be out of this game. But I'm going to do something fun.

I'm going to sell the office and region to the highest bidder. My rome office is going to be destroyed. And then I'm going to redistribute my wealth to the people who didn't win Asia in the auction.

Here's how it works.

Bidding starts
Highest bidder wins the region, office. Bidders have 24hrs to make their bid after the previous one.
Once the winner is decided, I will distribute what wealth I have.
Finally, I make the transaction with the winner of the region.
