Do capacity limits take place at the end of the week? I mean, with my 20 capacity from two offices, can I have 20 resources plus the 4 resources to upgrade an office, plus the two grain to maintain my offices? Or could I purchase 100 units of something provided I trade it away by the end of the week?
I was going to use Excel to maintain my trades. Is it possible to get your tables in a text format so I don't have to retype everything into Excel?
Also, can my buying phase last more than one post, provided I haven't started the trading or selling phases yet?

One final capacity/phase question:
Is this how things work:
begin buy phase - two lvl 1 for 20 capacity.
buy 4 timber and 4 brick - unused capacity is 12
upgrade both offices to lvl2 - 8 resources consumed and 4 additional capacity added from upgrade. Unused capacity is now 24.
Buy 24 whatever - Unused capacity is 0.
Trade phase begins, with no unused capacity, I may not get more resources than I give.
Sell phase where I unload all remaining resources except the 2 grain needed to maintain my offices.
Sell:
Resource qty price total
Marble 12 850 10200
Final Inventory:
Resource qty
Timber 2
Grain 2
Revenue 10200
Available Coins 10206
Available Capacity 20
I'm done for the week!

I would appreciate it if the trade values for Afrika's "High-end" goods could be evaluated. In every case, that regions buy price is the same or higher than Roma and the sell price is also either the same or lower than Roma.

I'm trying to guage the interest for my slaves before I buy anything.
Preferred trade - 24 slaves to Sprontic for 6 marble
Second best - 19 slaves to CES for 8 bricks
Others may make me offers as well.
I think the olive oil and wine spreads are a bit oversized with respect to Rome. We've got a few people who can sit back and trade one unit each turn to Rome and net at least 2k. I can't get close to that much in profit during a turn unless I can get someone to make a very unbalanced trade with me.

If you're referring to my preferred offer, I'm agreeable if you are willing to take all 24 slaves for 6 marble. Otherwise I would rather trade with CES.
Offer 24 slaves to sprontalic for 6 marble
Please let me know soon if you don't plan to accept so I can make a trade with CES.

Before I make my purchases, I'll weigh in on the pricing issue. I think the biggest issue is that the intent of the game is to trade with others, otherwise it's simply about winning the lottery to pick the site with the most favorable trade route to Roma. Now, I don't think that all prices should be so volatile as to change each week. Some kind of random event that impacts prices - bad storms in Roma wipe out olive groves or bandits attack your caravan confiscating goods/ransom or even some regions assess tariffs on others. The risk could be announced ahead of time or kept entirely random. I do think that without
some
volatility, there is a risk that the game gets stale - everyone making the same trades week after week.

Yeah, that was entirely my fault. I made an offer before I had the goods when I should have just had Sprontalic make me the offer and I could accept after I had bought.

I need to make a correction to my last buying phase post. I started this week with 10,206 coins. I purchased 1,600 coins worth of goods, leaving me with 8,606 coins. My next purchase used 3,654 coins, which would leave me with 4,952 coins, not the 2,048 indicated in my post.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Inventory:
Resource qty
Slaves 2
Grain 2
Marble 6
Remaining Capacity 18
Remaining Coins 4952
Sell:
Resource office qty price total
Marble Afrika 6 850 5100
Slaves Roma 2 180 360
Net Proceeds 5460
I think that the offering to Ceres is an incredible steal!
Not only do you get the equivalent of at least two grain for only five coins, it also gives you the benefit of not holding that grain in your inventory.
No thanks. With my current trade with Hacker, I'm basically buying slaves for 1300/8 slaves. Also I'll need 20 slaves as opposed to 8 if I want to get the best profit for myself.
@Hacker: Can we do 5 marble trades for 20 slaves instead of 7 for 28 this time?
I would of course prefer the largest trade possible (28:7) but if you need to back off of it, I can't really say no.
Given the nature of the weeklong game phase, it might be better to have the myth powers start the following week. That way we can plan around them a little bit. If I were to buy the power that messed with prices in Roma, it would make things very messy this round.
