V/LA weekends
We'd be getting either the Mario bundle or the Zelda one. (Probably the Mario bundle, especially as best buy is meant to be running a bundle on black Friday weekend that has Mario u and Luigi u along with Nintendoland and a Wii remote for $320.)
It also almost certainly dictates us getting another TV stand as the one we have is not going to accommodate the extra system.

If you like Nintendo games (read: Super Mario 3D World, Smash, Pikmin 3[this isn't a system seller though], Zelda (Wind Waker or waiting for the Wii U title), Metroid and FE (since SMTxFE is somewhat still real?) then you should buy a Wii U.

Anything else? No, not really.
I haven't played any Nintendo exclusives since the N64, and out of Mario 64 and the two Zelda games, I only really enjoyed Orcarina of time. Would like to give Nintendo exclusives another chance, and buying the system would give us two generations of them. (The wii ones as well.) I'm just not sure if I'm going to be happy with what we get.
Mostly wondering if the newer Marios are more like Mario 3 on the NES and Super Mario World on the SNES and less like Mario 64. (I more or less outright dislike that game.)

Monster Hunter 3U is an amazing game and easily the consoles current best, and I'm a huge nintendo fan.
So far Super Mario 3D World might be better but It just came out and I haven't gone through all of it yet.

Heeeeeeeeeeey! I pretty much dislike Mario 64 as well though I prefer it to some things.
I think if you played 3D world you would enjoy it. (Bonus points if you have a friend to play through it with you, that adds a different level of entertainment)
One of the considerations is actually 2 player games. It's something you don't get much of outside of sports games on newer systems these days. You get online games that require you to buy a 2nd copy of the game and a 2nd copy of the console... argh.

I don't see the difference between the Wii U and the Wii that would justify $200 higher price point except that awful controller.
Finished up a couple marathon days of Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies. Very, very good. Exactly what I wanted from a PW game. Might even be the best one I've played, there were a lot less times evidence needed to be presented that didn't really make sense. I'd had multiple times in prior games where I couldn't figure out what evidence to present at all, and I didn't have that in this one. Very well done.

No, buy now on PC. It's 20 dollars on Amazon. Ends midnight tonight, presumably.
The DLC is probably watchable.
AC4 is fantastic but just looks like shit if you don't have a high-end PC (due to bad optimization) or a PS4/Xbone (I'm not sure how WiiU looks but I've been told it does actually compare to nextgen)
If you don't care about graphics, then go for 360/PS3 when they get down to 20. There's no reason in a holiday season that you should be paying more than 30 dollars for a game. If the price is that high, you can wait.
That being said, old-me can go fuck itself. The 3DS XL is on sale at Target tomorrow for 150 (170?) dollars. That does include the Zelda which may be 170 but still--that's the lowest.
Get origins on sale now. All the DLC for past games were skins, handful of riddler trophies, and the whole cage fights/predator thingy that I never got into.
Well, I gave my friend money to pick up a PS4 and/or a Xbox One and The Last of US at Walmart today, since I worked. After I got off (around 11:30p), I dropped by Walmart to scavenge. Got the last Xbox One and the last The Last of Us in stock. Got home, and apparently my friend bought me the exact same thing. So it looks like I got 2 Xbox Ones to sell and a copy of The Last of Us. This should cover the cost of the PS4.
