Game over, Town wins!
Twito/The Fonz Mafia Roleblocker
Ernie/CDB Mafia Goon
Ripley Doc
Nightfall Cop
SL/Skruffs, Fircoal, and Patrick townies
Nightchoices are as claimed (scum killed Patrick obv)
Apoligies for my screwups, both by letting town know that the mafia tried to kill and forgetting to let Twito/Ernie know who their scumbuddy was at first; though Ernie never saw my mistake); I also sent Patrick a PM with the deadline with nightchoices thinking he had one .Last edited by bird1111 on Mon Apr 09, 2007 8:36 am, edited 1 time in total.-

That was a disjointed sort of game. Similar to the c9 game I played with Ripley before - town did nothing much at all on day 1 then won due to poweroles.
Re Ripley, he was the most obvious town of the lot, so I pretty much assumed the Ripley hate was all scum propoganda. I thought he was a strange choice of investigation on night 1, especially when Nightfall seemed to think he was town as well.
Skruffs, lucky Fonz was the roleblocker and not the goon I mainly suspected Skruffs because he kept trying to put around the idea of people who didn't lynch Fircoal being great and people who did being bad. And the suggestion about no lynching on day 1 didn't make much sense. Hmm. And he seemed to be hedging his bets on the claimed doctors, which was why I kept asking him which one he believed. The only connection between Twito and Ernie/CDB that I can think of offhand was something I'd remarked on much earlier, where Twito made that pretty pedantic case against me for apparently "misrepresenting" Ernie. Maybe Ripley and Nightfall would have set me straight about Skruffs/CDB, I'm not sure which way they were leaning.
Cheers for the game. It seems like I'm getting alot of vanilla townie roles.Primpod 11:13 pm

I thought The Fonz turned in a great performance as our replacement, especially since he knew there was a fair chance it was already a lost cause. So thanks to him.
I thought CDB was the other scum, not because of anything he'd done, but because I really thought Skruffs was innocent. I couldn't see a scum pointing out to us how we could tell from the mod's post that there must have been a nightkill, since apparently nobody else had noticed this. (Maybe they had, but nobody had said so.) He was driving me nuts at one stage guessing aloud, but I was fairly sure this was genuine. (Skruffs, I'm sorry if I got a bit snappy, but I was worried you were giving things away. I hope all is forgiven.)
Looking back, it's a shame the first day was so endless and so dire. Maybe the argument "long first days are good for the town" can be taken too far. In this particular game we could have lynched Fircoal after ten minutes and it would have made no difference, to me at any rate. Did anybody else actually look back at Day 1? Without the successful doc protect the roleclaiming might not have been so effective and maybe we'd have been forced to try, but I don't know that there was anything much there to help us.
Thanks also to the mod; we didn't make it easy for you. I doubt that I'll ever get so many prods in a game again.-

To be honest mate, I just wanted to get in a game, what with my newbie game having pretty much stalled and the minis I've signed up for not started yet. Kind of got the impression NightFall had something on me when he said 'You have a case, eh?' But hey, can't fault a guy for trying. Not sure how advisable it is in a general context to replace a scummer who's been counterclaimed by a guy with an innocent investigation on him, mind.Ripley wrote:I thought The Fonz turned in a great performance as our replacement, especially since he knew there was a fair chance it was already a lost cause. Whilst I'm here, here's the results of the last 25 newbie games in which a Townie was lynched first day- three of them featured no scum on the bandwagon at all. Like I say, these were all easy scum wins. I'd imagine it goes without saying that it's probably lot harder to get four townies to jump on another when playing with experienced folks than newbies.
326: Both/Mafia 1
314: Both/Mafia 2
319: One/Mafia 3 (Twito was the townie lynched )
312: One/Mafia 4
320: Both/Mafia 5
292: Both/Town 6
299: One/Town 7
307: One/Mafia 8
296: One/Town 9
297: One/Mafia 10
290: Both/Mafia 11
295: One/Mafia 12 (Lynch was with only three votes at deadline)
252:Neither/Mafia 13
300: Both/Mafia 14
298: Neither/Mafia 15
288: One/Mafia 16
280: Both/Town 17
210: Neither/Mafia 18
208: One/Town 19
207: One/Mafia 20
206: Neither/Mafia 21 (Deadline lynch with three votes)
205: One/Mafia 22
201: One/Mafia 23
287: One/Mafia 24
293: One Mafia 25
Does anyone know off hand at about what number the newbie games switched to C9 as standard?-

That would have been interesting so long as he clamed an innocent on Twito; risky though as if one was lynched the other was doomed.Ripley wrote:
I wonder how it would have gone if CDB had claimed cop (in addition to Twito claiming doc).bird1111 wrote:Had Twito claimed cop not doc the scum still would have had a chance.-
