Actually it's great logic. I assume my lunch is very much like everyone's else, so it's easy to assume the item in your lunchbox that you have a lot hurts the least in comparision to the other items.JDodge wrote:

I don't like that. It shouldn't hurt you that much. Just a warning.

If no one assumes, then the game is broken and never moves past day one. No?Erg0 wrote:

It doesn't work like that, but we are far enough in the game to stop randomly throwing food.Tarhalindur wrote:Guys, stop throwing food NOW.
In case you hadn't noticed (I hadn't until just now), DGB's comments in the signup threads make it pretty clear that this game has a permavote mechanic. Unless I am very much mistaken, not only can we not take back thrown food,. In other words, Skruffs will have at least 10% damage on him FOR THE REST OF THE GAME.thrown food is not removed at night
The next person to disregard this warning is helping the scum and needs to die. Understood?-

I'm pretty sure that 100% isn't half of all the food in this game. Since votes can't be taken back and the fact each food item hits people differently, I can't see this being the case.ShadowLurker wrote:Looks like we have 40%-50% of damage out.
It requires 100% to lynch someone.
If 100% is half, we already must get 3/4th of the remaining items to agree.
Am I still overreacting? It seems more likely that Yamahako and JordanA24 don't want us to lynch someone today.
That said, I am still in the agreement that saving our food right now is the correct move (no matter how I want to just randomly throw food in satify the flavor of the game).-

JDodge, he claimed that he had something 100x peas, so I'm pretty sure that they aren't going to hurt very much.JDodge wrote:
He threw like 6 things at Tar for minimal reasons. He asked for it.Gorrad wrote:I'm fine with throwing. Throw all you want. What I DON'T want is a mindless bandwagon. Mindless bandwagoning happens when people don't say WHY they're tossing their cookies. That's why I dodn't like Yama's throws, because he often (although not always) don't explain why he's doing it. It's why I didn't like the mashed potatoes or 7-up! No explanation as to why. I agree he's scummy, but I want an explanation when you throw. You do that, I'm happy.
You should have waited till the update popped up to see the damage. That's what I am currently doing.-

I also have the same type of restriction. If you couldn't tell, I'm a Mexican. I'm suppose to say a Spanish word every post such as por favor or Ole. Of course, been a bit forgetful though, which is why I have a bunch of double posts...Sir Tornado wrote:
Well, I am, at least post restricted. I need to say at least one Japanese word, likeSkruffs wrote: THere is a French, Japanese, Mexican student, (all cuisines, btw)

I doubt you are all post restricted or anything, but it is worth noting that these players have at least attempted in the past to express who their characters were.
I think it would be horribly unfair for the mod to make an entire mafia post restricted, so I don't think that hte 'foreign students' are a scum group. One of them, maybe, though? I guess it depends on what the b ad guys are tryign to do.hara kirionce every post. You can confirm this by reading my predecessor's (pulsewidth's) posts, which does include some sort of Japanese words. It is highly unlikely that we both tried to fake the post restriction.
I really don't see the mafia being post restricted at all. In fact, in some of the PR games I have read, mafia were the ones do did not have a PR.-

What's the point of fake voting if you already voted through throwing food? You also threw food at Skruffs for throwing fake food. Hmm...JordanA24 wrote:
You seem a lot like a Jester to me, but to be honest, you seem too obvious to be a Jester. My guess is that you are scum who's trying to act like a Jester.

I'm not sure if he's a jester, but I wouldn't sure to count out the possibility of one being in the game. It is a food fight and there is a good possibility one of the kids wants to get dirty (he wants to go home, he likes getting getting dirty, etc).Skruffs wrote:This might be taken the wrong way, but... A jester?
I don't see how a jester would be equivalent in this game. Jesters win by getting lynched. Therefore a jester will almost certainly win in such a situation as this, where the only mechanic (that we know of) for eliminating players is by throwing food at them.
Bm, why are you assuming someone is more likely a jester than whateverthe name of the scumgroup is? I guess I am saying that someone would only think that there might be jesters if they knew about some sort of way to eliminate players other than lynching.
I'm basically saying I think you just botched up.
Though I do have to say that the possibility of us not having a scum group is higher in this game than in others, but it there was no scumgroup then it wouldn't be mafia, it would be survivor.-

I'll take your word on Yamahako, but I have to disagree with you about whether or not "hoarding" good is scummy or not. It looks like your lunchbox has a long number of weak jelly beans and that's great. But some of us, including myself, don't have that many items to throw and in turn must save our food. I'm not saying your point of view isn't wrong in the sense that someone with more food at the end of the say will be able to hammer a player easier than someone who wasted their food early in the day because it is. However this early in the game I can't see it as a tell.PlaysWithSquirrels wrote: In my experience with Yamahako, he has a tendency to come off as scummy. This certainly doesn't completely excuse him from being scum, but I don't think he is scummy just because he threw his food relatively quickly. In fact, I'm more suspicious of the people that are hoarding their food because it allows them to be flexible with their "votes" and more effectively eliminate a townie.-

I'm not so sure. The peas look like they do very little if anything at all.JordanA24 wrote:
Doesn't 50 peas for one post seem a little excessive? I know your peas don't seem to do much, but maybe there's a threshold for the amount of peas you have to throw at once before they do any damage. And if you pass that threshold (50 is very likely to, considering you claim to start with 100), they do a lot of damage.Yamahako wrote:ShadowLurker wrote: Yamahako is contradicting himself so much it's ridiculous. Looking at Post 224, he cautions against exhausting our food reserves but then says we need to throw our foods. He says we would be leaving ourselves open to Mafia, yet damaging random people isn't leaving us open to mafia?Throw 50 peas at Shadow Lurker
That's for misrepresentation and not paying attention. Perhaps you'll do both less now.-

I don't think there is suppose to be a lag, but I'm guessing their is an indirect lag because Goofball needs to count the votes. Take my random pepper shot. I basically posted it at the same as the food count when up and then got over looked till you pointed it out.Skruffs wrote: Also, is there some sort of delay between when food is tossed and when it hits? I can imagine there might be a number of posts lag between the throw and the hit, it might explain why some of hte 'splatter counts' are lagging. Or it could be that the mod has to make the post, make an image, post the image to flickr, adn then post a link. Either or.
Good catch. I'm kind of curious of that as well.YAmahako :
So the peas aren't real, are they? Because in your first post you threw "peas", but not a quantity. Now you say there is a set quantity, but the mod could not have guessed how many peas you threw the first one. Explain?
Other totals thrown:
@Tarhalindur; "Peas"
@Skruffs: 1
@Skitzers : "Peas"
@Aimee : "Peas"
@Tarhalindur : "Peas", "peas", "peas", 1 pea, "peas", "peas", 10 Peas
@ Sir Tornado: 15 peas
@SL : 50 peas
I count 77 distinct peas thrown and 8 "Peas" thrown, a minimum of 16, which results in
93 peas.
Are the peas real?
If they are not, is there a reason you are trying to pretend you are throwing food around?
Time to finish up a bunch of papers I've been ignoring before taking a siesta.-

If you didn't care about jesters, why the did you throw food at someone who was testing out the rules of the game?Lowell wrote:1- I think Yama's claim is true. He clearly is suffering disproportionate damage from foodstuffs, and I doubt a scum would be made so weak
2- Why are we talking about jesters still? Who cares?
3-flicks fistful of onions at gorradI don't like his last series of posts. I think he's trying to take us for a ride. He's trying to set himself up as someone who would be useful to keep around. Taste some gross food!
On a side note, I don't have to work today so I get to have a siesta! Score! Or better yet... GOOOAAAAAALLLLL!-

Just a a couple of thoughts on the game:
At this point I think BM and Skruffs are both town. Their arguement reminds me of a townie/townie fight and neither of them are playing differently then in the games I've been involved with them. Though I do have to note that haven't been in a game that they have been scum.
I'm not sure I totally buy the skitzer hate since it was based off a word slip and while I'm confused at the throwing of the M&Ms, it really doesn't mean anything damagewise.
DGBmod: I'm not really sure when a "lynch" happens? Is it when someone gets to 100 or the highest person when the total equals 50?-

I am feeling that the scum groups is a SK/mafia right now, but I could see either of them being the SK. I could see the SK being the principal (or vice-principal) or it could be a school Bully or a renegade adult of some kind with the mob being a group of bullies or it being made up of the administration.-

Just popping in to say that I have not forgotten this game. Two people were fired at work and I've been taking more hours than usual with my full college course load. Thankfully, in the next coming days, a good amount of my final projects will be done, giving me some time to look at this game and get my head straight. Now, it's time for me to take a siesta.-
