Hey all, I'm going to be asking the mod to replace me, hate to have to do it but I'm completely overwhelmed with work for my classes right now and I don't see that getting better till mid December when the semester breaks. It was fun while it lasted.

FlyingHawk, SJ, not to call the kettle black, but you guys are new here. And thus it might stand to reason that you'll make mistakes, especially in the area of keeping things hidden if you have them to hide. And it strikes me as interesting that while you've been quiet all game, you both fairly well jump to defend MoS. This might (indeed, probably) be nothing, but I think it's worth mentioning.

Phate's Argument

People who are newer are more likely to make mistakes when posting. If they are scum, they will be quiet when they can. They have been quiet, except for defending you. If they were your scumbuddies, they would jump to your defence. Therefore, there may be a link between the three of you.

I see nothing illogical with the above, although I have not fact-checked it. FlyingHawk may have been here since May, but he seemed confused by my SK joke, so I think (no disrespect to him) that it's perfectly possible he would act like a newbie in another way. I dislike the fact that you try to pooh-pooh his concerns without actually showing why he is wrong.

How do you know FlyingHawk has played mafia before on another site before he came here?

SJ: Sorry to see you go. Have you considered playing until a replacement is found, and conversing with the person replacing you before they post, if the mod allows?

Initial thoughts:
Most of the players in this game are pretty much useless.
Of those that it is possible to get a read on, I have to agree with much of what's being posted right now. Phate is likely scum, and I can definitely see Miztef as a scumbuddy. If I had to pick the scum right now, I'd say them and one of the lurkers. Flyinghawk and MoS seem town, neutral on Elmo. FL makes decent posts, but he's extremely reactive and answers other people's points rather than making points of his own. Not sure if this is a playstyle thing or not. There was one post from YuanTi that I really didn't like as it effectively said "let's banter randomly until somebody screws up, then we can all jump on them". Other than that, I don't really have a read on anyone else.

@Cephrir: Wow, that's an ironic post. You state "most players have been pretty much useless this game" and you just state opinions on players with very little evidence... Wonderful. So your "not having a read on anyone" is makes you not "pretty much useless? Okay there.

Flying Hawk is not at all suspicious to me. He's neutral at worst. I honestly don't care too much how new he is, I'd say he must have the basics down by now being on the site for that period of time. I do agree that I would like to know the experience of a scumbuddy, but MoS could have gotten that information from other sources, and I don't consider that good evidence against MoS.

Phate continues to seem scummy to me. I want to get my thoughts clearer on this, so I may be posting a case against him soon.

Elmo has dug himself into the game heavily. It would dangerous if he is scum. Nothing I have seen of his has struck me as extremely pro-town, so I think I will be looking into him as well.

I just entered the game, I can't qualify as useless. I'm talking about people who lurk continuously and never give opinions (skitzer, for example). I'm giving opinions, and the fact that I'm not necessarily supporting them with clear evidence in my post doesn't mean anything. Maybe I agree with what's already been said; maybe I'd rather keep my reasons to myself; maybe I don't feel like posting them. You don't know why I didn't, so don't jump to conclusions. I wouldn't be terribly opposed to a Phate-lynch - there are worse people to lynch - as long as the rest of the town examines the wagon afterwards.

For the record, I'm suspicious of (in order of greatest to least) MoS, Miztef, Cephrir (more because of SJ than anything), and FlyingHawk. Further bulletins as events warrant.

I don't care how experienced my scumbuddies are. I just assume they're all n00bs unless I know them, and then half of them are n00bs anyways. Anybody who's played with me as scum would know that. Which is probably, like, no one in this game right now. But whatever.
