Mafia can make obviously scummy play page 5. You've played mafia, you know this. Your comments 'we are only page 8, there can't be anything serious yet', your blatant avoidance of town suspects, constant lurking and lack of contribution to the early game discussion is anti-town. I'm not saying this is scummy, else I would have voted you - I think this is moronic.

And, for the record, me and Battle Mage are the only viable policy lynches on mafiascum.

Quite personally, I believe MoS was just annoyed, for whatever reason. I certainly consider his remarks a null tell. I know the kind of thing ABR does is sometimes handy to spark discussion, but, uh, Jester? C'mon. MoS's better than that, for starters.

I'm not liking a lot of the stuff coming from Jordan's direction, but I'm sitting tight on Sikario until he speaks up for himself.

Objectively, MoS's most recent posts, though considerably wordier than his earlier collection of posts of less than 5 words, one can easily conclude that he continues to contribute nothing but sticks in the town's wheels disguised as some bizarre agenda/personal vendetta/policy lynch. His posts are nothing more than trash, content-wise, hollow post count boosters, giving the impression of participation.

Who is useless, and sucking the fun out of the game? If that is the criteria for a policy lynch, MoS would have be lynched quite thoroughly already.

Right now, I'm still not feeling it. I don't think it's a bad wagon per se, but I just don't interpret his comments the way everyone else seems to. Maybe he really is scum and someone needs to whack me with a clue-by-four, but personally I'm pretty surprised it went as far as it did. I just don't see e.g. Yos in 173 the same way. He gets defensive, he's worried about being lynched, aye? Big whoop? It's not smart, but it's not really something he should be lynched for, in my opinion - I wouldn't expect much different from someone who had a tendency to talk themselves into the gallows historically.

I'm actually well tempted to vote for Jordan. Stuff like 146 and the MoS comments make me think he's just stirring the pot rather than being useful. I'm also concurring with Yosarian about Viper as well, not liking 157 at all, then the big silence, eh. Think I might shift my vote soon, Sikario's supposed to be back tomorrow, right?

I... don't really get it. MoS's stance on TS is surprising to me as I haven't seen it from him before, even in a game (ongoing) that we were all in recently. I'm on the verge of disregarding this whole thing as general weirdness, but there's something about this situation that makes me feel like there's more to it.

It feels like distancing. MoS and TS are both experianced players, know what is and isn't out of character of eacher and each have more then enough games under their belt to be metagamed. I have a feeling MoS is looking bad for TS to look good. This theory is far-fetched but it's all I got on the situation.

Still voting peers.

I am only guessing myself, but I do think it has to do with some ongoing game, and no more should be said about it.

For once, i agree wholeheartedly with ABR. MoS is not making any sense at this point, and i'm suspicious of those defending him so much. I mean, MoS pissed off is not scummy. Its a total null-tell. BUT, MoS pissed off over something totally trivial and pathetic, is pretty scummy. He needs to get his act together, and start helping the game progress.

Case closed.

For everyone's information, Quagmire has decided to copy MoS's game-ruining "policy lynch" me strategy. I am very disappointed that people sign up to pursue silly personal agendas rather than play the game. A serious downside of that kind of behavior is that it becomes impossible to gauge the player's alignment (Quag & MoS) because they are, quite sadly, not playing the game at all.

And just this afternoon, it dawned on you that I am mafia in every game we're in?

What you seem to forget is that you and your mentor are ruining the game for everybody.

Poke all you want, I will not destroy other players' enjoyment by engaging in petty feuds, OMGUS votes, or exchange in battles of insults with either of you.

I am here to play the game and have fun.

gotta stand with TS on this one. (and no, i'm not basing this on my 'Quagmire is always wrong' meta). I'd now like to see Quagmire explain why he thinks TS is scum. Because if anyone was getting policy-lynched here, it'd most probably be Quag himself. (or me, but we'll gloss pretty swiftly over that ;))

And knowing MoS, i'd like to see what he has to say about Quag atm.

I'm not ruining the game for anybody. I'm voting for you because I'm fairly sure that you're mafia.

How could this possibly be a petty feud or OMGUS or insulting? I'm voting for you because I don't like your reactions in this game. They're screaming mafia to me. Get over it.

She's reacting much too much on the recent votes for her.

Back on page four, or whatever, she made a smelly case against someone that I haven't been able to tell is sarcastic or not. If it wasn't, it was terrible and a disgusting attempt at opportunism.

Since MoS and I have voted for her, she has reacted very emotionally to the votes, and in her posts, it's simple to tell that she's simply been masking her intensity through a fit of apathy, something in which if she were actually apathetic about it, she wouldn't care in the first place.

It's kind of like reading body language and tone in RL mafia. I get signals of distress from her, but the way her posts are worded it seems like she's trying to mask her distress behind a wall of emotionless brick.

I didn't say there can't be scumtells committed. I said that there's nothing wrong with an early game policy vote. It's not like we're going to ignore the beginning of the game later. It's just that I don't have to go around pursuing every little dumb thing that happens.

Why is it suspicious or even unusual for someone to react to MoS's post in that way? Being called a "crackpot idiot" and so on.

It's not necessarily unusual to react (although come on, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen) to what he said, but the way she reacted is what set me off.

Speaking as someone who's reacted that way plenty of times before... there's nothing wrong with that. TS could be distressed at once again being killed day 1 for no good reason beyond "Hey, someone doesn't like me."
