ABR has a point. A weak one, but still a point. I feel I have a stronger point: My revealing who I protected does absolutely nothing. They may not have been targetted. They may have. If I reveal a name, and they -were- targetted, all it does is confirm my doctorship to someone who has the ability to kill me. If I reveal a name and they weren't targetted, well, nobody can verify it anyway.
Given that I think the only reason I'm alive is that the mafia (and SK if there is one) thinks my claim is bunk. I have no reason to want to confirm myself to them.-

Wrong question, you mean what will it lose if hedoes. Look at it like this:
If he's scum, the claim is totally meaningless, because he can pick a living player more or less randomly and there's no way to prove or disprove his claim (barring a tracker or similar power role, I suppose, but even then we can't prove what his actual ability is unless his target got dead).
If he's town, his reasoning will consist of "I think this guy was town and/or a power role". It gives scum a hint of who the doctor will be protecting if he's still alive tonight. It gives the scum hints on who might have a power role. Even if it turns out that he actually did block a kill it doesn't give us a confirmed townie because we have three killing groups (in that scenario), all of which could be scum.
In summary, the claim proves nothing and possibly gives the scum an advantage. That's a pretty good reason not to get one, I think."You were doing well until everyone died."

So your theory is that the scum left you alive because they think you're not really a doctor? I don't like the fact that you're even thinking like this...Peers wrote:Given that I think the only reason I'm alive is that the mafia (and SK if there is one) thinks my claim is bunk. Peers, quit making babies cry!
Everytime you talk you make puppies stomp kittens, and then those puppise get stomped by cows.
Scenario A:You claim your target.
SO WHAT!? The person who killed KNOWS something stopped them. They're going to assume it's you anyways. So what you're doing is just hiding information from somebody who mayalready have it
And what will it do for the town?Absolutely nothing. The scum have no reason to disbelieve you. The town has reason too. Maybe you blocked a vig kill, IF you blocked a kill. The vig should NOT come out to confirm you. That would make babies crush crying kittens, while the babies cried.
Scenario B:You come out with your information.
WHO CARES, IT'S USELESS.
FoS:Peers for the auto overdefensiveness at hiding his target.Since you didn't go through any of the above thought process, you must have thought it would confirm your claim one way or another. This shows an extreme lack of hesitation to confirm yourself.
FoS:ABRFor just being stupid and trying to press something retarded.
Now can we PLEASE stop making babies cry?Untrod Tripod (7:27:18 PM): you enjoy whoring
xcaykex (7:27:24 PM): yes
xcaykex (7:27:26 PM): i know that-

Peers is extremely dodgy and I don't buy his claim. However, if he's scum, as long as he's alive, he can't kill a claimed cop. If and when the cop dies, we might have to kill Peers. We have to keep a close eye on his voting pattern.
Players I'm willing to vote for today:
Panzer (who rushed to lynch Kscope in a way that prevented him to claim)
hasdagas (who rushed to hammer Kscope in a way that prevented him to claim)
zu_Faul
SirTornado
Setael
Players I'm not willing to vote for today:
ABR (I totally believe the claim)
Bookitty
Jordan

Doctors should not reveal their preferred target, in general. If they do, it reduces the chances that they will prevent a kill, because the scum will purposely avoid that target in the future.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

The mayor wasnothappy. Funny how having two bodies turn up can do that to a man. Then there was that business with the podium. The hooded man (they still who or what had killed him) had been wearing a ring which carried a symbol identical to the one painted on the front of the podium - a giant eye, staring at him. Day after day. It irritated him. Clearly, there was some mystery going on here, but he didn't understand what.
He was standing in the morgue. The morgue was a small, draughty, ramshackle building where an old man with a sour smile and an even more sour temperament spent a disturbing amount of time performing autopsies on anything that died in the village - be it pigeon, family pet or, as in this, case, human. He seemed to have an almost unholy sense for death, and had been known to turn up at the door a full hour before the invalid actually died. He was known as the magpie by the local townsfolk.
The mayor stared at the bodies. There were several pigeons, a parrot, and a turtle currently on display along with the four dead. The man who had been lynched, and the two who had turned up... wait, four? The mayor checked the faces of each in turn. There was the jailkeeper, there was the villager, there was man in the hooded robe... and one more? Dreading what he was about to find, he slowly removed the grubby white sheet which covered the dead man's face...

Umm.. now I don't think we want to discuss whether he should tell his target or not, at least, and we can have some real discussion.
TS, don't you want to lynch Quagmire anymore? If no, why not?
Also:
Hypocrisy. You were calling for a lynch almost all of Day 1.TS wrote:Players I'm willing to vote for today:

What is your case other than OMGUS and that she doesn't act reasonable (which is what I gathered from rereading your posts)?quagmire wrote:2) Why does nobody listen to my case against Bookitty? It's a good case indeed.-

Well then. What an....interesting revelation.
TS: If I and Panzer had done the same with less than 7 hours to go before deadline on someone who hadn't posted in the same amount of time as Kscope and had turned out to be mafia/werewolf when we killed them, would you be making such a big deal over the quick voting? I honestly had lost count of the votes. I thought he was at 7-8 rather than 9. Have you ever lost count of the votes on someone?jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont

It seems that the players have decided that Quagmire is essential to the game, and his contribution is so invaluable that the game might just fall apart if we lynch him, and we absolutely need him at end game. I decided that I will not say another word about Quagmire.zu_Faul wrote:TS, don't you want to lynch Quagmire anymore? If no, why not?
You all want to keep him forever, you can have him.
Of course, but we don't lynch without giving the player a chance to claim. Considering how wishy washy we've been with Quagmire, including players like hasdagas, it's ironic that we ended up speedlynching a player at the eleventh hour, without giving him an opportunity to claim.zu_Faul wrote:

Kscope did not turn out to be mafia/werewolf. Your question is a red herring.hasdgfas wrote:TS: If I and Panzer had done the same with less than 7 hours to go before deadline on someone who hadn't posted in the same amount of time as Kscope and had turned out to be mafia/werewolf when we killed them, would you be making such a big deal over the quick voting? We were at deadline. It doesn't matter whether you actually hammered him.
What matters is that you brought him so far ahead of the competing wagon that even if he claimed Cop, there was not enough time to retrieve votes from his wagon, and instead lynch Quagmire, who'd merely claimed vanilla.
Remember how bloody careful you were trying to save Quagmire's tutu? You threw all caution to the wind to save his tutuagainwhen it looked like he was going to be deadline lynched after all.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

Right, it doesn't matter because he already had more votes than Quagmire and we have no way of knowing whether or not enough people would have unvoted kscope in time for us to lynch Quag or anyone else.
Also, just because I disagree with you about Quagmire's actions doesn't mean I'm "trying to save him." I would have been perfectly ok with a quag lynch if that was the final decision, but I was happier with a kscope lynch. Yes, I should have counted the votes, but I didn't.
My question isn't a red herring, it's a rhetorical question. I would like to know the answer to it.jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont

Wrong.hasdgfas wrote:Right,
There was no reason for you and Panzer to add an extra vote what would make it more difficult for us to start retracting vote in case he claimed, say, jailkeeper. He was already the leader, and he was going to be lynched. If he had time to claim jailkeeper, then maybe only 3 votes instead of 5 would have needed to be retracted for Quagmire to be lynched instead of Kscope.hasdgfas wrote:...it doesn't matter because he already had more votes than Quagmire and we have no way of knowing whether or not enough people would have unvoted kscope in time for us to lynch Quag or anyone else.
I am especially irked because when I saw what the both of you were doing, I PM'd the mod to make sure he prodded Kscope pronto, in addition to leaving a bold mod note in the thread. He had to be notified that he was near being lynched.
But thanks too you, the mod came, counted the votes, and found Kscope already lynched.
You've derailed his first wagon yesterday. You also derailed his second wagon, and cost us a power role to boot. So you haven't only tried to save him, you have been twice succesful in saving him.hasdgfas wrote:Also, just because I disagree with you about Quagmire's actions doesn't mean I'm "trying to save him."Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.

The answer to your red herring/rhetorical question is "Yes" - what you did was scummy no matter the outcome. AT BEST - it was painfully bad town play. At best.Squeezable icing, flaky pastry crust and sweet, gooey fillings are irresistible.
