Talk about all sound and no fury. This last exchange between ryan and Blackberry seems to be exactly that. ryan still seems to be stuck on the idea of Blackberry's theory, which, to me, seems like it was only ever a big deal because people made it into one. This makes ryan's case that Blackberry was just "muddying the waters" less believable. To me, paying so much attention to a fairly insignificant theory that the owner wanted to investigate, but, when it turned out to be nothing, didn't want to share seems to be little more than an attempt to muddy the waters.

That isn't to say that I find Blackberry without fault. He has contributed very little actual analysis and argument to this game. He has posted a lot, but seems more interested in accusing other people of being scum without giving his reasons behind it. The way that Rosso Carne keeps jumping to Blackberry's defense is somewhat strange, but it seems like an especially poor tactic for scum, particularly after he'd already been called on it several times.

Well, there's my take on the exchange of the last couple pages. I know there isn't much of a conclusion, but that's because I don't really know what to do with the information. Both Blackberry and ryan seem to have a lot of bluster without a lot of substance. I don't know that that makes either of them scum, but it certainly doesn't secure either of them as town.

My opinion about the exchange between ryan and Blackberry:

even though I do not agree with the original reason of ryan to vote against BB, I still have to side with ryan in this fight. BB, it is great for you if you know that ryan is scum. However, in order to make a lynch out of that, 7 townspeople would have to know that ryan is scum - and your arguments are not very good at convincing the remaining 6 people that ryan is really scum, and that you are not just either another townie who is jumping to conclusions too quickly, or scum who is trying to get a townie lynched.

So I think that BB is making himself look rather bad in this argument. However, because of the way RC seems to be shielding BB, I prefer to keep my vote where it is. ROTN, you are right that this tactic is rather poor for scum, but as a reason to keep suspicion away from RC, this argument is just WIFOM.

What you are trying to infer here is way off target. My comments were in no way a defense of Ryan's play or opinions thus far in the game. In fact, I think the hammering of the "theory" is ridiculous. The "theory" quote was a joke and not worthy of voting about. My vote has nothing to do with Ryan's reasoning.

This post gives me the creeps. I hate scum pairings this early. The last sentence just makes it worse. "Im going to vote, but watch that someone else doesn't vote or I will jump right off!"

Ordinarily the scum angel on my left shoulder and the town angel on my right shoulder can each come up with a rational for a players statements. In this case, the scum angel has 3 angles. In the first, TheNextscum sees 2 townies, and doesn't care which of them gets lynched. In the 2nd, the creepiness of the post is designed to scare people off that vote by causing them to think #1 (it sure is making me want to unvote RC). In the 3rd, he is trying to avert the growing pressure slowly being ratcheted up on Ryan by putting the focus on a different wagon, since he can't get anything going on Blackberry himself.
I look over at my town angel though, and he is just shrugging his shoulders. TheNexttownie is stirring the pot? Maybe?

The 2nd angle doesn't make a lot of sense to me (I cant see scum drawing fire from a scumbuddy to himself by looking scummy on purpose). The 3rd angle is simply more speculation, and without evidence acquired by some motivation other than a desire to test that theory, it is one not worth pursuing, especially when angle #1 is much simpler.
As town angel has little explanation for me, and scum angle #1 is more likely than scum angle #2 or #3:

This sounds scummy. IMO, if you are going to vote someone, you should support their lynch and not retract when they reach L-1. If your intention is to retract at the last minute, why bother voting? Well, that would make sense if you are scum trying to distance from you partner, of course.

Your town angel told me he thinks that TheNextVI's post #242 is more or less just my post #230 repeated with a scummy retraction disclaimer stuck to the end of it. Though the retraction disclaimer is scummy, IMO, the rest of the post isn't and it could just be the bad play of a VI.

This is not a defense of TheNextVI. I really don't like him repeating my post and then attaching scumminess to the end of my reasoning.
