I have the flu right now and so am a bit sluggish, but I'm not following the logic behind this (and I have not tried to find out why Ryan was banned). Do you mean Jester, not Joker? And what would a ban of a player have to do with alignments of players in this game? Or did you mean something different by 'undercuts'? I'm assuming you mean it undercuts Jester's argument that RyanTamuz wrote:Ryan was banned...
I'm still too hazy this morning to explain why, but I feel this undercuts Joker.iswas scum.?I have a degree in bullshit. I have patents on entire lines of bullshit. So don't sit here and feed me a line of bullshit and think that I'm not going to recognize it as one.

By just looking at ryan's last posts and the general forums, I could not find the reasons for ryan's ban. However, if the he got banned for destroying a game/games, then my previous experience with such people would tell me not to draw any conclusions on his alignment from his behavior.
PS:Mod, I have unFOSed RC when I put my vote back on him.-

Well, I don't know what he was thinking, but after reading through all the day posts, I have a few gut feelings towards some of the people hereJohoohno wrote:@ Battousai: When you've read through the day, I'd like a your thoughts on your predecessors posts.
IGMEOY: Earwig, Blackberry, TNE, Nyktorion, and Johoohno
I have no real reasons behind some of them, its just after reading their posts I just get a feeling. Not enough to warrant a FOS or a vote.
Blackberry's theories made him suspect in the beginning, but also I think some of the people who tried to put that into the limelight and distract people are even more scummy. Those people are: TNE, SlySly, and Ryan. Since Ryan was town, he is act probably just trying to figure out the theory.
Johoohno, the reason I find you the most scummy is that you intentionally try to muddy up the water by implimenting the sk role into people's heads. I see no reason to bring it up on day 1 when there has not been any night actions.-

Tamuz, about me, wrote:Basing his entire case on ryan on an inconclusive meta.
Pieces of my attack that are decidedly not meta:Jester, about ryan, wrote:You're always easily provoked -- look at the other game that you and I shared until recently. But normally, you're as persistent as a tick (and yes, quite aggressive) when you feel like you have a valid target. And you're usually very good about stating your reasoning behind that target. What you're not, usually, is blatantly insulting or given to ad hominem attacks. But in this game, not only are you being insulting, not only are you resorting to ad hominem attacks, but you're also not your persistent or logical self (see post 255). So yeah, you're off your normal track all right.
:arrow: ryan was being deliberately insulting;
:arrow: ryan was resorting toad hominemattacks;
:arrow: ryan was flip-flopping from target to target, following the crowd; and,
:arrow: ryan's attacks weren't particularly reasoned or logical.
Pieces of my attack that are meta:
:arrow: The stuff that's above is not ryan's usual town play-style.
I don't think it's a fair assessment to call my entire attack meta. As pointed out above, the vast majority of it was behavoir that I would consider suspicious coming from anyone. It was just doubly so coming from ryan. So I'm not prepared to pull my vote off him just yet. He's one of the best leads I have so far this game, even if he was banned. Sorry about that, Battousai, but there it is. I'd welcome your comments about your predecessor's play style.
I'm not sure I have a top three. I've got people that I'm suspicious of, but no real suspects yet.Johoohno wrote:Perhaps it's time for each of us to present our top three scum list?
:arrow: ryan bugs me for the four reasons above.
:arrow: As I mentioned earlier, I don't like how Rosso lashes out at people, votes all over the freakin' place, doesn't add true content, and ignores questions directed at him. His whole play-style feels... fake to me. Forced. Like he's acting, not playing. I'd probably move my vote to Rosso, unless he gets back into this game and participates.
:arrow: I'm still not entirely sanguine about Blackberry because of his early font/color experiments. They've dried up since the early game, but I still feel like they might have been some kind of tell, if only I were only smart enough to read it.
:arrow: I'm wary of SlySly because he's always right there offering advice and counsel and commentary, but only rarely jumps in front of the pack to express suspicion about people or ask questions without sarcasm. He always seems to be right behind the crowd ready to vote for who the crowd seems to want lynched. It's notnecessarilyscummy... but it makes me wary.
:arrow: And on the very low end of the scum scale, I don't like how you keep bringing up the game setup.
On the pro-town end, I feel like ROTN, Nyktorion, and Ecto are more townish. I don't have a good read at all on the others, particularly Tamuz and Earwig, the latter of whom is a complete cipher to me.
For some reason, I feel a little... disconnected from this game. And that's definitely not something that happens often. As a matter of fact, I can't think of a single time it's happened to me before. And I'm not sure why it is I feel this way. I think I'm gonna scrap my notes and do a complete re-read of this game from start to finish this weekend, taking new notes along the way and see what comes out of it.I do not play MS on weekends; consider me on V/LA during them-

Your last point actually subsuming the four above is the reason why your attack is perceivable as meta, in my opinion. However, looking at the four above points separately, I would say that the first two points are definitely not conclusive about the alignment of a person who directly breaks the rules in 3 games. That leaves points 3 and 4, but even there, I am not really sure whether it means something about a person who gets himself banned.Jester wrote: :arrow: ryan was being deliberately insulting;

I am also seeing that the sudden focus on TNE has decimated the general attention on RC. To be honest, I do not like it that he gets out of focus without having to defend himself at all. If Ecto's "scum angel #3" from post #243 is telling the truth, then the scum's tactics are working well up to now.-

I really don't like this. Giving a way a list of the most townlike players is a gift to scum. That's the reason I only wanted the top three scum suspects.Jester wrote:On the pro-town end,
@ Nyktorion: I realize that scum might have use of the top scum list too, but am I (and obviously Jester too, judging from his last post) the only ones that don't know, or even have a general feeling even of, the alignment of most the players here?-

I will check who needs to be prodded later tonight.

I never FOS'd him, but Ryan did.You really shouldn't have needed to do that, since part of my replacement policy is that any votes or FoS'es cast by the replaced player are (or, at least, should be) removed as a courtesy to the replacement. Sorry about that! Also, fixed. -Tar

Here are my thoughts on this game at the moment.
I still don't like Johoohno. He's still my number one suspect which is why my vote is still on him. I feel that he's spent the entire game either advocating a quick lynch, or trying to distract from the game with discussions about setup.
I'm also suspicious of Earwig. He seems to have contributed very little actual content to the game, but has often seemed to follow the flow and has shifted his vote numerous times.
FOS: Earwig
I'm really not sure about SlySly, Jester, Battousai/ryan and tne. I'm not getting a very good read off of
I'm slightly suspicious of Rosso Carne and Blackberry, but I suspect that this is more related to the fact that I don't like their play style than that I find anything particularly scummy about their posts. I'll definately keep my eye on Fat_Tony in case he displays any behavior I find suspicious. I would add Tamuz to this group as well.
So far, my instincts tell me that Ectomancer and Nyktorian are pro-town. All this means, is that, if their scum, they are doing a pretty good job at it. I don't intend to let them off the hook any time soon.
This doesn't provide a whole lot usable information. I'm very happy with my vote at the moment. I'd like to hear some concrete ideas from Johoohno about what he think of the players in the game. Who do you think are suspicious and why?-

@ RangeroftheNorth: Are you tipping off the scum whom to kill being most town like? The only alignment discussion that is really valid at this moment is what players that are scummy (and therefore possibly scum). Trying to point out townies is a service to the mafia!
FoS: RangeroftheNorth
Also @ RangeroftheNorth, I am no fan of quick lynches. I have never said that and my only aim has been to move the discussion on, not lynching an innocent. I find it highly interesting that you ask me of my suspects, whereas you very well know that I've given them openly and that is mainly the reason for you calling me scummy as I see it.
@ Fat_Tony: Welcome, when you've read the game I would like you to I'd like your thoughts on your predecessors posts.
