In the opening post, Kerplunk only mentions a mafia family. So whether there are multiple groups (mafia and sk), I am not sure. The stabbing looks like an sk, but mafia may be give that as a kill option.

That comment about how the death looked like an SK smelled like first hand knowledge.

There's nothing stating Mafia can't stab. There's nothing stating that we have an SK. In fact, the opening text clearly says "every day one citizen by democratic voting untill all the mafiosi are dead or until only mafiosi remain." So initial reaction by anyone reading the opening post would be that our only night kill would have to be Mafia, as there's no room in the victory conditions for a serial killer. And yet clearly BK has decided that this stabbing death is more likely a serial killer. And I contend that he knows more than we do -- either because he is the serial killer, or because he's Mafia and made the kill and hopes we'll waste time looking for a non-existent SK.

I said “mafia may be given that as a kill option”. I never decided what (maf or sk) killed Fuldu. Kerplunk only mentions the mafia family (Pastrelli). Could there be a sk? We don’t know. As you said there is nothing stated we do or don't.
As for the “first hand knowledge” comment, in my games, I commonly postulate different theories. In the pirate mini by CB (119), I made several hypothesis and was townie in my replacement stint.

In a 12-person game, there's only about a 15% chance that only one person will show up dead in a game with 2 killing groups. So, yes, it is possible that there are two killing groups, but I'd go with the probabilities and assume that there isn't an SK until two people turn up dead.

Also, I consider the methods of death more as flavor text than actual information for us to use. Yes, in some games the description of the killing is important, but I wouldn't assume so unless something came up to convince me otherwise.

It has nothing to do with imagination, it has to do with day 1 assumption. Wouldn't you look dandy if it shows up tomorrow with two kills, a shooting and and a stabbing?

No, actually, I'd be vindicated, because then we'd KNOW that BK was operating with extra knowledge ... which is what I've been saying I think is happening all along.

Nanook, you're really going WAY out of your way to defend BK. It's almost getting more suspicious to me than BK himself.

I think 15% is about right with 1 doc, but assuming there's only one doc is not correct.

Let me see if i got this right.
First massive thinks Big K has forehand knowledge, then goes on to argue there isn't a serial killer in this game and in that very same post accuses big k of *being* either the serial killer or mafia.
I think this whole thing is being blown out of proportion a bit. I hold the same stance as Ygg, killing methods should just be considered flavour text unless under specific circumstances.
