bandwagon vote: The Machine

I agree the comment seems somewhat scummy, and so far that's all we have to go on.

Also, (and I defer to the Alias fans in case any of my reasoning is wrong), isn't the show full of double agents? Couldn't it be possible that there are possible that there are members of a/the mafia group that are actually pro-town? It seems that this could explain mutliple kills without multiple killing groups.

I've played in a game with a Mafia double-agent before, once. Day 1, he posted all his scumpatriots in the thread. That shortened the game somewhat.

If we have any double-agents, I'd urge them to follow his lead. :D

Or is there a better-designed, more balanced version of that in circulation?

Vote count please, I don't want to kill Machine, but I want to bandwagon, and I'm way too lazy to count, actually, I'm not so sure I know how to count . . . 1, 4, X . . . yeah, that's as high as it goes.

I make 6 so far, with 12 to lynch.

Of course, that's highly unofficial - but we're way off lynching at the moment.

I think that is enough to warrant me dropping my random vote.

Unvote, Vote Assasin

Asking people to claim needlessly is kind of frivolous.

Copenhagen, Denmark GMT 230 GMT 3/10/2005

The foamy wash made by the cold waves of Skagerrak as they crashed against the rocky beach rose high into the air before falling again. The beachside cafe had stood here for over a three hundred years and seen the horrors of wars against Russia, Prussia and Germany. Now it was the meeting ground for the two whom held the power to bring about another war, and one more devastating than any of the previous ones.

One had arrived from across the Baltic Sea on his luxury yacht, the other had hitchhiked across Europe from Budapest.

In manner of dress they were worlds apart, one man dressed in the opulent manner of the merchant princes of the west, the other looked as if he not changed his shirt for a week.

"I trust your trip was not eventful?"
"No one followed me, I spent three months travelling through the backalleys of Europe, they have no idea where I am"
"Then let us finish the transaction, you can confirm that the money has been transfered to your bank accounts with this phone"
"Here are the chemicals you have been seeking, I trust you will not need my aid for the rest of the project?"
"No, you've done your part old friend, now the circle moves foward with all due speed, nothing should be able to stop us now"

After the man boarded his yacht, the entire beach erupted in a fiery explosion, a false sun that brightenned the night sky for miles around.

I won't vote The_Machine for now, he said
I was surprised with all the night kills and so I'm a scum? Wow, and I'm far from one.
This sounds like a Doc, Vig, or Cop claim, or at least hinting at it. This also could be a blatent lie. However, either way I agree with StD when he said
Machine, you don't have to claim, but you're going to have to better than that.

Role claim, this early? Why, so that I give away my role and then you choose someone else to lynch today and get me the following night?

All I can say is that on the side of the town with a toned down ability of either the cop, vig or doctor.

Here's what I, personally, don't like here...

Creola's post right before this states:
This sounds like a Doc, Vig, or Cop claim, or at least hinting at it.
Now, granted, I may be *new* here, but not new to Mafia at all... This smacks to me of either a double scum play OR a rookie scum play of The Machine, not having anything near a claim worked out.

I'll maintain my vote on The Machine.

I have a hard time seeing it as a double scum play just because it seems so inept. But otherwise I agree with Lee 100%. It looks a bit like mafia desperation, not wanting to claim, and so I will also leave my vote on Machine.

Often in mafia, with not much to go on, this is exactly what has to happen: someone gets bandwagoned on flimsy evidence and is forced to roleclaim or otherwise defend themselves somehow. Which doesn't mean I think Assassin is completely in the clear, but I don't particularly see him as MORE scummy than Machine. So I'm keeping my vote on the bandwagon that looks like it's going somewhere for now, if others think the Assassin bandwagon has more promise I'll be willing to switch.

Hey everyone. Mafiascum's email notification sucks.

So first of all, some games have a mechanic where if the cult leader tries to recruit a mafia member, the cult leader dies, or they both die. Could that be what happened with IS? In that case, we might not have 3 killing groups.

Machine bandwagon, huh? In my limited experience, Machine is a toned-down version of Crola (i.e. scummy play style), so his first comment doesn't seem like all that much, but it's suspicious that he just imitated Crola's guess at his claim. That was incredibly clumsy. I mean, at least tell us which it is.
I agree with deadbart's last post and
Vote: Machine
until something better comes along. I do notice that he's not being very defensive. In fact, he's not saying much at all.

Still happy with my vote for now, also, its possible that a double agent could have a restriction, such as if they post names they throw the game for the town, etc.

Machine, I'm not gonna push you any further into the lynch zone by voting yet, but it's gonna take something more convincing that what you've given us. Maybe if you don't want to divulge your role, you could give us a name?
