This is exactly why we don't want to lynch him under any circumstance today (unless he's not the real cop).

If he's not the real cop, I would like the real cop to claim now. I say that, because if Coolness is the real cop, he's already getting NK'd tonight. If he fake claiming, at least we can lynch noob scum first day (unless he's extremely noob town which would really screw us over) and the cop will get lynched anyway.

If no one else claims, there's no reason to lynch Coolness and let scum get an certain extra kill over night. The least we can do is keep Coolness alive with the hope of lynching scum today.

I don't understand Sironigous's argument against Dej. I think Tha is fakeclaiming, but I don't see how getting the real cop to claim helps us. It just gets us into WIFOM, and the scum will know which one to NK if we pick the wrong one.

I could see another reason someone would counterclaim though. They may be trying to create a distraction, take blame off Coolness. For example, if someone were to think Coolness really is the cop, they may want to take blame off him and risk themselves. It doesnt nessicarily make the counterclaimer the cop.

We're working with two scenarios here.

1) We believe his claim
2) We don't believe his claim.

If we don't believe his claim that means he's scum. Even the most basic of strategy says you shouldn't EVER claim a power role, because that's who the mob goes after first. If he were pro town, then he should have claimed vanilla.

If you do believe his claim, then he's deprived us of a power role. The mob are going to want to get rid of the power roles as quickly as possible. Which means even if he is alive tonight, he won't be by morning to announce the results of his investigation.

Asking for a counterclaim is just stupid, because if he is lying and he is scum, then having the cop counterclaim means you're exposing him to a kill.
