Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Mafia: Game Over!

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Sun Aug 08, 2004 12:09 pm

Long ago, in the beautiful kingdom of Hyrule surrounded by mountains and forests... legends told of an omnipotent and omniscient Golden Power that resided in a hidden land. Many people aggressively sought to enter the hidden Golden Land... But no one ever returned. One day evil power began to flow from the Golden Land... So the King commanded seven wise men to seal the gate to the Land of the Golden Power. This seal should have remained for all time... But, when these events were obscured by the mists of time and became legend... A mysterious wizard known as Agahnim came to Hyrule to release the seal. He eliminated the good King of Hyrule. Through evil magic, he began to make descendants of the seven wise men vanish, one after another. And the time of destiny for Princess Zelda is drawing near...

The Rules:

* Votes must be in bold. If you do not
bold
your vote, it will not be counted.
* Please be attentive and unvote, if necessary, before casting a new vote. This is not required, but I’d appreciate it.
* Executions will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, his pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be unheeded. You may vote: no lynch – majority votes of this kind are necessary to end the day without a death.
* The game is not to be discussed outside of the thread unless your role specifically states that you may do so.
* Once your death scene has been posted, you’re dead. Stop typing.
* Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts
* Don’t quote any PMs from me.
* If you have a night choice to make, it is due by the posted deadline. I will not wait for you – if you do not submit a choice to me, tough! No choice will be made.
* If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period, please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.
* Remember, it’s a game. It’s supposed to played. It’s supposed to be fun. Do your part.

Rules shamelessly stolen from MeMe.

Confirm receipt of role by pm.

KingEnigma will be replaced by big_kahunia.

Out of everyone else I have all confirmations, but still need some choices.

Ahhh, it's great to be living in Hyrule and to be breathing the fresh morning air, but for others it is just nice to lay dead in it.

This morning it seems something is wrong, you soon realize Oswin isn't anywhere. You search his house and do not find him, but you find some whittled sticks and some wood shavings. You search more and find him in the doorway of someone's house but it is not his own...

After you think that nothing else could go wrong you find that Quagmire is not with you either, it takes you while but you soon find him lying on the outskirts of Hyrule with nearly every bone in his body broken.

Oswin - A. Bumpkin Image, Townie, murdered in someone's doorway
Quagmire - Sickly Boy Image, Townie, fallen from a great height

It is now Light World One, with 18 alive it is 10 to lynch.

Vote: Ganon
for he is evil. If there is two townies dead, then we might have a lot of townies in this game. Any thoughts, anyone?

random vote: spork76

I'd agree with sycko, Ganon is definitely going to be evil. Unfortunately, that bit of info won't help us.

Any ideas about the killing groups? Perhaps one is Gannon and his henchmen and the other is Agahnim and his henchmen?

I'll start off by
random vote: Save The Dragons

Two townies and no special roles killed. No too bad. I would think Bumpkin might be a mason, but I guess not.
"Fallen from a great height". hm. Perhaps, Agahnim who has wings dropped him or he was thrusted from Dead Mt.

Ygg, I was thinking about that too with Ganon and Agahnim being godfathers of separate mafias.

No, Agahnim is one of Ganon's followers, he tries to help him in LttP. If anything there is an sk...Dark Link? Although he was not in LttP that is the only reasonable explanation. I highly doubt that Agahnim would work aganst Ganon, but for the sake of mafia he might want Hyrule for himself.
Random vote: Argoti
only because it is similar to Agahnim.

I don't really like random voting. It's good to get people to tell you what they did the last night, but if every1 votes for a different person it's pointless... but on the other hand, when in Rome...

okay I am not as familar with the game as some of you maybe.

Is there anything in the game that would kill by dropping someone from great heights.

The standard BGs I understand just by viewing a simple walkthrough-- but that one has me going huh.

I see we have a couple randomn votes-- I accessed the randomizer which has been used where I come from and it indicates Fishbulb is a good lynch.

So I vote Fishbulb

Agahiam was Ganon's henchmen, and if I'm not mistaken, his alter-ego or his puppet to the light world.

I was thinking A. Bumpkin and B. Bumpkin were masons, but maybe they had some other power together or something. I know that if I were to die, my role would probably say townie, even though I've got something. But don't kill me ;)

The only falling thing I can think of is those enemies that drop something...

OR THE DUCK...maybe the duck is an SK? sounds odd, but possible.

It's also possible he was pushed off a cliff, not fallen from high in the air. Like maybe from one of those annoying goron thingies? Bah, I'd go with the duck theory if I had to choose one.

Vote FD

I'm curious why we'd be told that A. Bumpkin was murdered in the doorway of someone else's house. Perhaps he did have some kind of power, and was killed by the evil types while he was out using it?

I know there isn't a whole lot to talk about on the first day, MMCL, but don't you think you could at least try to put more than a random vote in there? Y'know, put forth a little effort here...

That being said, I don't have much to add, nor do I like random votes. It's probably been 10 years since I've played it, so I'm gonna try to read a walkthrough, or buy it for GBA.

One thing I will say, if Quagmire had been pushed off a cliff, as Save The Dragons said, I figure we would've noticed him "lying at the bottom of a cliff", not "lying on the outskirts of Hyrule..."

Tsk Fishbulb... not much else I can do as yet... as you yourself said.

With so little information, any speculation either way, is kinda futile just yet... however having played the game a long time ago aren't the brothers' Bumpkin the people that make you race through the maze to get an additional heart piece. Why he fell out of the sky I have no idea... but he could've been up a tree or something... (I can't remember the sickly boy in the game - is he the one that gives you the insect catching net?)

Which brings me on to the next thing I was thinking about but not typing about. Heart-Pieces and Weapons upgrades are kind of key to Zelda.... I am wondering IF they will play a part in this game (in some way)...

Just for all of our memories could we perhaps lists the possible bad guys.

We have aghaim and ganon.

Someone mentioned a duck.

Any other possibilities.

And
FOS to anyone saying don't like random votes day one. It is day one.

and funny one of the complainers is one of the random votes- go figure.
