Just so you understand. I come from a very weird family. On one side is the starchy don't do this, don't be like this and always be a lady.crywolf20084 wrote:I agree with all of this especially the bolded part.farside wrote:I don't know the male perspective on this. I hear stories about being called a virgin and how men react to the statement.
Women on the other hand well it a case by case study.
Some are happy to be called virgins. Some are insulted. Some will laugh at you for said statement.
Usually virgin isn't an insult from a female point of viewbut I know most get insulted by being called a slut.
I say ask multiple men what they think if someone said what TSQ said and ask how they would react.
Personally I found it insulting.
And to that bolded person, I have never met a woman be offended by being called a virgin, unless they dress like a whore to the point that no one wants to sleep with them (then I just laugh).
There is a reason why some call down there a flower, or sacred. Most women want sex with feelings, not for the sake of losing their virginity.
The other side is very sexual and open family.
My mom didn't care as long as you were protected. However being a virgin past the age of 18 is a novalty in CA never mind my family.
Now mind you I'm 34 with a child so this is just so you understand the being offended part.
One day I was getting a ride home from a guy I knew at work. I was 20 and still a virgin. He told me when we talked that the only women who are virgins are 8 year olds who have not slept with their brother.
It was pretty offensive to me at that age and upsetting. I never thought anything wrong with waiting but some people made it seem like a joke. Hence why after a certain point I didn't care either and felt offended with the jokes. But once again this is from a virgin 20 year old that is long gone.
